@@JillianPaige how heavy do u lift!!
Me watching this video after just watching five billion Brad Mondo videos pleading not to balayage my own hair: Alright, time to balayage my own hair
SAME hahaha this result is amazing!
Right???
sameee!! in my 45 minute wait now. wish me luck!!
@@marwalh6218 how did it turn out?? I'm waiting right now as well and I'm scared lol
Same here. Everyone else makes it look far too difficult
i am a licensed hairdresser and i LOVE your technique , very friendly for diy very very nicely done.
the only thing i worry about is that people will not feather the 'transitioning' part but that can be easily be fixed with a root tap .
Plastic Replica thank you so much!
@@plasticreplica lol I am licensed too and that first section made me 😬😳 so much teasing. Especially if you want the lightener closer to the scalp
You make it look so easy. Nice job.
I'm not a cosmetologist, but I use coconut oil in the shower for detangling. Would it be a bad idea to use it to detangle after dying?
I love that she didn’t add that annoying background music where I can barely hear the person talk and I’m trying to concentrate on what she’s doing. Of course it looks salon beautiful, still scared to try it though
Marika, seriously go watch my first one. It was my first time not only trying this technique but doing ANYTHING to my own hair. I had no experience, am a clumsy dingleberry (as you can see), and still got an amazing outcome. You can do this!
I agree , I can't stand that loud distracting background music. She did a great job.
This is the funniest and most informative video ever! I love how 'unprofessional' you are, even right down to the glass of wine and getting drunk while doing it, LMAO! And then what a beautiful end result, this is EXACTLY what I want, cheap, easy, fun and a great result, what more could we ask?
I just did this to my hair and WOW. I am IN LOVE. A little hairstory: I have bleached my hair three times doing an ombre. Every time I did it, I messed it up somehow and got blotchy hair. I decided to never do my hair at home again and let it grow out. Today, I had very long 100% virgin hair. Then, I saw you do this! I decided to try it. I went and bought bleach and developer.. NOT the store box bleach I had used before. I know better now (thanks, Brad Mondo). I decided to do a test strand with this method. I did and I was BLOWN. AWAY. It looked so seamless and beautiful. So I did it to the rest of my head! This method is amazing and I seriously love it. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Tessa, I LOVE THIS! Thank you so much for sharing!
Which bleach did you use etc :) thank you for the hope!
After the dentist took my salon money I kept staring at the tub of bleach from fails ago in my bathroom and finally just took the dive today even though I was missing the most important thing (wine lol). I just finished this and through the whole process I was like, "This is a mess. I'm never going to mentally or physically recover from this. This is a disaster." And then WOW! It's better than anything I've ever had done. Thank you so much!
I just did this.. I am OBSESSED! Thank you so much! I’ve done everything under the sun to my hair in the diy world- this is the best job I’ve ever done to my hair.
This makes me so happyyyyy! Yay, friend!
I have much, much longer, dark hair & I’ve done this twice. Originally I started with all of my hair at a level 3, and I did the first time to lift to a level 6. Because I’m lifting so much, I used a 30 vol developer & then treated my hair afterwards. What I learned (very quickly) was that if you’re in the same position as me, it’s going to be sooo frustrating trying to get this done with THAT much hair that’s being lifted with a developer that level, so check & rinse the first foils you put in if it takes you awhile to do your whole head. The second time I needed to go from level 6 to level 8 or 9, so again 30 vol. I thought about doing half of my head at a time to ensure I had enough time, but instead what I did that TOTALLY helped was teasing my hair beforehand as much as I could. That way all I had to do was a quick tease to tighten it, bleach, then next. Much, much easier when you’ve got crazy long, thick, dark hair like I do. The first time was relatively difficult trying to keep tons of foils out of my face lol if you use a 20 vol developer & need less lift, it’d be much easier. But for me and people like me, hope we can learn from my experience so it isn’t such a panicked rush haha it turns out great every time though!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I have also darker hair and want to go on a level 8, I give the teasing a try! Can I ask what a toner u used? I am afraid of cappery hair.
