I was at this gig! What a night. I'll never forget the excitement as they stalked onto the stage to 'Dead but Dreaming' and launched into this great song. They were the best of the 'goth' bands imo. They had a prog metal feel to them, but without the cheese. Great stuff!
@@andrewbranch4075 Oh I know the Mission well. I preferred the God's Own Medicine era, and the compilation First Chapter is brilliant. I saw them on the Children tour, and they were magnificent. I met Wayne at a Cure gig back in the '80s. Really nice guy, unlike Eldritch, who I've also met, and is a complete arse.
Easy... Ηow lonely you are waiting at the sunday park I'll elude you, I will loose you existing were no soul apart Υou stand, stand on a platform your effigy dissolves in my hands when I feel like someone to lie on and I feel like someone to rely on Can't wake up, you can't wake up you can't wake up, can't wake up you can't wake up, can't wake up... Illusions, born of the air something seems so precious there I'll elude you, I will loose you as rehearsal of my despair when I feel like someone to lie on and I feel like someone to die on Can't wake up, you can't wake up you can't wake up, can't wake up you can't wake up, can't wake up... ............................................................
Elyzium is one of my cds i call masterpiece... and i have a lot, from bach and beethoven to massive attack to acdc and ministry... the poetry and music in elyzium is mindblowing GREAT
This is a great song, puts me in trance. It's incredible how music can be so deep sometimes. Elizium helped me through many difficult moments back in my teenage years.
i know this is live cos i was there!!! brilliant gig, only just started to listen to them again after all these years, cant believe i forgot about them
I grow up with this music. There´s no band nearly to compare with fields.Carl is a genius.First song i heard was moonchild and i became a shower all over my body. The album elyzium is art in itself.Carl shows me the way...sorry for my bad english...
There are no words tha can descire them, they're ... don't know.. they are above everything else!!! long live guys! Carl don't stop what you're doin; now!
Agreed, 90% of the Neph's music is brilliant, some ethereal beauty caught in a hall of darkness, as a dear friend would describe them. I've heard the phrase 'For Her Light' in the bible I think, but I may be mistaken. You're though, they're not just a goth band, they really no how to rock as well!
Totally agree with you, because neither band has brought out any great albums in recent years, whereas Fields of the Nephilim released the rather excellent 'Mourning Sun' album which harks back to their incredible albums like 'Dawnrazor, The Nephilim & Elizium.
I remember these guys really well from Stevenage. Particularly Paul Wright and Tony Pettit. I sold Tony my Ibanez bass. They were in a group before called "Filthy Habitz" and had tatoos done of two syringes crossing over with "Filthy Habitz" tattoed above and below. I don't know why i'm telling you this. Just a 40 something reminiscing. Anyway, thanks for posting.
Absolutely serious! I saw them twice on this tour. The ex member of FotN are still going in NFD and Last Rites...doubt they'll ever reform but I keep dreaming! :)
FotN released Mourning Sun in 2005. They've since had a couple of gigs, if I'm not mistaken. Not with the original lineup, of course. It's still a worthy record; give it a listen. :)
These guys were the coolest thing when I was in high school, nobody had heard of them except me and my friends I mean :) I always thought they sounded best live out of all the "goth" bands, and I'm sort of a Led Zep/Floyd guy so I like the bass guitar sound they use and the live drums.
Are you lot aware that The Nephilim are doing a gig in London in May. I still bump into Carl every now and again in Hitchin although it wasn't him personally who told me about the gig - saw it on the website.
The Jonas Brothers is Pop rock brotherman!! :) and u r right the Nephilim never liked the Goth label on them...but be that as it may...they had a unique sound even by today standards!!
Yes it is... some tracks from Visionary Heads are in Earth Inferno too... (Dead but dreaming / For her light / At the gates of silent memory / paradise regained Sumerland, Submission, Last exit for the lost) ... 11Α
The nephilim at their bloated ego best!! I saw this set live at the Town and Country in `91 and was shaken to my core..HOW anyone can compare them to other goth bands around like SOM is beyond me-no similarities exsist apart from the fact that they have both been classified 'goth'...where are they now? I only know up to Rubicon.
I have to agree with you at the end..Reluctantly :) But,emm.. I feel Andy's poetry much stronger, it's about life.. I don't really understand all this sumerian stuff and semi-ocult.. I would go to their concert, though.
Carl&tony and the other members of Fields, they wait Nahemah's,or Lillith's,or Hecate's light (for her light, right?)remember the song SHINE from the album ZOON...bow before Hecate!! ceremoning carl...αχαχαχαχαχαχα...
there is some serious magic happening within this band.
Understatement.
My favourite Nephlim song
Mine as well

