I just traded a Road King for a 2020 UL. The difference in the riding experience is amazing. I’m 66, 185 pounds and just over 6’. I’m a one up rider but the wife is showing interest. Looking forward to a ride through the southeast Oklahoma mountains today!
The ultra is an amazing motorcycle. I was just floored by the mass this bike had. I've driven heavy bikes before but this one was up there. Really liked it.
@@fuzzyamericanbiker6461it definitely has mass. That’s a huge benefit on the highway and a handful at slow speeds. However, it’s amazingly capable at slow speeds with some technique and practice.
42K miles on my 2019 Ultra, the M8 has sumped itself 6 times, the transmission continually transfers fluid to the primary drive, even after the NHTSA allowed EPA violation fix of venting the transmission directly to the atmosphere. It's eaten 4 lifters, and decided one day to be a crop duster on the freeway and burned oil creating a huge smoke show, thought it was on fire. The mounts on the front fender have cracked. All three fluids are changed every 5K miles, brake lines flushed every spring, and all maintenance performed per HD spec. Currently pursuing a lemon law case. I'll be very happy when this relationship is over, but it is a great looking bike, looks good parked.
Had a 2018 two tone red ultra, then went with exact bike in September. Harley has done some cost cutting with this model. No bag lines, only one key fob, no tool kit, removal of the windshield vent cut off rocker, heel/toe shifter is now toe only, no more chrome highlights on the wheels. Still like the bike but it’s funny how “bean counters” at MOCO are trimming items at a more accelerated pace.
I like the review….and i am waiting to pick up my 2021 114 in Vivid Black next week! Then go for 4 days to “de Eifel” in germany. In june i leave for 120Th HD Event in Budapest and travel for 3 weeks round Eastern EU , Italy, Swiss, France …
Very nice and detail-rich review!!! Thanks for that. Should have had it in October 2022 when I had rented this bike in FL for a few days, as I didn’t realize to have these flaps/vents on the lowers which would have helped me a lot to keep my right leg from burning … 😝 Other than that I fully agree, it’s a gorgeous bike and really fun to ride!
Hey Fuzzy Biker, did you know the "other" name, for the ultra limited? The "geezer glide"! I like the one you're displaying-absolutely georgeous just standing there! I'm calling "dibs" on it now! Doug
Us old geezers are the only ones that can afford them and actually know how to ride them too LOL! They've got this one ready for you down at Loess Hills HD... Tell'm fuzzy sent ya!
Fuzzy, I'd like to get that "Geezer Glide" model, BUT, in fuschia pink! My biker buds would be "on the floor" busting in laughter! At 50-8 years ago- my mom bought me a fuschia pink golf shirt, with "matching phone case"! Repeated it for my 51st birthday, how do you argue against a "mom"! When I get to the dealership in Iowa, I'm looking for you, so WE can enjoy the experience of that motorcycle! You won't escape from this matter! Merry Christmas to you and your family "Fuzz"!🏍️😁🐻👍🧸🏍️ Doug
Can this bike get any better? Yes it can. Change suspension to Legend front and back and change to an H-D heated hammock seat. It’s a huge step up in comfort with these 2 simple changes. Get ready to tour the USA.
Put my blue 2015 Ultra Limited Low 103 next to this FLHTK and 90%'ish of mentioned features in this video are applicable. I spent $500 adding heated grips and lighted control buttons. 2023 I still get "nice bike" comments from people walking by.
I’m thinking one of these for my next ride. I love my 2019 FLHR tho so I’m not in a rush. I’d have to find a 2020 tho when I’m ready .. I got bitten by the hydraulic clutch bug .. I wish they stuck with it. It’s so good. Only gripe is the start of the friction zone is like 90% open.. softbrake makes a replacement clutch lever that takes 2 seconds to swap out and fixed that issue .. I think all roads lead to the ultra limited.. so I’m gonna skip the street glide stage lol
@@drainmonkeys385 any bike sucks in traffic. I don’t find my Road king sucking any more in traffic more than some smaller bike. When u got the experience the weight for the most part is irrelevant. To me .. the HD touring bikes arr so well balanced and handle exceptionally
Mine is a 2014 ultra limited and it's awesome. 45,000 miles and the twin cam 103 high output Rushmore is purring with passion. I'm not ready for the M8... Not convinced it's a better design yet.
oh man...the M-8 is MILES better motor than the old Twinkie...I just came off a 2005 Ultra, to a 2021 RG limited with 114.....been riding 45 years...this motor is a game changer!
I’m torn…. I really like all that luxury.. but I don’t like all that weight One mistake at low speed.. approaching a stop sign on a curve and a downhill stop at the same time.. if you don’t approach exactly right.. your screwed lol Bad enough already on a road glide.. but damm sure would be nice for those long across the country rides
This bike is the one I would choose if I had to drive a thousand miles at a run, even 500 at a shot. It's just so luxurious comfortable. So it is heavy but I think that's something personal get used to rather quickly. Having said that, I'm torn between this and the road king.
Over-rated, overpriced and long in the tooth. This thing is typically unchanged since my 2014 with the exception of the M8 and a few doo-dads. Come ride that in Pa. and you'll see how bad the suspension sucks. If I were to buy a new bagger it would be the the new Indian Pursuit, light years ahead of any Harley.
The Pursuit is more expensive MSRP than a Harley Ultra Limited lol. Never ridden a pursuit but indians liquid cooled engines aren't special in anyway. Rode a few Indians at a demo and while they're nice bikes I preferred Harley. More comfortable better handling and I prefer their styling. Indian fanboys/Harley haters can't jump on the two wheels they like and just ride, and when you're critiquing you don't even compare apples to apples. Granted Harley hasn't made a liquid cooled bagger so you have nothing to compare the pursuit to. Maybe they'll jump on that wagon soon but the sound, feel, and torque of air cooled engines is the only way to go IMO. Get on your bike and stop blowing wind up your own 🍑

I sure enjoyed it. Beautiful bike.
Absolutely breathtaking 😍 worth every penny...
I agree with you on both counts.
I miss the front vendor trim they use to have. But still a beauty. I love my 2008 Ultra Classic.
Truly beautiful motorcycles. Wahoo!
I changed to a Paul Yaffe front fender to get rid of the fender tip light and excess chrome. Less "Geezer Glide" and more cleaned up look.
@@sprintcar-acematt5175 the 2021 models do have the bare frontfender already🤘🏼

They are a nice bike, and handle amazingly. However I just wish they had more power in the engine and a louder stereo. Both engine and amp are anemic.
