    0:00 Introduction
    1:04 What are your thoughts on full body MRI scan to detect cancer in an early stage? Are the benefits outweigh the harm?
    4:15 You’ve said carrageenan extract isn’t good but is whole Irish or sea moss good as a source of iodine?
    5:44 Are frozen greens (kale, spinach) as nutritious as fresh?
    6:40 How to reduce swelling in the legs after heart surgery?
    7:23 What are you eating today? Your purple sweet potato aging smoothie is fantastic.
    10:40 Other than wakame anything for herpes?
    11:08 Can you list grain mix again?
    12:30 When was the last time you had a cold or were sick? Curious how WFPD keeps you healthy.
    13:55 Would you recommend vegans take Vitamin K2 supplements?
    15:23 Can diet cause pancreatitis? I have pancreatic insufficiency but don’t drink or smoke.
    16:25 What to eat when you already have dementia and how to pressure hospitals and care homes to give this food.
    18:13 Do you know anything about hypermobile ehler danlos syndrome? I was just diagnosed. I follow a wfpb diet. I also have Asperger’s. I live with severe stomach pain.
    19:20 Does caffeine really affect anxiety?
    21:37 You say humans are frugivores yet you don’t seem to advocate for mostly fruit diet. Why?
    23:05 I am confused because sometimes I reach you need B12 with Methyl cobalamin and sometimes with cyanocobalamin - which should I take?
    23:51 Worst thing you ate recently?
    24:22 Can you explain why sugar is bad for our health? I am an athlete and not worried about calories.
    25:40 Any recommended food or unrecommended food for Type 1 diabetes besides sugar rich foods?
    27:21 Protein restriction over calorie restriction for human longevity? Minimize BCAA’s? Can we be too low as to a detriment on WFPB say protein sub 10% of calories?
    Thank you to our volunteer, Mya, for compiling!

I also have not suffered it *that I know of*....and avoiding crowded places kind of was instilled in me as a child...I'm 65 and our dad really despised indoor crowded places,, but he DID take us to the community public pool in New Jersey when we were growing up in the summers AND to watch fire-works on 4th of July, of course, outdoors.

      Me too! So many people close to me have gotten covid and yet I have not. I live in nyc I went to the ballet we wore masks then went to dinner w 7 other people. I’m the only vegan. They had great plant based options on their menu. All 7 tested positive after one person let us know she had covid. She just happened to be by my side the whole night too. I never tested positive They all lost their sense of taste felt unwell. It lasted within 2.week for each one to get a negative test result We are all vaccinated to the max also. At least the cases weren’t severe. I think a healthy life style is important. All of the people I go to events with are physically active also I know some from the gym but only one other person is WFPB

      @@JnTmarie Interesting......although I'm not a hard core vegan, I do my best to eat a LOT of whole food plants, but I will occasionally eat animal protein...mostly baked fish....and I also religiously workout on a consistent basis.....so I do wonder if this type of lifestyle makes you more resistant to COVID or not.....I suppose at some point it will be "put to the test!".....however, also wonder if some of us (like you) might have a natural immunity to it?? Anyway, good talking and keep being safe.....I continue to wear my mask even at the risk of ridicule which, whatever, I really don't care what others think....as some of my close friends question my still wearing a mask....besides NOT wanting to "get it", I also have a 92 year old mother in law who hasn't caught it yet either nor do we want her to "get it"....

    What confuses me is that protein restriction = longevity benefits, yet beans are one of the healthiest foods in the world.
    Dr Greger has 3 servings a day of beans/lentils/chickpeas etc in his "Daily Dozen", and with the additional 3 servings of whole grains that he recommends, it seems to me that we would get quite a fair amount of protein from eating this way.
    Am I wrong in this assessment?

    • @MindVersusMisery
      @MindVersusMisery Рік тому

      @@wishingb5859 Yes, I know. I guess this debate about protein is going to go the same route as with carbs and fat: That it is villified at first, before people recognize the nuance between different types of fat, carbs and protein.
      It seems to me that the nutrition world is much divided between low carb, low fat etc, but low carb people don't differentiate between simple sugars and complex carbs. And low fat people mix up saturated fatty foods with foods like nuts, seeds and even extra virgin olive oil.
      Not all carbs are alike, not all fats are alike, and it seems that all proteins aren't alike either.

    Refined sugar also causes inflammation in the body, which is not good for any athletes, not only for recovery, but also for performance. Skip the refined sugar and go with oatmeal or dates or some other high-calorie whole foods. I eat bowls of fruit, PB&B sandwiches, and smoothies to make up all the calories.

    • @AnHourOfWolves
      @AnHourOfWolves 2 роки тому +1

      @Jasmin The research doesn't really support your statements. Whole fruits and grains do get converted to sugar, but much more slowly than with refined sugar. It's the atomic blast of sugar into your bloodstream, the subsequent blood-sugar spike, and the following insulin-induced low blood sugar that causes the body to release triglycerides that causes the inflammation from refined sugar. That doesn't happen with whole fruits and grains, partly because the fiber slows it down. Eating some walnuts and dates together isn't going to cause trouble according to the research....

    • @MindVersusMisery
      @MindVersusMisery 2 роки тому +1

      @Benson You are absolutely right. Apart from the nutritional content in oatmeal vs sugar, you have the rapid insulin spikes which triggers apetite, stores fat and causes inflammation. Better to sweeten your oats with berries and fruit.
      Fortunately there are lots of healthy options to have for breakfast if one doesn't favor oats.

    • @AnHourOfWolves
      @AnHourOfWolves 2 роки тому +2
