Spoke with him for quite a while one day. He was truly elegant, intelligent, humourous, forthcoming (but not too) and a great raconteur. His departure was one of the most shocking pieces of news ever landed on me. I hope Jack is doing alright. Lots of white light to Margaret, Bridget and Justin. And to Jane. Sincerely yours...

A mutual friend told me Jack is getting well. He’s going on short hikes around Aspen now. I was his neighbor for a while. Jack bought a small farm for the friends of mine near Ledieux, NM. when they were filming in Taos. And he loaned another friend the bread to buy two tractor trailer trucks and get set up in the trucking business. It’s call Two Jacks Trucking. My friend has two Jack Russell Terriers that ride along with him.

My Mom and I saw Easy Rider and Midnight Cowboy as a double feature. Afterwards she said I want to travel and see America. I said I might want to become a Hippie. I think they should have stayed at the Commune. They traveled to New Orleans just to meet a few hookers. That is why I think he said We blew it. RIP Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Karen Black. No one mentions Karen Black but she was a real good actress. I will never forget her in 5 Easy Pieces.

I knew what Peter meant when he said we blew it to Dennis hopper. It took me a while to figure it out then it hit me. Peter had heart and while Billy forgot about the lawyer getting killed and though they had succeeded getting all the money, Peter saw beyond the money and realized that the dead lawyer they left behind was more Important then the money so they blew it with a man getting killed on their trip to Mardi Gras. To Peter the lawyer was more important then the money and they they blew it leaving him there. Billy on the other hand forgets about him here.Peter does not., and so fells bad they left a dead man behind.

The footage is from that part of the film where they've visited the commune, and Peter Fonda is looking at the grain, around the point where he says "They're gonna make it". But I put some sunburst visual effects on it and used a bit of the Stephen Stills song 'Find The Cost Of Freedom', from the acapella live version sung by Crosby and Nash with David Gilmour at the Royal Albert hall in 2006. That wasn't in the film, though Crosby Stills & Nash had originally been approached to write the whole score.

Sadly not, but thanks for the kind words. This was a 4 x 52 mins series which received great critical acclaim on first broadcast in continental Europe on ARTE, and went on the win the Gold World Medal "Cultural Issues", New York Festivals in 2012. However, due to the expense of clearing 16 minutes of footage from the film for those four episodes, we only ever had the rights to show it in central Europe for one year, so no further broadcasts, DVDs or streaming are ever likely to be on the cards - which is a real shame.

@@richardscott3724 Sadly not. We licensed 16 minutes of excerpts from the film to use across the 4 episodes and, in order to make that even vaguely affordable, we had to agree to very limited rights. Basically we were able to show it in Europe only for 1 year. It's not impossible that this will one day be re-cleared for wider viewing, but that's not looking very likely just now.
