Nioh is very fun once you get it, the problem is that is SUPER complex, postures, ki management, weapon combos in each posture, A LOT of items that you have to sit through and spend time in menus. Its not a game you can just pick and play, you must commit to it. Very sad though
nioh 2 is a masterpiece if u have the patience , if u still cant understand the mechanics then maybe take help form any youtube video that explains it whenever u got spare time
Baffled that there are people out there talking about best souls like and then say they don’t like Nioh. By far the best ‘souls like’ IMO. Fromsoftware and its ’knock offs’ are my favourite sub genre of games. Nioh 2 specifically is a rather exceptional game. Still come back to it now even after 3 playthroughs hahaha.
@@suchar7175 I have played lies of p. It’s an excellent game as well! The only thing that holds it back for me is the world itself. It feels less ‘polished’ compared to Nioh 2 in some ways. Not sure how to describe other than the stages feel more real or ‘lived in’ compared to Lies of P. I still prefer the combat for Nioh 2 over lies of P as well.
I just really dont like nioh’s enemy design, They look like evil pokemon. And i know they are based of Japanese folklore but still thats my biggest gripe.

Agreed and when it comes to performance it's simply better. Fromsoft have always had problems releasing games that feel properly optimized but Lies of P ran perfectly since day 1.
The og Lords of the Fallen is actually really good. People just can't get over the pace of it. I've been playing Elden Ring recently after 2 years of watching speedruns and bingo matches of the game at 2x speed and it felt like the game is running in slow motion especially when I got Margit. It's actually not that different from Lords of the Fallen.
Respectfully disagree, played both 100 times and it’s quite different from the pacing to the quality of the experience to the s in Elden ring are incredible..idk it’s not even close
OG LoF is very rough around the edges. The boss fights are incredibly mechanical in their movements. ER is on another level although the last 1/3rd to me was very meh and repeated bosses (overall bloat) took it down a bit. Still galaxies better than either LoF.
Ive played all of them and beaten all of them exept salt and sanctuary, the best hands down is Lies of P, which i really hated when i played the Demo. It ended up being so good that i put in like 5 playthroughs.
Veteran souls player here Im gonna try to be as much transparent as i can In random order Lords of the fallen 2024 update masters of fate = it reminds me of Dark Souls 1 which is a good thing except it gets really boring and just a chore by the end. Both Nioh and Nioh 2 are not for everyone. I do not consider any of them as a Soulslike But they are pretty good and a good challenge for people who like a good hard game (and i mean hell) i recommend playing Nioh 2 co-op if you have friends Lies of P is a really good game, really well made it has a good story with a amazing twist and amazing voice acting and i really can't say a bad thing about the game Remnant and Remnant 2 both are good fun co-op shooters that i would say are far from flawless Playing it alone can be fun but its really not as fun as an true soulslike and gets boring eventually those are the games that i played Haven't played the surge games and mortal shell just really wasn't for me

You said you didnt pick Motal Shell and Surge 2 because they arent well known but you covered Thymesia😂😂😂. Kidding aside, Motal Shell is the closest whem it comes to a souls game. Its not the best but its the closest IMO. Surge 2 is really good. I like the futuristic take on the genre
These are all good games (haven´t yet tried Rise of the Ronin though, so cannot say anything about it). Personally I´d add both Surge games (first one has better story and atmosphere, second game has better everything else). Remnant games are also great. Few words about the games you listed, in no particular order: - Nioh 2 is always among the top picks for me in Soulslikes. It has it´s own thing going. First Nioh is good already, but Nioh 2 just improves pretty much everything. I still prefer From Software games over it, but there are things that Nioh does better imo. One of them being the armor. It´s not just "fashion Souls". The armor actually matters and you can build a tank with heavy armor if you like, who actually can tank hits quite well. Ofc there´s price for that, but it´s a possible and viable option. In Dark Souls-games the difference between being naked or having the heaviest armor usually means just fat rolling and you can take maybe 1 or max 2 more hits. Very little reasons to go for really heavy armor (unless we start talking about poise values). Story in Team Ninja games.... well... It is in there, but it´s not their strong area. Overall Nioh games are so different, that some will really love them, but they´re not for everyone. - Wo Long (wasn´t in the list, but I´ll add it) is very close to Nioh. Just not quite as good in my opinion, but anyone who likes Nioh games, will probably like Wo Long too. Story was even less interesting for me than in Nioh games. - Thymesia was a fine little game. Not really memorable and it doesn´t really have any pull for me to go back and play it again and again. I´d put it in same list with the likes of Mortal Shell, Steel Rising and Hellpoint. All fine games, which I enjoyed, but aren´t planning to go back anytime soon. - Lords of the Fallen: Probably the closest take of the first two Dark Souls games in the atmosphere and style. The feeling of grand adventure in unknown and dangerous world. It has it´s problems and some hit and miss ideas,. There´s some super annoying sections (DS2 type annoying) where you feel that devs are just trolling with you, but overall I enjoyed it a lot. One of the better soulslikes imo. Also there´s nice replay value, lots to explore, different builds to try etc. - Lies of P: I really like this game. Combat is fun and crispy, good boss designs, great music, everything it does feels polished. Little complaint about the lack of poise system, where even little child (literally) will just force it´s attacks through your attacks, no matter what spec you are playing. Not a big problem, but something where I appreciate From Software games as they usually got these things right. Another thing, Lies of P is awesome for 1-2 playthroughs, but after that´s it´s all seen and done. There´s zero optional areas (apart one very small), zero optional bosses etc. to go and find. There´s very, very limited build options too, so not much replay value from there either. So, a great game for what it does, but in comparison to Soulsborne games and Elden Ring, I usually play those games over and over again year after year, as there´s always something to keep me coming back. Lies of P I platinumed and I don´t really see any reason to go back.

@@Budd631 Yeah the combat is decent but like the UA-camr said , Everything kills you in 3 hits regardless of upgrades which I find is bad game design. I'm up for a challenge but I found nioh 2 just annoyingly unfair. I've finished all from soft games and others but nioh was the only one I gave up on.

Have you played Lies of P? It's much better than Nioh and everything in this game is great, from story to Bosses and combat.

Salt and Sanctuary is a fun game. 2.5D souls. I heard Salt and Sacrifice was pretty mid even with all of the updates.

Nioh is carried by its combat. Everything else is pretty mid. I platinumed Nioh 2 and almost Nioh 1.
