The funny thing is generic skills can be really good though. Even if it's not pushing their gimmick to the max the consistent damage could be what wins over flash and peaks of the other skills.
@@marielcarey4288 Ashs "generic" S1 can be good, although her low attack makes it really just situational. And theres not too many situations where it would be good, let alone not overshadowed

I personally think his arguments do make sense but tend to lean towards the pessimistic. A reasonable attitude to have towards gacha games in general in my opinion.
Honestly I don't understand why people call Supa a contrarian when he makes objective points. I came to realize alot of AK players on UA-cam don't like being told the truth that some operators sucks. Yes this game allows you to work your way around it but it you look through all the mods you quickly see their problems He already stated that they don't have to be Wisadel 2.0 but it's another subject to refuse balancing. Ash is a prime example you can easily replace her with a 4 star unit and Exusai does her job better. Yes you can use her but it requires alot of investment for that.
GamePress is the UserBenchmark of Arknights. I'm pretty sure one of their editors (the one who said Fuze is bad because of his S2) is slowly drifting into insanity. And SUPAH is literally just a troll, I'm still baffled how he has an actual fanbase
He is okay... He does what a laneholding operator does... his s2 is finnicky to use cuz but its good... Guys he is just good. But there are ALWAYS better operators. At most he is at like specter level good. They say hes bad cuz they compare them to operators today that are better at anything. He is good alright but once you get a BETTER operator than him, your most likely not going to use him.
His S2 isn't even bad, it's just *HIGHLY* situational. And even if it was actually bad, as you're pointing out in this video his S1 is plenty good. I think some people have just gotten used to automatically writing off characters' first skills (especially amongst the 5 and 6 star characters) because an absurd number of them are either generic or garbage. Or both.
Fuze S2 is fun to play around with in places, but the S1 is just a really solid skill. Damage boost and range boost, combined with the chainsaw guard trait of hitting multiple enemies with each attack, and the Rainbow ops trait of built-in anti-air opens up a surprising amount of flexibility and power for a welfare 5 star.
I don't get how people can automatically assume a unit is bad... when the archetype that the unit is in is by default fairly decent as long as it gets an E2 for Block 3. Centurion Guard are pretty good for trash mob swarm laneholding as they are even without skills .-.;; I mean... I replaced Silverash with one from my main lineup back in the day, as well as a defender, because I needed a trash mob clearer and had reasonable ranged units to sweep other stuff. Made me realize how redundant the whole AoE Caster + Defender combo they started you out with was when Centurion sorta covered both roles in one unit
By that same token, the archetype being inherently strong also means he faces pretty stiff competition from every other operator in that same generically good space. And since most players will have already built one of them, someone like Fuze can be a bit of a hard sell.
@@mlhx9181Absolutely agreed tbh. For some people, bad is “they don’t replace my 6*s”, for some people bad is “they work but don’t really have a viable niche to shine in” and for some people bad is “they literally don’t work”. Fuze S1 works on trash mobs, but the little attack gain doesn’t give him much to deal with stronger enemies unlike other centurions. So by that metric, some people consider him bad due to his ease of replaceability, and some consider him fine because aoe centurion with extra range can do their job of trash mob clears, even drones when rarely needed.
I always forget R6 guns let them attack aerial enemy and that does give him a specific niche I will want to build the character for in the future then. Sure his attack isn't that high but I like using Aak so buffing him up so he can shoot faster and harder isn't a problem. The aerial niche alone is good enough like how I will build Tachanka just for the extended range for any future map that will includes hit-count based objective like in RA. And fortunately outside being an 800-CC players, even A-tier operator are more than strong enough anyway which is why AK is a lot of fun to customize to your own playstyle with all the possible combo you can come up with if you don't want to stick to 1-button delete characters as the game isn't really balanced around min-max playstyle where you have to buff a nuker to do any damage. After some point you realize most of the meta bickering is really just a split between people who have resources to build whoever they want and people who can only E2 a single 6* unit per month so any character not meta defining is trashed for "wasting their time".
