I have 18 years of experience in IT and could not achieve much in professional life. Too much politics, toxic environment, as**ole managers. I advice people to go to office only for money. After office, enjoy the life as much as possible. Focus on family, don’t make friends with colleagues
I am a public servant and to all the unemployed or students watching this please note this video is not for you. Under current market condition and lack of government vaccancy if you get a job whatever the salary or posting is just JOIN IT. Toxic culture of less salary is far better than staying unemployed. Once you get employed then you can decide what to do next.
I am 45 and I still feels fresher by heart and mind. Have worked and working in good product company. If you are skilled and in continuous learning mode and technically strong then I don't see why anybody will have any problem? Stay relevant or mindful, skillful and work hard that's it. Thanks
Precisely you have hit the nail on head, learning is critical, i am 45 and I do better than 25 year old kids, since I keep learning, so there's no issue, rest all is bull shit. Company needs talent and you are paid for it
I am 32, thinking about joining an IT company. I was good at programming in my college but I was from mechanical engineering. I am doing a PhD but the University is not much interested in the program (I don't know why they admitted us). I am not getting fellowship since a year. I could apply for a PhD in other better universities but now I want to build my career in a software company especially related to AI or Data Science. Is it possible to get a job with no experience?
Actually my interpretation is success and happiness are not having any correlation between them. Happiness is practice which we need to do daily to earn that irrespective of anything. And success comes from determination to achieve your goal. Happiness doesn’t arrive from your success then every big players/celebrities/businessman would have been happy and rating top.😊😊
I decided to transition from the IT sector to a position in the government sector. Although the salary is lower, I have gained more authority, increased respect, and ultimately, I find myself much happier.❤
I am also thinking for Gov job preparation while doing Btech bcz I don't want unstability, job insecurity and upskilling with time as I want free time for me to explore things, my simple aim is decent money in Gov Job, live with family and a small business/self employment. Is this possible in Gov jobs?

Staying relevant through continuous upskilling is essential, but the reality is that while refining existing skills is feasible, mastering entirely new tools or technologies becomes increasingly challenging with age. The days of thriving on a single skill set are long gone. This creates an existential challenge, especially after 40-if not certainly by 50.
Very informative podcast. As a introvert I agree with your opinion to be a expressive but it's not easy to make yourself expressive. Love from Pakistan
To every 40+ year old software engineer, 1. Dont shun any opportunity to learn new skills while on the job. 2. Always always talk with your manager about how your experience and decision msking skills is helping the company goals. These are your weapons which recent graduates dont have. 😇 3. Take up initiative for mentoring role for new hire or a junior level engineer. You are not only unburdening your manager but also being an irreplaceable asset this way. And yes take a day off every month just to work on your resume and keep it updated!

It is the problem with core service based companies. If you switch wisely to product based companies, banks etc you can succeed in terms of money and also job security. I know people with 45 years still working as a Data Analyst .
Get into mechanical bro, Salary will be less, in the initial years, but it has stability. My seniors who were in mechanical haven't changed company in last 10 years, and they were good students. You will have of stability there, ofc you will have to keep upgrading yourself there too.
Don't get confused choose whichever is fit for you. Because wherever you go you will find challenges. Be strong enough or prepare yourself that yes I will face challenges and I will train myself to tackle those challenges. Best wishes
