Maybe get the rings that make your armor invisible. But the NG+ stuff will come after I make that run. Just wondering/deciding what to use my ascetics on. I hear the covenant weapons/spells are NG++ so that sucks...
also I think it is better to: - ensure that estus flask is a it's best and upgrade it if it's not 12 flasks +5; - kill all optional bosses for souls and stuff, next time they will be stronger; - use all fragrant branches, they will not go to NG+(n); - visit optional areas for extra stuff; PS: effigies can be easily farmed from dogs in lost bastile, mosters, lurking in water in shrine of amana, just don't forget to increase item discovery
Also a good idea would be buying all the cool boss armors from the vendor in Majula and kill all the npc's for their loot. And of course upgrade all your gear to max. You can also farm upgrade materials in Dragon Aerie.

Does it really matter if it's magic or fire damage? Isn't it even better to split it when it's already nonphysical? Besides you get more total damage *and* a better scaling...
Yes: better (for example) 400 magic damage than 250fire+250magic. The damage is split between fire and magic defences, in the second option, while in the first it's ALL magic, so only magic defence cares. Of couse, then we could say something about buffs, and in this case you're right, but remenber that MLGS can't be buffed.
Defences are percentual, not absolute values. Elseways you did zero damage if your attack value was under the resistance value. But obviously you can't deal zero damage with a hit. But when it's percentual, the average resistance counts. So if the other one hasn't insanely high fire resistance, it deals more damage.
So, killing the Fire Keepers won't mess up my NG+? And I accidentally released Navlaan before all sources told me not to. I'll be able to do his sidequest the next time around, yes? (I won't free him this time xD)
another great way to get human effigies in hosting a fight club. I had like 5 and i went to the bridge in iron keep and in less than an hour i got more than 60
you don't have to kill the fire keepers, once you beat Vendrick (I think, not 100% on that) if you go back and speak to them they will give you the 6 effigies.
I have a nice way to farm human effigies. I pulled the lever to release Navlaan (yeah I know I am dumb). But just go to king gate bonfire in the forest of the fallen giants and he will spawn there. Kill him and you get a human effigy. While you are there, you can also go into the memory of the giant and farm souls by killing the giant lord. If you come back out of the memory, burn a bonfire ascetic. Navlaan will spawn again, so kill him for the human effigy and go intp the giants memory again. Since in the giants memory, the bonfire ascetic respawns every time you burn it, you can do this infinetly and farm an infinte amount of souls and human effigies
KILL THE DARKLURKER!!! (Covenant of Dark storyline) If you want to get all achievements you have to kill the Darklurker to get her soul and she is one of the game's most difficult bosses. Trying to kill her on NG+ or more is extremely difficult. Also its difficult because you can't get multiplayer help.
Strowen, the old lady at the head of the table that lets you respec with a Soul Vessel, will give you those 6 Effigys if you talk to her after getting the King's Ring. No need to kill her (I think...).
The firekeeper that re-specs gave me 6 human effigies after I killed Vendrick so I don't see any reason to kill them, plus the fountain thing in the shrine can turn me human in case I run out of it.
oh my God thank you so much for this video. Being the fool I am, I used all my Soul vessels before I actually needed them and now fight a constant battle with the game in areas that are much harder than they should be, simply because I have half a health bar. now, having no use for the bonfire keepers in this play through, I'm going to kill them in order to get the soul vessels. I didn't know this was a thing you could do, and I wish you good luck on your UA-cam career
i have thought about it but there's a couple reasons why i havent. reason 1, it's kinda late, its best to do that kinda thing when the game just comes out. reason 2, bloodborne is a good game and i enjoyed it, but not as much as the souls games so there was a bit of lack of motivation
this is really old video too,so hopefully lots of people learned the hard way. 2020 , so im no nube, been playing it since it came out, own, 1 2 and 3,and ll content.
Any way you could make a video on your build? You're using very high level magic, have decently heavy armor, are rocking my favorite weapon in the game, AND have a nearly obscene amount of health and stamina. Seems you've covered most bases, and since I'm starting anew on Scholar of the First Sin, it would be nice to start working my way towards a similar build.