Omg the charisma 😆 I was just contemplating dyeing my hair, didn’t expect such a funny tutorial.
I did this to my hair and wow, better than when I got it done at the salon. Thank you for this tutorial and great tips!
lovee how you are so thorough with the explaination..subscribed!!
Just wanted to say I tried your technique last night and I absolutely LOVE the way my hair turned out. Thank you for a great tutorial!
Thank you for finally making a simple how to video. I have watched many hair videos and this one is the easiest to follow.🙂
This is flippin great! Love that she made a follow up video 💖
This worked so well for me, thank you much for taking the time to post! I used the Manic Panic Bleach set and then Manic Panic Ultra Violet (1/2tsp) with a cup of conditioner as toner.
Okay, this technique is literally SO EASY and came out looking great! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!! This was my first time trying this method out so I was a bit conservative with the amount and the area that I put the hair bleach/dye on but now I know for next time 😍😍😍😍
I am so thankful I just came across this video. I decided to just go for it and honestly halfassed is a bit and it came out FANTASTIC!!! It was so easy and for sure looks better then some people I know that go to a professional!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Can't believe it! Just done that and it actually works! I'm so pleased with the result and its saved me £80 at my local salon. Thank you so much for the really easy to follow video, your absolutely brilliant!
Looks amazing!! I've been excited to watch this since you talked about it on your Instagram. Your first video was how I discovered you! Can't wait to try this method
My first time on your channel and I absolutely loved you and this! Can’t wait to try it once my Amazon order comes in. You are a doll and so informative and entertaining - then I read your story. I’m smiling with tears in my eyes. Looking forward to spending more time here for laughs, good info and inspiration. Stay safe and healthy!
My dear Karen, my heart just leapt! Thank you, girlfriend. Sending you virtual hugs.
I watch a lot of videos but yours is one of the best! I also like how you talk and demonstrate. I'll try this technique and hope that it works too! :)
I tried this last night and I love how it turned out! I used the store box of color because I was impulsive, but I just went and bought the products you linked because I want even brighter color - like what you have - now that I really trust the technique. Thank you so much for sharing - this is just awesome!
Thank you so much! Everyone makes this sound so scary, I'm glad you actually just went in and made a video.
YES! Sometimes you have to have faith in yourself and the rest falls into place.
My all time favorite video for hair. Lol
LOVE the realness!
I find it hilarious and awesome that you posted this! I just followed your last balayage video to guide me in bleaching my own hair. It turned out great but I'm glad to have even more information when I give it a touch up in a few months! Thank you!
Oh my gosh, yay! You'll have to let me know how the touch up goes! So happy to connect with you.
One thing I’m concerned about~ should be rebleaching the blonde over and over, I wonder if we should leave the really blonde ends out.
You're adorable and so likable!! Thanks for putting this out for the world!
You look amazing with straight hair !!!!
I'm here cause of Quarantine and I loved this! I'm going to build up the courage and try it at home 😄 and I love your fun personality, thanks for a great video!
I did these and they turned out perfectly!!! Thank you so much for the very user-friendly tutorial!
You are so welcome! I'm thrilled it turned out so well for you. 🤗
AMAZING!!!! I have always wanted this look but have never been able to get it! So easy and it WORKS!!! Thank you so much!
THANK YOU! 💜 it looks like I just went to the salon and spent 300$. I just followed this tonight I was so nervous doing it since my hair is a longer and super thick. I also just used purple shampoo instead of toner and it came out amazing!
It really is foolproof I’m convinced!
I just went for it and my hair has now been fixed from a bodge job I previously did thank you so much for posting this video it’s helped me so much and your right it’s sooooo easy to do anyone can do it
ive been so scared to do this myself but gurllll you did this tipsy im definitely doing this 😂
You are adorable, I love your honesty about your process and life.
