- This video will help to easily classify an image and to calculate the area from it. Creating NDVI and classify the map is so easy. I used Landsat 5 image here. For that, I choose my red band as band number 3 and infrared band as band number 4. You can find the download link for Landsat images and here are some of the videos I have created earlier.

Thanks so much for very helpful tutorial.
You are welcome
Thank you! this is helpful video. i don't know how to calculate the area without using polygon or shape file until i found your video
I am glad that you've found it.
Pardon my mistakes. To calculate the square km it have to be divided by 1000 * 1000 = 1000000. I missed one zero.
How about meter?
you helped me so muc, thank you
@@matheusspelayon Your most welcome
Really thank you, God bless you
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you Mr. Kazi Almuqtadir for uploading an informative video on NDVI. Can you add a video on Cloud Removal from satellite imageries
Asalam Alikum
Can you make a video of how can i calculate ndvi by using a very high resolution satellite image
Sir, how do we know the break values for the classify range?
When I categorize and enter values manually, which is better in determining the values.. a value of zero or -1, or we leave the values as they are?
What if the area comes by itself and shape something what do you do. Do you still calculate area
Hi, very helpful video but is this possible to use this area calculation part for calculation of LST area?
Of course you can. As a matter of fact this the procedure to calculate area for pixel. So you can measure any kind of raster image by this process
How to find water body, vegetation, buildup area agriculture etc.
Each of them has their identification value. You have to put the range in the classify table to make classes. Watch this video carefully you have all YOUR answers here.
You are welcome
why should count multiple by 30x30? the count variable is already represent the 30x30 area rite? 30x30 area is counted by 1?
The image resolution is 30 meter. That's why you have to use 30x30. For 10m resolution it will be 10x10.
how to convert the square km to hectare?
Nice
Please solve same problem with QGIS
I will. Thank you
the field calculator is not adding the results to the attribute table. I might have done some mistake
Watch the video very carefully
How can i export attribute table into Excel

Hello, pls can I get a value range for NDBI?
Yes, go to properties and symbology. In the classification menu you can find min, max, mean, st deviation. Thanks
to find the square km ,,, it should be divided to 1000000, u missed one zero
Thank you for the correction. I missed one zero.
@@KaziAlmuqtadir but thankyou.. it was really helpful.
You are welcome.
how about envi ?
You want to do this in Envi?
Yes and i need help.. I dont know where is the pixel of végétation in envi
@@abirmechkour67 Actually what we have done here is creating and NDVI of our area. NDVI is filled with just numbers from -1 to 1. So, you have to create NDVI and find that file and set your range value.
Yes i know 't i need to calculate area vegetation and the percentage
@@abirmechkour67 Honestly I am not very familiar with ENVI interface. I can help you to create NDVI in ENVI. But I can't help you furthermore. Sorry
how to find the area (1000000)
1km = 1000m
So, 1000 * 1000 = 1000000