Tyler Kyle here's the thing buddy, my build might be a little misleading. The footage you're seeing in this video is of me on new game plus 2 or 3, I can't remember which exactly but I know it's one of them. That being said I've made a hell of a lot of money in all those playthroughs which in turn allowed me to look like an unstoppable brute that can also cast spells. If you tried to attempt this build in the first playthrough it would divide your points too much because I have a lot of points in several different things. Health, stamina, vitality so I can wear the heavy armor and still be quick, and enough strength and dexterity to wield the moonlight greatsword which can only be obtained on new game plus or higher. I would recommend for your first playthrough to just focus on putting points into intelligence, attunement and Health as your main focus until you're strong enough to afford putting points into other things.
Ahhh okay, thanks for the help! I plan on burning an ascetic to get my moonlight great sword early haha and I'm going to use the soul farming method in one of the giants dreams to get massive souls (its like 500k each run through). so far I've just beaten the looking glass knight and am having hugeeee health issues like a damn fool, so I'll take your advice on upping health, attunement and intelligence from now on haha (: thanks again!
No problem, and hey if you enjoy my content for the entertainment factor I'm doing a let's play on scholar of the first sin if you wanna watch it, but if not that's fine too, good luck
i do every quest, i get the alternative way for naavlan, buy every human effigy i can find, kill every NPC in the game except for melentia and shannalote and then buy all their armors and then kill melentia and then level up and kill shannalote along with everything on this list :P
+gh16499 Only necessary if you're doing a speed run or no bonfire/death run of the game and starting a new character completely (people always start with the explorer since that class starts with witching urns which kills Maughlin quickly). You can farm those spider hollow things in Tseldora if you want for the Tseldora set without needing to kill an NPC who sells good armor like he does (unless you've already gotten all his armor then I suppose why not?). There's other armor you can get that increases souls gained from wearing it: the Warlock Mask which is a rare drop from two non-respawning enemies and probably not worth the trouble in trying to get, the Nahr Alma hood and robes which you can get from Tetchy Gren from either 1) getting 500 total successful kills in the BoB PvP arena without losing or else you get docked a point and fuck that shit 2) the better method, killing Tetchy Gren, who is an asshole and deserves to die anyway, he's all about that blood so let him get soaked in his own; he either drops his armor or you buy it off of Melentia, one of the two. And finally the Jester's Gloves, which you can buy off of Magerold in Iron Keep. So if you somehow managed to get a Warlock Mask or you have the Nahr Alma Hood, the Nahr Alma Robes, the Jester's Gloves, then all you need is the Tseldora Trousers along with a Covetous Silver Serpent Ring of sorts then you're good to go for soul farming!
Live Bands in Toledo yes but it looked like i was deflected off the witches themselves... hence why its funny -_- ooohhh youre so clever, not really tho, just ruining a good joke.
then you cant rank up or change your stuff with vessel because you killed main pc's, just farm the effigies, from majule, from skeletons, were you found that soul vessel, bonfire Ascetic, farm them, go back to majule, burn in bonfire, x10, gives you almost a 100 effigies, or it did myself.
this way is the safest and easiest, the skeletons get harder and harder, come like 5-6 at one time, but at least you don't have to play hacks, cheaters, op tricks, impending low lvl people ect, trust me almost a 100, 10 x, bonfire ascetics , farmed, burn in bonfire in majula, and keep killing the skeletons. and know need to kill old defenseless, women, unless your really hard up and suck at dark souls. actually no need to kill any NPC's, as you progress, they all give you all there stuff, armor weapons, aged feather from emerald chick, don't kill them cause there is consequences for your senseless actions, and sometimes the souls to bring up phantoms, to deal with them just more waist of game time and souls, 300,000, at a time to bring back old gal to do the vessel thing that's getting up there.
