Recently washed my son’s down jacket, and I used regular washing detergent and just washed it regularly. You mentioned in this vid to make sure rinse it for more times to make sure no leftover washing detergent from the down. Wondering if I should go back to rinse the jacket few more times in clean water?

Don’t use regular washing products, use pure soapflake instead. Extra rinse cycle to be sure all detergent is gone, especially if you intend to then use a wash-in proofer, to add DWR to the jacket.
