Bro, thanks again for these. My two tripods constructed almost 6 years ago from this tutorial are still going strong!!!

That looks a lot more involved than what we did in the Boy Scouts 45 years ago. What we did worked GREAT !!

Survival Sherpa Apologies if I came across as being critical. I love your videos! We used rope or heavier cordage , bunched them in a triangle if you look at the polls edge on and relied on heavier cordage rather than super tight wrapping on each wrap, if that makes sense. I found a link of kind of how we did it. Below. Also, I realize that in a survival situation you have to use the corded you have on hand and it will likely be of a lighter weight/less bulky cordage like you were using.
Also yours looks a lot better!

My favorite use for the hook on my Swiss is hooking the bail on my pot to lift it from the fire.

It has many uses. I've found my cork screw is handy for untying knots. Run the point down into the crease and it feeds into the knot to loosen.

It's a good example of American and Canadian telling people things without actually caring to be understood - and then they would say what? You don't know what I explained? And NO I don't! I'm just gonna do a carpenter's frying pan upside down inside out knot here! Yeah ok buddy!

How big can you go and how much capacity can you achieve with this setup?

I lifted a 925 pound sill log for my cabin project with a tripod. The largest log leg was 6" diameter, red cedar. ua-cam.com/video/vq_bwQtqR7Y/v-deo.html

That's a #8 as well, Kelsey. It's a good size for a lot of camp tasks. Thanks asking and watching!

+dewbar2 420 As a matter of fact, I do learn a lot from Dave. I have attended one of his classes and learn from a variety of folks from all over. Copy? Uh, no. Learn from and share the stuff I'm doing? Well, yes. There's nothing new under the sun. Ask Dave. He'll tell you the same thing. Thanks for stopping by.

+dewbar2 420 If it works, I use it. Who ya think taught me? Dave is a great teacher and mentor. Been watching his channel for years. After that video, I stopped using the packaging hook because it kept breaking the bank line, lol.