Dont forget to mention that, when you kill too much npcs, your level of sin will increase which leads to invasions from judgement ghosts (Dont know their name in english). Its a real pain in the ass
Thomas Balloon I'm wearing syan's armor, it can only be obtained by having the syan knights drop their gear. As for where the old fire keepers are, I mean they're at the very start of the game, and you have to see them in order to advance the game, you can't miss them.
ornstein. although i think his name in dark souls 2 is the old dragon slayer if i recall. he's located in heide's tower of flame just after you get past the fire drake
I got the maximum possible ammount of effigies by 3 days straight doing that (every time I went online for about 4 hours). 99 on bonfire 99 on inventory
+Kody Cook Nope, the one you're thinking of that Benhart of Jugo carries is a weaker smaller version of the one in my video. You can only get this one after beating the duke's dear freja on new game plus and having him drop the paledrake soul which you can then use to make this sword. Alternatively if you're impatient you can use a bonfire ascetic on your first playthrough to make freja be as strong as it normally would on new game plus and drop the paledrake soul but this will permanently increase the difficulty of the boss by one playthrough so if you wanna go that route be prepared for the consequences I hope that helped
So I released Navlaan from the jail. When I start NG+ does it restart? Now that I know Navlaan's side quest is a necessity i want to choose to not release him. Or is it too late?
if you talk to the one that respec's you she'll just give 6 effigy's that and it's a pain when you want to respec and you have to pay 15000 souls just to lvl up
already pulled the lever but he did tell me to kill gallavan....and i killed him....i didnt join any covenant so i get human effigy every time i defeated an invader so i got about 57 something right now
+Potato Kujo what happens in NG+ is the same as what happens when you throw an aesthetic into a bonfire. it'll make everyone and everything tougher, but respawns everyone and everything.
I haven't ever released him myself, but I'm pretty sure you can kill him is his human body. Try going to where the cell is, or just looking it up. Killing him will cause him to stop invading, but won't allow you to do the questline. And to reiterate, I haven't done this myself, but I've been told that's how you do it.
I dont care about the invasions, they are like way too easy...I just want the questline + I havent actually tried to go to him yet (didnt have time) so I guess I'll go now and thanks o3o/
He fixes dialog with npc's. For instance if you pissed off the guy who tells you not to make light, you can pay the Pardoner to fix the dialog. Although I don't think it works with this guy. Too different if you ask me.
+KidsWithGuns1992 for the sword you have to beat the duke's dear freja on new game plus and make it with the paledrake soul she drops. for the armor you can only get it to drop off of the knights in drangleic castle or the ones guarding the kings doors. make sure you're wearing the ring that increases drop rate chance when you kill them and hope you get all the pieces
+Giancarlo Salatini unfortunately once you've started new game plus you can't undo it. you're stuck in the new playthrough. the only way you've be able to fix it is if you backed up the save file, but I doubt you did.
Join the pilgrims of the dark then farm bonfire ascetics from the npcs in the portal next to the wheelchair fag (you can enter by giving him effigies) then go to majula and burn effigies and go into the basement where there was a skeleton. There will be more each time you burn an ascetic and they each drop an effigy. Be careful though, because these enemies are a bitch to fight.
When the far fire gives you the ability to start ng+ Chloanne has infinite amount of titanite chunks for sale.

+Peterplayingguitar why 'her', male figure and no tits
+Peterplayingguitar darklurker is easier then most of other bosses atleast for me
+MrExelCZ was a bitch and a half for me.......almost every other boss was first try dead
+BADxCARMA exactly! I had to do it on NG+. It took a very long time and a lot of patience but i got through eventually.
+LeadCodpiece Never really noticed or looked closely enough. Just seemed like a kind of evil angel. Guess i was too busy avoiding the attacks.
Strowen, the old lady at the head of the table that lets you respec with a Soul Vessel, will give you those 6 Effigys if you talk to her after getting the King's Ring. No need to kill her (I think...).
u can talk to her AND kill her which gives u even more
Did not know that, dude. Thanks!
rambling level: infinite
The firekeeper that re-specs gave me 6 human effigies after I killed Vendrick so I don't see any reason to kill them, plus the fountain thing in the shrine can turn me human in case I run out of it.
Kill some npcs that can give you special items for example, the tseldora set, the npcs will be back in ng+
If you speak with Navlaan while human, he treats you as a friend.
oh my God thank you so much for this video.