Thanks so much, you really have given me the confidence to try this now. And it looks so nice too. Love your sense of humour too.
Thank you Jullian, I followed your balayage 3 years ago and it worked great. Nobody noticed I did it by myself and I got compliments. I am going to repeat it once again.
Irina Bunakova Irina, you just brought such a smile to my face! I’m so glad!
One minute in and I already love you. So adorable!
I come to these 2 videos every now and then to remember how to do my highlights. Thank you so much for the empowerment! 🧡✨✨
Adriana, I LOVE hearing that! I truly come back to watch it every time I do them, too, I'm like, "Now what's the next step...?"
This is amazing!!! Love! Came out beautiful!!! 👍🏼
Thank you so much for the easy tutorial i’m going to try it since i have the worst roots ever 😩😩 I’ll update you !! xx
You are so sweet. I can’t wait to try this. Your hair looks ahhhhmazing.
You are so adorable and so so good at explaining things! And making it entertaining!!! 🌟
This was so helpful! I have been highlighting my own hair for years and wanted to try the teasing method. The best part is you sound like me when I highlight except I’m talking to myself 😆
I love it so much! Looks so easy to do, I will definitely try it in the future
This video is a game changer! Thank you so much, I followed this video (very badly) and still got such an amazing result. You have saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you
This makes me SO HAPPY!!! It has saved me thousands over the years. Happy to share!
I just tried your technique and it turned out absolutely amazing!! To be honest, I really thought I would somehow f it up but no, perfect!! Thank you so much for your tutorial (: I never would have thought to try it if you hadn’t insisted that pretty much anyone would be able to do a decent job .. ;)
Love from Germany, stay safe and healthy!
This makes me so happy!!! It is seriously almost foolproof, the first video I filmed of it was so clumsy and it still came out great. I'm so glad you had a successful experience, Laura!!!
I tried the technique from your 1st video in 2018 and it turned out great ! And now i'm gonna try it on my mom's hair
Rebellious Oh, I LOVE this! I hope it turns out beautifully!
I did this to my hair back and october and got so many compliments!!! I’m rebleaching it today using this again!
Yay, I love that!
This looks so great!!!! You are so stunning!
Tried this and it turned out great!! I do know my hair and do know that it turns really really orange so I used 30 volume developer Instead of 20 and followed up with a light ash blonde toner. Thanks so much for sharing your secret to amazing DIY hair!
What toner did you use??
I am so interested in adding a toner to this process. Thank you so much, girlfriend!!
So if you have a dark hair or brown it’s better use 30 volume ?? I wish know how much product she put 1 Ounce for the quick blue and 2 ounce for the other?
@@87Marilia yes
this looks SO good!! can't wait until my hair grows out I'll defo be trying this 😍 thank you.
So I randomly searched how to balayage at home and honestly I was scared to just blindly follow this tutorial but that’s exactly what I did! Technique wise it’s amazing ! I don’t know how this works but I ended up with a balayage that looked professionally done ! I am so thankful to have seen your video and your explanations are spot on for the technique. I did have prior knowledge of what volume developer to use and how to tone so that helped as well. If anyone is sceptical, just try it and have faith in this video , literally all the reviews are good for a reason. Also follow some brad mondo videos to see how to tone and what not ! Thanks girl ❤️❤️
This video literally saved me! So easy and looks professionally done
Omg that actually turned out amazing!!!! Wow
This is absolutely helpfull, thank you.
I tried this today and it came out gorgeous.
If I didn’t see this video, maybe I would not have the courage to do it haha
Amazing results!!!! Thanks for sharing, I will try your technique on myself. 😄
You are so natural, so humane 🤩Really love your video!
thanks for the updates. Your hair came out gorgeous and I'm super excited. I love your commentary because I also love cheap, always have always will. This is my first time bleaching and I have been very, very frowny at how expensive it is(to me) to bleach my hair and keep it healthy at the same time. I'm going to add fun colors and have been trying to decide how and I'm going to use your method.
