Could this be why your BABY is SCREAMING in the CAR?? (What is that seatbelt doing?)

  • So I recently had a patient come through, and as I was watching her click her bub in the car set again, I noticed something odd about the position of the seatbelt.
It was well below the level of the shoulder in a rearward facing seat.
Turns out, thats not the right place - in an email I received from Kids Safe Victoria it was stated "For rear facing child car restraints, the harness straps must be positioned at or slightly above the child’s shoulders, never below." and this was straight out of the National Best Practice Guidelines for Australia: "For rearward and forward facing restraints, use the shoulder harness slot nearest to the child's shoulders (but not below them for rearward facing restraints, and not more than 2.5cm below for forward facing restraints). The harness needs to be adjusted as the child grows, either by changing the upper strap slots, or raising the adjustable headrest."
But why would that upset them?
    Have a watch!
