Hey Dusty, can you share any details on paints, greases chosen, etc. I have a 2H I am swapping on for my H and I want to follow your steps. This will be my first swap and I am in the US where my sources are very limited for HJ45 so your videos are very helpful. Also, any photos for how you prepped before spray cleaning or painting? I want to be sure I protect all the right surfaces. Thanks in advance
@@JaredS47 I have a H55f ready to go into my BJ42, these videos are great and really well presented. I’m looking forward to seeing how the internal well will look.
@@AidenFitzpatrick thanks mate, I wish I made the video more detailed tho, interior should be good when it’s done, going to try and keep clean but practical
This is inspiring me to keep working on my HJ47. Can you tell me what the difference between a early, and late model 2H is? I've heard that the cross members in early HJ47's (before 10/82) are not compatible with the H55F, but I have no idea when mine was made. The compliance plate is missing. I guess I'll have to have a look underneath. Keep the videos coming!
Good to hear mate. Early 2Hs have liner bores where late models don’t, engine numbers and block castings will tell you what you have, I’m not to sure on the cross member situation, but I can tell you that mine fit fine. 1984
Cheers mate, front driveshaft needs to be extended and the rear shortened, and the flanges on the 60 transfer are different so either the companion flange on the tranfer needs to be changed or the driveshafts
This is probably a silly question ....so I have 83 HJ47 if I was to source 5 speed from late HJ60 2H will it fit in my Tunnel hole without having to cut any extra out ? Any info would be great
The box will fit fine, but the floor plate where the sticks come through will have to be modified, and a late model gearbox with transfer won’t fit as you need a early model transfer without the vacume 4wd select
Jared, thanks for putting together a great series… I just save and download over 20 episodes…should be a great weekend binge marathon ..love it
Watched all 23 episodes today! Loved it! I need to import one of these to Canada! Thanks man! All good stuff!

Hey mate, love the videos, just wondering what paint did you use on the engine?
Great videos man, cheers from Texas ‘87 HJ60 owner with an after market turbo. Let me know if you want to see the setup.
Cheers mate, I would love to see the rig and set up
Nice to see you working on your LC man what are you doing with the old engine you think I can get a 12ht engine ware you are thanks for the video man
Cheers mate, old engine is just a spare for now, 12ht are hard to come by, not many round my way.
@@JaredS47 thanks for the answer and I no they are many 12ht thanks again
Hey mate love your work, just wondering if you can tell me what has to be done to the drive shafts to fit a 5 speed

@@JaredS47 thanks mate, waiting on episode 24👍🤙👍
Good work. Gives me motivation and confidence to keep working to restore my hj45.
Where are you located in Australia?
Good stuff, south coast nsw.
Jared could you tell me what book you got the specs for the flywheel etc from in the video please.
It all came from the factory Toyota 2h Manual.
What engine paint/brand did you go stuck on well and works with hot engine ?
