Getting back to guitar after cancer. I used to be able to play the chords. Now the lead is something to aspire to. Thanks.
Woke up hearing this song in my head this morning.
You a good teacher man.I have always dreamed of playing that song.I m a new player at 60
First guitar lesson I've seen that I could really relate too. straight forward, here's what to do theory, not a look what I can do theory. Thank you.
This is a great lesson !!! I love the way you relate the notes to the notes in the chords.. I have a new understanding now.. Thank you a bunch !!!
Great tone - thanks for posting.
Great lesson
Thanks Jeff - all your lessons are remarkably great, but i think this one is magic… your approach to teaching makes it very easy to understand the concepts.. Also - really appreciate the backing track - so good!
Hi Jeff, This lesson opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you.
Man, you are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing the real thing licks.
Well done ☺️
Plus that guitar is very cool 👍👍
Hi ya Jeff,
Great tutorial man, the backing track is awesome as well, thank you for doing this. Sadly I haven't stumbled across your channel sooner here, I subbed it immediately 👍
Thanks again, I'll be studding this all morning here.
PS ~ This and probably Blue Sky are certainly up there in my top 5 favorites from this awesome band too, great stuff.
Wow younger bro ,you're really doing well. This is the type of solo I typically would have a framework memorized and it would come out different every time. I've been playing by ear for over 50 years so it's neat to watch it be written out. I decided at 60. I would learn to read music again. So I'm following my buddy's new channel and this one. Gabriel casas. Beginning piano... After I was 50 I figured out I had a mild form of dyslexia. And the written word or written music is difficult for my brain... Not impossible .
but I actually have to read out loud. so I'll probably actually have to play out loud while I'm doing this.
Really good lessons for these Allman Brothers tunes, I really appreciate the backing track for this. I think it's incredible how much mileage Dickey gets out of the E pentatonic, but at the same time if you can learn one ABB tune (or solo/fills/etc.) in those frets then you can learn others without much difficulty. As you say, just slight variations.
Such a beautiful song!
Thanks
Great lesson and production. Subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Super helpful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
thanks Jeff, I needed this lesson, your teaching style is excellent
Thx mane!
It's great to get straight forward concise explanation in a lesson .....most instruction (on UA-cam) focus's on what your doing wrong and why you lose interest in it like some sort of psychiatric exercise ! Thank you !
Yeah, I've noticed that! haha They do it cause they know it's more likely to get people to watch their videos. Maybe I should change the title of this to...You've been playing the Lead Guitar to Melissa WRONG!!!
Great instructional video, the tabs mean soo much. Thanks
Beautiful guitar!

Really well done. Subscribed. Thanks so much. Having the scale and tabs added makes it so much better for learning. Can you send me the tabs in gpx?
Fantastic Lesson. Thank you. I am looking to either get into semi-hollowbody or hollowbody guitars. What is the make of your guitar? Has a great sound. Thank you
Thanks! It’s a B&G Little Sister Crossroads: bit.ly/jwcrossroads
They're pricey but totally worth it. It's the only guitar I've bought online without actually playing it and I love it! I can't recommend it enough.

@@JeffWilliamsGuitar loved it sound and looks. Great tutorial also
@@teddyoverbaugh1246 Thanks
cool guitar mate
Thanks Michael.
Nice job Jeff. Any chance you could show us the Dickey Betts solo in Jessica? I've got the main parts down, but tried using tabs for the main solo and get lost. If not, can you recommend anyone else? I know Betts played it different each time he played it! But there are few fantastic licks in it that I just can't figure out. Thanks for the great lesson! Jef
Hey thanks! Yeah, I made a backing track for Jessica and it's probably the worst one I've made! But... I'm in the middle of redoing it and will have a lesson to go along with it.
@@JeffWilliamsGuitar Look forward to it! Thx Jeff.
Great video, what's your guitar?
Thanks. It's a B&G little sister crossroads.
What type of guitar is that I can’t seem to zoom in on it🤓👍
It's a B&G Little Sister Crossroads.
Thanks man, could you do Alligator by the Grateful Dead
Great tune. I always forget about that one.
the real trick here I think in order to get the great Dicky sound is use of volume swells.
U da man Jeff. That hair is getting long brudda. I got the same mop lol
Haha, I know! It's starting to get a little mullety in the back.
You favor Lindsey Buckingham a lot. Just sayin
Thank You Frank Zappa. JK!