+Jackson Cordray thanks a lot dude, I really appreciate that. youtubin' aint easy
GawdlikeMatt I assume you play on pc?
actually im strictly console, more specifically ps3/ps4
+GawdlikeMatt dammit. I play both souls games on 360. also, have you thought about doing bloodborne? it is after all, a souls game exclusive to ps4
i have thought about it but there's a couple reasons why i havent. reason 1, it's kinda late, its best to do that kinda thing when the game just comes out. reason 2, bloodborne is a good game and i enjoyed it, but not as much as the souls games so there was a bit of lack of motivation
this is really old video too,so hopefully lots of people learned the hard way. 2020 , so im no nube, been playing it since it came out, own, 1 2 and 3,and ll content.
thanks you and you know the Iron Man build in this game do you know how that works?
The scene of getting effigy's remind's me my previous work :D
the npc behind the fog didn't attack me when I pulled the level
What is that armor if you don't mind.
Why would I need effigy when I have vendrick anti hollow crown??
You dont have to kill vendrick to get the human effigies. I just got them after i specifically didnt kill him.
If you grind hard you can get 11 or 12 soul vessels in the dlc
>records video in 480p
>encodes in 1080p
also, nice guide for ng+2 too.
Ok then, umm. I was a person that did flip that switch that released him, now I'll need to go to New game plus just to get that magic move
when you go to NG+ how do you keep your things you get throw the game
Melentia- Me-len-cha
Me-len-t-a
David The Dog muh lent ya
David The Dog Me-len-chia
It's Meh-len-sha lmao
I thought it was me-len-chia
Do u get sin for killing the firekeepers, as I have non and dont wanna gain any
i do every quest, i get the alternative way for naavlan, buy every human effigy i can find, kill every NPC in the game except for melentia and shannalote and then buy all their armors and then kill melentia and then level up and kill shannalote along with everything on this list :P
If I keep all my boss souls in the item box at a bonfire during the first play through will the get lost in new game plus?
No. They stay in the Item box
Maybe kill the armor vendor for the extra soul armor (if you havent done that already)
So if you somehow managed to get a Warlock Mask or you have the Nahr Alma Hood, the Nahr Alma Robes, the Jester's Gloves, then all you need is the Tseldora Trousers along with a Covetous Silver Serpent Ring of sorts then you're good to go for soul farming!
the first soul vessel was actually in the chest right next to the skeleton... the skelly got a estus flask shard :D also pretty useful
Classy Scoot i corrected that via annotation, but you would know that if you HAD THEM ON. Im sorry I love you.
GawdlikeMatt no one has annotations on
you realized you were bouncing off do to the fireplace and table right?
Live Bands in Toledo yes but it looked like i was deflected off the witches themselves... hence why its funny -_- ooohhh youre so clever, not really tho, just ruining a good joke.
You dont have to kill those poor old ladies in order to get the HE. You can farm a lot in PVP against invaders or red signals
not now lol
then you cant rank up or change your stuff with vessel because you killed main pc's, just farm the effigies, from majule, from skeletons, were you found that soul vessel, bonfire Ascetic, farm them, go back to majule, burn in bonfire, x10, gives you almost a 100 effigies, or it did myself.
this way is the safest and easiest, the skeletons get harder and harder, come like 5-6 at one time, but at least you don't have to play hacks, cheaters, op tricks, impending low lvl people ect, trust me almost a 100, 10 x, bonfire ascetics , farmed, burn in bonfire in majula, and keep killing the skeletons. and know need to kill old defenseless, women, unless your really hard up and suck at dark souls. actually no need to kill any NPC's, as you progress, they all give you all there stuff, armor weapons, aged feather from emerald chick, don't kill them cause there is consequences for your senseless actions, and sometimes the souls to bring up phantoms, to deal with them just more waist of game time and souls, 300,000, at a time to bring back old gal to do the vessel thing that's getting up there.
7:23
I'LL NOT GET DOWN THAT EASY!
