    Seen all the vids of the 748 Thunderbird serie and this last one is like wathing the last episode of a great serie. Thanks a lot. Your vids will help me a lot overhauling my 996 engine for my Monster S4R.

    Great video and series! Please show us some detail of the other Ducs tucked away back there. Definitely film the testastretta rebuilds and explain why there’s a superquadro sitting on the floor there!

      More info coming on the next project next week, the engine on the floor was a clue ;o)

    Hi!! good video and confratulations for your bike.
    I have a question, what exhaust do you use? 45mm or 50mm??
    thanks

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  Рік тому

      Hi, I always use a 45mm exhaust system as its better for power.

    Just bought a 96 748 so planning to do pretty much the same work you have done. Awesome set of videos. One thing I missed was did you use standard rods with the sp pistons?

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  4 роки тому

      On this build I used the standard rods as it is running the standard ECU so will not rev out as hard as the SP. The standard rods are okay with this type of set up.

    Hi Mate ive really found your videos helpful and have given me the drive to rebuild my 748 for the track, i raced the 748 years ago and as it was a BP it was down on power, what mods might help raise power? cams etc i will be fitting a slipper and if possible a bazzaz zifi tc as i use that on my current zx10r, luckily i kept most of my track spares less bodywork, the 748 engine is in bits at the mo as i had the crank reground by chris applebee, also did u buy bearings gaskets etc from ducati or some other supplier. cheers

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  4 роки тому

      HI Ian, Welcome to the channel 👍😎
      To get the best out of a 748 without going to a tuner for head work - Camshafts, SP or SPS variant if you can find some, adjust timing, HC pistons, set the squish to 1mm, set valve clearances to race spec (for longevity not power), blueprint the engine, get a slipper clutch. This should get a reliable strong engine circa 95 - 100bhp depending on engine and dyno. I get my bearing from a variety of suppliers to get best cost. such as 123bearing, simplybearings or bearingsRus. Gaskets I use Athena, I order direct but you can purhcase via a number of UK suppliers. Hope that helps Nellie

      @@DesmoWerx Cheers Nellie, ive already started searching, ive binned the bazzaz/traction control as i cant use it in the class i will be in. main bearings seem difficult to find, do you use the 7207/7307 x2etn or is there a different bearing that works

    Perfect video for Sunday evening :)
    But mate, why did you let us hear the engine screaming on the Dyno 😢
    And for the quikshifter, is the delay the same for every gear ? On my 1200 multistrada it doesn't work well for 5 and 6 gear, I hit a fake neutral every time...
    Thanks for sharing and what a job !

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  5 років тому +1

      Hi Romain, I was sad not to be able to hear it either but I had to work :(
      Will make sure I record plenty of onboard footage so I can post it up
      I will probably modify the bike as well so will get another chance to Dyno it :)
      On the quickshifter the delay is the same on every gear on the Dynojet, I am not sure on Ducati systems, may be able to detemine by gear. Not sure if the Ducati system can be adjusted.
