Hello, It is really great work that you are doing, I was just wondering if we can refine it more to get individual species of plant cover ? and what kind of satellite imagery would be required for it
Why is the gray level value of my Landsat 8 bands (low - high) after downloading not from 0 like your image but it is a different value from 0? Is your image pre-processed?
My question is, what are the steps to follow when we work on landuse landcover and Space-Temporary Dynamics of vegetation of an area. Finally how to calculate accuracy assessment?
Hellow sir. Sir i have a project of urban saprual cause reduction of mango farms in multan city.i am a student and an average arc gis user.what process i can adopt to plot this issue in map form.will and use land cover technique help in this case.plz help sir
As far this part i have created NDVI image. But i don't know how to calculate the area. Like how many hectares Dense vegetation ? How many hectares sparse vegetation? How many hectares water body? Like that. Please help me to find out
Dear sir, do you used pre-processing data of landsat 8 which u did in qgis. When I try to open the qgis corrected images then the images will not appear and the value of image index exceed no. 1 in both high and low index
Thanks for the video, i have sample plot each of 25m diameter, and i want to get the ndvi value for this sample plot. how can i access that ndvi value for particular sample plot?
Can we clip NDVI data(after creating) only to our study area? or we need to make it seperately? you showed study area later with clipped NDVI. how to do it if i dont want to repeat the whole process but want to clip it only to my study area?
Its very simple. You can clip your study area before the operation or after as well. Just go to spatial analyst tool, then Extraction, Extraction by Mask.. You may watch the following video how to extract study area from Image ua-cam.com/video/JMGvmDeW1-0/v-deo.html
Hey! I am an urban planning student, therefore i use these data as a user. Do you use Radiometric Calibration on each bands' central wavelength? And do you think its necessary or not considering i am an urban planning student and not geodesy student
Dear Sir, I want to calculate the supplemented urban green space to transform the city to be a green one ? How many method could we do this object? Thanks
if my study area had more then 50 LS tiles, then how can I calculate NDVI for so many tiles. is it possible to mosaic them first and then calculate? and if so, then i have to mosaic separately for different bands.?
Hello, sorry I am doing the same kind of task however I am getting values between -3.6 to 2.8, different to -1 to 1. Do you think that I am doing something wrong ?
NDVI values are ranging from -1 to 1. Very low value of NDVI corresponds to barren areas of rock, sand, snow, cloud etc. Moderate values represent shrub and grassland while high value indicates temperate and tropical rainforests. Bare soil is represented with NDVI values which are closest to 0 and water bodies are represented with negative NDVI values. You can classify following the NDVI classes; -1 = Water Body 0 = Bare Soil, Rock, Sand and Snow, Cloud 0.2-0.3 = Shrub and Grassland 0.3-0.5 = Sparse and Unhealthy Forest >0.5 = Dense and Healthy Forest Hope it will help you. Thank you.
I just uploaded Watershed delineation video today. Just go through the link ua-cam.com/video/JAQVT4z8ZEw/v-deo.html Also I am in the way of uploading how to calculate Stream density as well. If you find my videos helpful, then please subscribe me to get more cool Tutorials. Thank you 🙂
If you have any queries, feel free to write me in comments section. I'll be happy to help you :)
Can you make a video of how to collect data for NDVI and NDWI calculation from USGS website
On what basis should we seperate the breaking values
Can you share the word file in which you have written all of these
please make a ndvi video on two landsat images
Hello, It is really great work that you are doing, I was just wondering if we can refine it more to get individual species of plant cover ? and what kind of satellite imagery would be required for it
where to download landsat images and how do i extract agriculture land
What NDVI formul should used for Sentinel-2 image? And GNDVI for Landsat 5-8 and Sentinel-2? Thanks!!
How did you decide the ranges for shrubs versus other vegetation? Do trees and grass generally have a higher NDVI?
Should we need to change the break values ?

Which satellite data you have used in this.?

Why using "float"?
Thank you so much for your wonderful video 🎉
You are welcome

Hello are you already got the answer? I currently work on this and still not know how to figure this out

Actually I had the same question. And after extraction you need to do the same again.
IF my study area comes in two tile then do we need to NDVI separately one each tile and then we need wo mosaic bother tile to extract the study area?
First you need to mosaic and then perform NDVI.
@@GISRSSolution then for each band we need to mosaic separately, or we can composite both bands first and then mosaic?

Same here😅have you figured out how to solve the problem ?
@@aryalin6083 What I did was to apply a color classification so, anything below -1 was set as -1 and anything above 1 was 1.
I'd like to ask you is your choices for the 4 values of classification precise?
It depends on you or your analysis for study.
Why did you not explain what files you added into ArcMap before finding NDVI. That would have been helpful
Landsat 8 image downloaded from may be usgs.
نعم كأنا الفيديو أكثر من رائع شكرا جزيلا
Please can you create a video on how to download the Landsat data. There are so many to choose from its not as easy as DEM
Please check my videos
which data you are using?
Landsat 8 from USGS Earth Explorer
how to calculate the threshold value of NDVI
How did you get threshold value for waterbody, land ?
NDVI values are ranging from -1 to 1. Very low value of NDVI corresponds to barren areas of rock,
sand, snow, cloud etc. Moderate values represent shrub and grassland while high value indicates
temperate and tropical rainforests. Bare soil is represented with NDVI values which are closest to 0
and water bodies are represented with negative NDVI values. You can classify following the NDVI classes;
-1 = Water Body
0 = Bare Soil, Rock, Sand and Snow, Cloud
0.2-0.3 = Shrub and Grassland
0.3-0.5 = Sparse and Unhealthy Forest
>0.5 = Dense and Healthy Forest
Hope it will help you. Thank you.
@@GISRSSolution is there a reference article for this estimation please?
@@tobssportshow2831 same question here
Before calculating the NDVI index, do landsat images need to be calibrated?
Why are you choosing float before?
Float is not necessary while you calculate. So you can skip that.
Very nicely explained 👍 can u plz share the band formula for sentinel satellite image?
What will be the Formula for Landsat 5? thanks
For Landsat 5, NDVI=(B4-B3)/(B4+B3) Subscribe this channel to get more Tutorials. Thank you :)
Thanks. Very helpful
Welcome
Please make one video on Forest Canopy Density (FCD) in ArcGis
I'll try. Thanks.