Yes!! My boyfriend and I keep laughing and quoting to each other, "I like the cheap stuff. Always have, always will." You and I are frugal sisters! I made a video of doing this for pink ombré here: ua-cam.com/video/4RIR8i4vlEs/v-deo.html
Oh my gosh thank you so much!!!
I have asked countless hair dressers how to handle the tease!!! No one would reply so thank you for the tips much appreciated 😊
this is seriously so helpful, and you have a lovely personality -- thank you!!
omg your hair is gorgeous i’m gonna try your method❤️
Girl - ur a star - here’s my questions
1) SHOULD I do this during quarantine
2) can u show me how u curl ur hair because I’ve ALWAYS thought ur curls are sooo much better than mine and would love to know how u do them!!
1) Um...ABSOLUTELY
2) Yes! Thinking that will be my next video :) I'll let you know when I post!
Train with Jillian Girl you rock! I loved the first one I put out and I love this one too!! Looks beautiful & you are so beautiful!! I love your positivity!! It’s infectious!! Much love from Texas!!🤩😁🌼🌸🦋
We are all doing this during quarantine, hey 😹😻
Okkk. So I followed your video and OHEMGEE it turned out amazing! I have really long hair (butt length) so I was afraid of it being spotty. It was def difficult getting all the pieces saturated. But if you’re reading this comment: go for it! You won’t be disappointed!
After watching you video (what feels like) a hundred times, I finally tried it today and it worked out so well! I am so grateful - thanks to your tutorial, I feel fabulous in my diy hair and empowered to continue practicing and improving with my own style! :-D peace and
Carmen, this makes my heart swell! I am so happy for you and grateful for you writing me. Happy Valentine's Day!
Wow! Came out beautiful!!!😍
Love this video! I think I finally have the confidence to try it out! And if it goes bad, well at least we're in quarantine and no one will see lol
Rebekah F exactly! Take your time and I’m sure it will come out beautifully. You’ll have to let me know how it goes! ❤️
Hi, how did it turn out for you? 😊
Holy moly it turned out soooo good!!
Great job! I've done this before, many, many times. I have no interest in paying for it again!
S A M E ! My friend offered me a discounted salon hookup after seeing this video and I was like, "...but why tho?"
Can’t wait to try this!
I just followed your video. I only had a blonde box dye, it was the L’Oréal excellence in shade 01 and then a purple shampoo and conditioner. Thank you so much for your video because my hair is absolutely perfect, I actually prefer it now then to how I usually get it done in the Salon. Can’t wait to try it out again in a few months and using the same products as yourself. You’ve saved a girls hair during quarantine! Thanks again from Ireland 💚
Oh Emma, this just made my day!! I'm so happy for you, girlfriend!
Was your hair dark brown to start?
Yassss!!!! I can’t wait to try!!!!
It looks sooo good!! wow
I’m shook!😱 it looks amazing!👍 trying to build up the courage to do this on my hair🤞
Jessica, YOU'VE GOT THIS! Read the other comments to find that confidence. :)
I am absolutely scared to try this but seeing how nicely you did it, I am hopeful to give it a shot 🙈 so will comment again after I've tried it
Looks amazing! I need to do this! 🤩🙌🏼
Just tried this method today and it didn’t come out as great as yours I was scared to do a lot of it , but it came out good still ! ❤️
Oh my 😍, next time my hair grows out I am doing this !!
Amazing, I bleached my hair for years..over the past year I let my natural hair (dark blonde/medium brown) grow out, I had about 5 inches of regrowth and felt the need to do something!! I wish I would have found your video last week!! I bleached my entire head because the babylights I did with 30 vol turned out too brassy and not skilled enough to do twice! I would have totally tried this!! Next time I will!! Thanks girl!! Just subbed!