You should listen to the mission as well cousin. Children and carved in sand are magnificent albums ✌️☮️👍

This song possesses an incredible atmosphere. I fucking LOVE elizium!

Elyzium is one of my cds i call masterpiece...

the poetry and music in elyzium is mindblowing
GREAT
Acdc is one of the worst bands.
One of my all time favourite songs, great stuff
you stand, stand on a platform, your effigy dissolves in my hands...
One of the most majestic acts ever, by virtue of their absolute simplicity.
Hes a God. The band are angels. its that simple!
Great, but not God
Saw them live in the late 80’s and they were amazing!
Nice profile pic
This is...the best song of Fields...THE BEST!!!
They still shine over all the euroean continent...once heard ...never forgot...keep on Karl and folks
Beautiful. And so romantic...

This is a great song, puts me in trance. It's incredible how music can be so deep sometimes.
Elizium helped me through many difficult moments back in my teenage years.
One of my all time favourite gothic bands.
i know this is live cos i was there!!! brilliant gig, only just started to listen to them again after all these years, cant believe i forgot about them
maybe my favourite song. every time i stay speechless.
one of the best songs ever and above
is right.and one of my favorite songs by them. the final two songs on "elizium" though are just something else.pure magic
the best song from this awsome band!!!!!
I was at this gig too. They're the only band I ever followed on tour and it was always good.
Most F.O.T.N. songs are awesome.. they are definatly in a league of their own and not merely a goth band... and Carl McCoy is something else!! :)
does anybody else have a strange feeling listening to this song ?
Bloody hell they are good!
I grow up with this music. There´s no band nearly to compare with fields.Carl is a genius.First song i heard was moonchild and i became a shower all over my body. The album elyzium is art in itself.Carl shows me the way...sorry for my bad english...
OMG I was at this gig thank you very much for sharing it
There are no words tha can descire them, they're ... don't know.. they are above everything else!!! long live guys! Carl don't stop what you're doin; now!
just mesmerizing
Love it since a long time......
one of the best songs ever and above...
Oh my god, I LOVE it!
This song rocks bigtime...
The guitar is incredibly clean on this one (compared to other live tapes). Great to figure out the tabs! :D
I looked for "for her light" in my Bible index but it didn't show up. BTW, wisdom is often referred to as female in the Old Testament.
Great song, great band
Amazing song from an amazing band. Please get back together again!
I was there. this was the first track I think. Cracking gig, there were three encores i believe. Cracking stuff!
Love this song
i like how this song sounds... it makes me feel very... i can explain...
Fields of The Nephilim \m/
The best album ever.
Non ci sarà mai nessun'altra band come i FOTN, non ci sarà mai nessun'altro album come Elizium.
Leipzig 2008 war der Hammer.
Für mich das beste Konzert des Jahres.
Der Mann ist der Wahnsinn!!!
Die Stimme - der Blick die Ausstrahlung...

Dark, mysterious..Nephilim..
ONE of the best songs EVER !!!!!!!
What a song!!!!

I remember these guys really well from Stevenage. Particularly Paul Wright and Tony Pettit. I sold Tony my Ibanez bass. Great, great song. But why is it called For Her Light?