*gets down*
Dont forget to mention that, when you kill too much npcs, your level of sin will increase which leads to invasions from judgement ghosts (Dont know their name in english). Its a real pain in the ass
+Farlon Spookblade every blue that invaded be bowed
I might sound like a noob but what armor is that you're wearing ??
PS : sorry for my english
+hullubaloo100 It's the syan knight armor, you can only get it as a drop from the enemies wearing it
+GawdlikeMatt ok thanks it never dropped for me :((
What gear are you wearing where you are killing the ladies for effigies? :o
Thomas Balloon I'm wearing syan's armor, it can only be obtained by having the syan knights drop their gear. As for where the old fire keepers are, I mean they're at the very start of the game, and you have to see them in order to advance the game, you can't miss them.
GawdlikeMatt Right down the road.
lmfao you are so funny with those old ladies beatibg =))) subbed =))))
+Vampires Crypt thank you :D
sorcery build
anything electric usually scales off faith, so most likely a faith build
there is no class you can choose to start out with that spear. i think the spear your talking about is the on you get from a boss.
ornstein. although i think his name in dark souls 2 is the old dragon slayer if i recall. he's located in heide's tower of flame just after you get past the fire drake
You an get a shit ton of effigys from hosting a fight club, even if you don't fight you get a ton, in about half an hour or so i got like 30
I got the maximum possible ammount of effigies by 3 days straight doing that (every time I went online for about 4 hours).
99 on bonfire
99 on inventory
that blue sword he has, do you kill the knight who has it?
+Kody Cook Nope, the one you're thinking of that Benhart of Jugo carries is a weaker smaller version of the one in my video. You can only get this one after beating the duke's dear freja on new game plus and having him drop the paledrake soul which you can then use to make this sword. Alternatively if you're impatient you can use a bonfire ascetic on your first playthrough to make freja be as strong as it normally would on new game plus and drop the paledrake soul but this will permanently increase the difficulty of the boss by one playthrough so if you wanna go that route be prepared for the consequences
I hope that helped
Thank you very much. That was extremely helpful
no problem. that's why i make teh vidz
Dlc's change something before ng+?
So I released Navlaan from the jail. When I start NG+ does it restart? Now that I know Navlaan's side quest is a necessity i want to choose to not release him. Or is it too late?
+Derek Hurst on new game plus it'll be fine he will have reset so dont worry. all mistakes are forgiven on NG+
Aww cool thanks
lol things I should've done before NG+, stuck on sinners rise on my sorcerer now ugh
How did that went?
CidGuerreiro1234 not good. Can't even get to the damn boss. And when I do, I CNT HANDLE THE RED NPCS AUGH
nope nope You on PC? Depending on Soul Level/Memory I might help.
CidGuerreiro1234 I'm on ps4
im farming sun medals so I have the time to help you. My psn is JBF-07 and my soul memory 2 million add me if you want
Execute order 66. A classic.
Um the first soul vessel you get it inside the chest in the basement not on the skeleton, the skeleton gives you estus flask shard
juan Rodriguez if you had annotations on you would've realized I already corrected this mistake.
GawdlikeMatt "mobile users"
Dumbass GEEKS xD I jk
does starting a new game plus restarts your progress in the game?
+James Olarte yes but you carry over most items and gear with you
That music scared the shit out of me
+konstantin bratkov 4 Kings music from DS1. I think it's kind of catchy.
my question is what so special about ng+ other than difficulty and some new spells
+Ak47 there's also new enemies in places there wasn't before and you have access to new weapons as well.
GawdlikeMatt i guess id give it a go,
you should
3:29 scared the shit outa me
Whats that blue sword/green sword?
Moonlight greatsword
i actualy dont even want to start an ng+ at all yet. Im only gonna do that once i obtain everything in the game
some things are only available in ng + though
if you talk to the one that respec's you she'll just give 6 effigy's that and it's a pain when you want to respec and you have to pay 15000 souls just to lvl up
Oh, and also max out your stats and get every single item in game (including dlc items, without having the dlc) because it's too easy like that ;>
already pulled the lever but he did tell me to kill gallavan....and i killed him....i didnt join any covenant so i get human effigy every time i defeated an invader so i got about 57 something right now
All the NPCs I killed in NG gonna appear again in NG+?
