Lemme know if you have any questions!!! Thank you for always watching!!
ever hurts to be over protective
Can you include a link to the air blower?
It’s actually a Rigid shop Vac from Home Depot and the top comes off to make itself a blower. Lemme see if I can find it on Amazon
@blue TRD Jon. Thank you! Took my new 2019 TRD Off Road Premium mudding and this came in handy! Thanks for the tips on sequence of products and steps and more importantly, what to cover up. Thanks again!
Hey Jon, do you have any issues with white residue? I want to avoid mistake of the past with degreaser products that end up hazing everything. Was thinking something with close to neutral pH, and cold engine. Please let me know if you have had any issue with that or would change anything in your process. Cheers
Nice - from a fellow Calvary blue 💙
A) That pineapple SanTan is some good beer
B)wet, spray simple green, soak 5 mins, drink a beer, spray
c)sit down in the shade of the garage and drink the other 11 beers staring at your clean engine
It's super good. Almost out of it. I need another shipment lol.
@@TRDJon When we roll down there, Ill bring ya a big ol shipment of some local DFW favorites. Im huge in to beer/bourbon trading
I Love it too man! My bro brought me like 36 or so. So when I head back to AZ next month i'll be bringing him some FL stuff
I’ve seen videos of people damn near driving these trucks underwater while running trails. I don’t think a light water spray will hurt anything.
high air pressure system to dry the bay, AKA leaf blower
Just a good rule of thumb to not spray electrical areas directly. Moisture has a funny way of creeping into areas it doesn't belong. Once again, informative and well done.
Yes correct. Another reason why I really suggest the power washer to disperse the water more, rather then a hose.
I wanna do this to my 2014 fj we've got the same engine but I'm scared to mess something up
Nice! Lifetime warranty! 😃
My Bay Is Muddy As Fuck 🤣
Does not washing it decrease life span or performance over the years?? I just don’t trust myself and don’t feel it’s worth the risk for me.
No it doesn’t at all. Unless you really have mud caked in there.
Very informative.
I usually do under my hood same time as i shine my interior. Once every 2 months or so. Easier for me as it keeps decently clean and very easy to keep it maintained.
Can't argue with that. All the time for the hood will eventually cause issues.
Blue TRD Jon
Like you mentioned usually a quick wipe down will do the trick in between deep cleanings.
Hey Jon, not sure if its a dumb question or maybe I am old school… any risk on getting the alternator wet?
I just blow dry it at the end
How did you get a lofetime warranty?!
South East Toyota and my dealer ship I guess have something going on haha. Power train. Suspension components and I this that’s it. I wanna say electric as well..
That engine bay would look way better with an intake, just sayin...
LOL that it would!
Great video, surprised you didn't unhook your battery to be safe. Damn you Floridian people in your shorts and sandals in February!
AHHAHAHAH it was a cold 60 degree day too
I’ve did several vehicles, but one time one started misfiring like crazy afterwards. So be very cautious .
Oh dang really? What was it ?
Blue TRD Jon 2001 Tacoma with 3.4l
That’s a solid engine too
What happen to to the Trd?
clean your engine bay? are you supposed to do that? ;)
You don’t have to. I do it like once every 4 ish months. Lots of people asked for the video
@@TRDJon I was being a Smartazz, you could eat your dinner steak and eggs off mine! haha.
HAHAHAH really??
why does it matter if the wires and battery get wet? What's the difference between washing your engine or driving in head rain or a large puddle cause that gets the entire engine area wet anyways?
It's more of the direct contact. When its raining your hood isn't open. Yes some water does come in from the undercarriage though.
Hmmm 🤔
Whats with the Arizona plates on the wall?
Was in AZ before Korea and Florida.
Great video! Thanks so much!
Of course!!
Lifetime warranty?
Yes
I really dig that blue truck. Great video as well.
Thanks 👍
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Probably more risk washing it than not just due to tiny corrosion from water in tiny nooks and crannies in electrical stuff. We never wash the tractors and they are dusty dirty all the time
Valid point.
Ive had 9 cars and never had an issue washing under the hood. I usually spray it down with a tire dressing foam let it soak like you did with the degreaser then rise off. Boom looks clean and new.
Didn’t even THINK of that. That would restore a lot of black back to it.
Blue TRD Jon Yupp! I use the armor all tire foam. It’s cheap and does the job. 20 years of using it and never a problem.
I’ll try that next!
this is dusty & can be blown off with air!
Not the mud below
Hey Jon did you cover your alternator?
I did not
