I want to see someone do a settings video like this, but shot ENTIRELY with a kit lens, or at least a sub $900 normal range zoom lens. Like you said, the camera is not really giving you the 'look', but the lens. So if you use a kit lens, or at least the same lens throughout all examples, then people will have an idea of what a camera can or can't do. It's a total let down (in general, not towards you!) when I watch these type of vids, then find out they're using some $5k f/1.2 cinema/anamorphic lens! Talk about discouraging, especially for someone who saved for 4 yrs and finally was able to afford the cam... Sorry if I sound salty. This wasn't directed to the OP! Thanks for the vid!

Well, all I can say is that I once had hot pixels on a $8000 camera and there was also a way to fix it. I don't remember how exactly but anyway it worked and the hot pixels NEVER came back. Not sure if that's always the case though...
Also, great walkthrough of examples and settings showing context, more creators should follow your example of connecting the dots … or maybe not, since that’ll give an advantage growing your fanbase ;)
OK...maybe dumb question but, what does "shutter speed" have to do with shooting video? I can see ISO, aperature, color space, etc, but not shutter speed. What am I missing?
The shutter speed will decide the amount of motion blur. Also, a wrong shutter speed could interfere with other settings, as well as lights in the frame and even the refresh rate of screens resulting in jitters, stutters and flickering.

What should my file format and movie settings be if i record basketball games ?
Since everything moves fast 60fps and 1/125th shutter.

the A7iii doesn't have a 640 iso with the slog-3 setting. It can only go up to 800
Yes, base iso is different on every camera.