Potato Kujo yes
GawdlikeMatt Thanks!
+Potato Kujo what happens in NG+ is the same as what happens when you throw an aesthetic into a bonfire. it'll make everyone and everything tougher, but respawns everyone and everything.
subscribed for 0:37
thanks dood xD
No one needs that many soul vessels
oh i pulled the lever and wondered what happened....(is there a way to reverse it)?
I haven't ever released him myself, but I'm pretty sure you can kill him is his human body. Try going to where the cell is, or just looking it up. Killing him will cause him to stop invading, but won't allow you to do the questline.
And to reiterate, I haven't done this myself, but I've been told that's how you do it.
I dont care about the invasions, they are like way too easy...I just want the questline + I havent actually tried to go to him yet (didnt have time) so I guess I'll go now and thanks o3o/
Np, and sorry about that. I wish there was a way to fix it. Maybe the Pardoner will work.
no idea what the pardoner is o_o + i killed the guy lol
He fixes dialog with npc's. For instance if you pissed off the guy who tells you not to make light, you can pay the Pardoner to fix the dialog. Although I don't think it works with this guy. Too different if you ask me.
I have a question, if I kill every single NPC in the game, will they all respawn in new game +?
Yes, they respawn.
:D Okay, thanks!
Time to kill all the NPC's >:D
Wretch!
+Damien Tuck i think youll stil be a sinner
Where do you get your armor and sword plsss?
+KidsWithGuns1992 for the sword you have to beat the duke's dear freja on new game plus and make it with the paledrake soul she drops. for the armor you can only get it to drop off of the knights in drangleic castle or the ones guarding the kings doors. make sure you're wearing the ring that increases drop rate chance when you kill them and hope you get all the pieces
also join the covenant of Champions so they respawn infinitly.
Aw ye, will have to save this somehow and check back. Cheers ese's!
Y U NO UPGRADE ESTUS FLASK? (good video anyway)
i bought 198 chunks before ng+
didnt kill the hags, forgot them
also after beating vendrick you get unlimited titanite chunks
I never knew what souls vessels did so I think I ended up selling 3 of them to Gavlan.
Lol seeing you do all that is kinda funny
Anybody can explain me if i start a new game plus the souls of giants i found in the dead giants just dissapear?
+Gustavo da Silva Brito you keep the souls of the giants when you start new game plus, no worries dude. you wont lose em.
nice video bro!
Crazy I found all the soul vessels, but I sold 5 of them to gavlan
3:27 aaaand that kids is what they mean by hard headed
how do You attack at this speed
I have like 99+99 human effigies, in the bonefire storage and inventory lol
I start new game plus acidentaly how do I get out (sorry for my english)
+Giancarlo Salatini unfortunately once you've started new game plus you can't undo it. you're stuck in the new playthrough. the only way you've be able to fix it is if you backed up the save file, but I doubt you did.
Thanks
But im playng on ps4. Im gona try and agayn thanks (sorry for bad english)
being on ps4 makes no difference, you'll still be in the same situation
Demons souls soundtrack. Good choice
what does tgn stand for?
+Zachary Malone I believe it is Twitch Gaming Network based off the color scheme, but I am not sure.
Im just trying to get through this game. Its meh. First game that Im not super excited to NG+
I dont need this cuz i'm on ng+ 5 But i have no clue so i'm gonna whatch this
Build?
Join the pilgrims of the dark then farm bonfire ascetics from the npcs in the portal next to the wheelchair fag (you can enter by giving him effigies) then go to majula and burn effigies and go into the basement where there was a skeleton. There will be more each time you burn an ascetic and they each drop an effigy. Be careful though, because these enemies are a bitch to fight.
Why do you need to farm Ascetics? You can just get to the Lord of the Giants memory and soul-farm the fuck out of it spamming hexes.
I didn't know about that when I wrote this comment. Also the giant lord is a pain in the ass if you're a melee user. xD
Electric Church well he is pretty easy if u do kow his moveset^^ thanks to the giant lord i'm already lvl 238
