Outstanding indeed Corporal..! Huge fan of all your great videos. I watch your videos with my two young daughters to show them how the pros will survive in a bug out situation. I thought I was highly trained in outdoor survival till I saw your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world as well as myself. Keep the vids coming...and last but not least...thank you for your service to our country. Thank you from a Firefighter in the Texas hill country.
I enjoy all of your videos. You explain things simply and clearly and make it easy to learn from.I could comment this way to all of your videos, but I guess I chose this one. Thanks for the outstanding effort.Semper Fi - Corporal to Corporal.
Hey thank you. I watch and am a subscriber. I learned this in the Army as a 12B (combat engineer) 20+ yrs ago . Needed a refresher as I had some some t post and other post that had been in the ground a long time and couldn't get a truck in to help. So built an up scaled version ad a 1/2 or3/4 ton come along and post were out in nothing. Thanks again Brother
Nicely done Cpl., I haven't seen a tripod made in many years, and it's nice to see that those skills of lashing are still out there. Keep up the good work.
Awesome video. I plan to use this on one of my next outings. Quick question: would a timber hitch work just as well for the initial knot, or should I stick with a clove hitch for this?
Bankline comes either twisted or braided. Is twisted better for some jobs and braided for others? If so, which types are best for which jobs? Thanks in advance 👍
+Lea Recio Usinig it to hang your cookware over it as well as for some certain shelters. There are a lot of other uses too (smoking rack, signal fire, etc.) but these are the most common.
These are some of the clearest and logically presented lash/knot videos I have seen. Skills I am sorely in need of developing. Thanks for these.
Seventh Seal Thanks for watching and share the knowledge
@@recall5811 should I buy twisted or braided #36 bank line?
@@sagewilson4938 in my opinion twisted line grips better and is less expensive.

Your videos are fantastically presented. Very clear and like that you pause to show how things should look.
Very professional.

+David Gonyeau Thank you and share the knowledge
thanks man, I gota teach this at scouts tonight, you're a life saver lol
Your knot vedio are the best, so detailed! Thanks much
Thanks, I've never tightened line by using a short stick like you showed, something simple I never learned.
FRENZY FIRE Its called a Toggle and it does tighten the wrappings. Dave Canterbury uses it also
I have watched several videos on how to lash a tripod. This is the best and will be last in my quest.
I'll have to watch this again because the music made me fall asleep. LOL
"That was outstanding!" Lmao
I saw a farmer that was outstanding in his field 😂
Great as usual. Thank you.
Beautiful. I’m going to make a bunch of these to mark a cross-country route. Grassy meadows where mere cairns would disappear, this is the solution.
Outstanding! It's always good to know how to build a tripod. That's some tight lashing right there!
another very good video, keep them coming. thanks
Excellent. Can you do a video on selecting the wood to cut for the poles and prepping them?
A tripod is a very useful tool we can use for a lot of things. Very well explained!
Using that OCD to serve humanity!

This is outstanding. I will be out gathering and building my tripod tomorrow. Thank you sir
Good vid.

Truly outstanding !! :)
1960Plague Thanks for watching and for the support
I enjoyed this tutorial with my son. Outstanding! How do I send a picture of ours?
How do you make the end of the sticks smooth so they won't puncture a tarp?

Hi! Would this work with 4 sticks/poles as well, like a "quadropod"?
Its ashame you used a dark cordage as it was difficult to see the detail but I do very much like this method of weaving around the poles to start with
make videos on how it should be done
@@recall5811 didnt mean to offend, your videos are very informative
That WAS outstanding! Lol
I take it this was done using green wood? Is that preferred over dead standing wood?
Stellar work there Devil
K.I.S.S. Can't wait to try it. Thanks.
Do you recall if the bank line is the tarred type or not? yours didn't looked tarred in the video. thank you
I only show and use tarred bankline. Thanks for watching
Thank you @@recall5811
Great video
Does this work for tripods used for shelters?; e.g. for setting bedding frame poles or roof poles etc to take weight?
Yes it does. Check out the playlist on shelter
tux, made my 1st tripod!
will this work on a largest scale, such as a TP SHELTER.. Awesome videos for survival..
Robert Roeder yes it will, larger poles and larger rope. Thanks for the support
umm im new at these things but will be using them... but dont make fun of me but what is tripods for??

Love the brevity and to the point. No non-sense prattling on trying to make more of the skill than is necessary