Noooo! But so happy you can try this next. Let me know if you have any questions and how it turns out!
can't wait to try this! thanks !
You are so adorable. I'm definitely gonna try this. Both of your videos are awesome. 🥰
Thank you, Savanna! You'll have to let me know how it turns out.
Thank you so much this video! I tried this and I love the results!😍🔥
Nikolett, YAY! I love hearing that!
I don’t usually comment on videos but this WORKS! I did it last night and while it’s very time consuming, it turned out great! This is also my new favorite bleach. I used it with 30 volume developer for an hour and then toned it with t18 and 10 volume developer for 20 minutes. I went from a medium brown box dye with no highlights and my balayage is a pretty light ashy blonde. Will definitely use this technique again! The only downside is the tease took a while to get out and the back is difficult to do, like she said. But it was 100% worth it!
YAY Hope! Ugh, this makes me so happy. The tease is annoying AF but someone in the comments said to try brushing it vertically instead of horizontally so I will be trying that today!
I’m so excited to try your technique. You look beautiful and you have a magnetic personality. Love love love❤️♥️❤️
My friend, thank you!!!
I am so excited to try this! What an awesome video. Also that huge glass of wine cracked me up.
I'm literally lolling right now. Is that a big glass?!? That's my regular pour 😂
No bright toners need it? wow, it's so beautiful! love it. one of the best balayage videos on youtube so far because of your detailedness, thanks!
She tones it with the purple shampoo
Thank you so much!
Holy crow that turned out amazing!!
I love this, I have just one suggestion though: backcomb more gently. Because as a result you have some area that look stripy. That way the gradient is more gentle. I’ve been doing this with my hair for a long time and it really helps. It also lessens potential damage from trying to brush out newly bleached hair (big no no for me). Keep up the good work!
Hello from Portugal! I found this video yesterday and today I will try it. Thank you for the tips! XoXo😄
Tried this method today (wine included) and it came out brilliantly!
Yay yay yay!!!
You're so fun 😂 fully enjoyed this whole thing ♡♡
I did this on my hair today and it looks amazing! Thanks for posting this :) x
That makes me so happy!
I tried this and it turned out so good
Wow I wish I had watched this before going fully blonde ( regretting it as I wish I had the balayage look instead with my natural dark brown hair), but my sister wants to go blonde as well (I refuse to let her go full blonde and regret it. Especially since I fried my hair off) and I plan on using this method! I can’t wait to do it on her and see how great it comes out!
I’m emboldened now! Thank you!
You are so pretty and full of spirit! Good vibes girl!
I am so glad i found this video 😂😂 just had my hair done at a salon, and its absolutely shit lol. Ive always done my own balayage but this time thought id trust a salon 🙄 so i am deffo doing it myself and using this method! Deffo got a new subscriber here!
its gonna b my first time and this is the video i really needed to watch 😍 thanku so good! prettyyyy
I just wana say this video made my day!!! So I’m a nurse from Tucson, and I’ve been doing my own balayage for about 3-4 years now Bec let’s be real, it’s so expensive. I hopped on you tube today Bec I wanted to up my game with how I do my hair on the back so thought I’d search for other techniques. Then, omg I watched your video and I just died!!!! Love your personality and IDGF attitude! I do mine pretty much the same way, plus wine and all girl! I was waiting for you to get to the back and when you said you just gotta “peak though” 😂 I died laughing because it’s SO true!!! You just have to be brave, tease the shit out of it and vwaalaa!!! Presto! Def worth saving a 400$ visit. Great video, thx for the post!
Oh Wendy, you made my day! Thank you so much, my friend! I just re-did these today and have done it so many times that now I can almost FEEL how to do the back, I don't even need to see it, haha. Thank you for the love, I'm sending it right back at ya!
Omg in love with your hair and the arms😍 it’s so toned. I wish mine are like that, i need the upper body routine 😍😂
