When Red Velvet have a concert in Toronto, wendy invited some of her high school friends and her teacher and they take a picture together
Wendy auditioned for cube and got rejected, she also auditioned for yg and got rejected and then she auditioned for sm. Actually all the rv girls auditioned for sm none of them were scouted :) Wendy actually even invited one of her teachers to go to her concert and that same teacher is the one who students claim still talks about her to this day saying “I once taught a kpop Star wendy from red velvet” or something like that. It’s funny because once in a while a couple people from her school will pop up and talk about how they went to school with her and that she was really nice. One of the Olympic gold medalist was actually in the same golf team with her and shouted her out on Twitter
and she was the captain of that golf team the olympic medalist was in despite being the youngest,, found credentials on twitter with the list of all her achievements, she’s amazing.
Wendy auditioned for cube & yg but did not make it, then she auditioned for sm and got accepted.
Thank god she got rejected by yg and cube. Sm suits her more.
And she just accompanied her friend to audition in sm yet she got accepted, She's really destined to be in sm and in Red Velvet
WENDY HAS 4 OCTAVES. No wonder she is considered the best vocalist of the 3rd generation. But in RV songs she doesn't show her voice fully and it's obviously that she can sing difficult songs because she has a good technique. Even this video is predebut you can hear that she is very talented and has a really good voice in predebut (like she sing beyonce song) and wonder how she improved her singing skills.
A lot of idols actually get into companies by being scouted, but Red Velvet is the only group in SM where all the members got in through auditioning. Wendy auditioned for Cube and YG and I’m pretty sure she must’ve auditioned for more companies but didn’t get through until the she tried out for SM global auditions in Toronto. She actually trained the least amount of time out of all the members which is pretty insane to me since it must’ve been hard to keep up with the rest who trained for more, but shes amazing. But yes, I attended the redmare concert in Toronto. Her music teacher came, her friends came, her parents and sister came and it was really emotional since it was the first time she was back since she left to Korea to become a singer, 7 years I think? You should watch the ending speech they did at the Toronto stop even in your free time (there’s a full one on WNC channel on UA-cam), it was really emotional and heartwarming and everyone was crying- anyways, thank you for reacting to this 😊 Wendy deserves a lot of love 💕
Wendy and Joy trained the least maybe that’s why Joy and Wendy are like soulmates
The fact that she only trained for around 2 years really explains why she used to be so conscious of her dancing. Even if we thought she did well during Happiness she's the one who lived through all the times she messed up during practice.
@@JupiterXin Joy trained for 2 years, but Wendy trained for 1 year and 6 months, but people just keep rounding it up to 2 years

ya wendy auditioned for sm after originally being rejected by cube and yg, thank god tbh. wendy often sings with this type of soul in her ig lives. she used to sing a lot with her chest voice which resulted in her getting nodules. after, she basically got trained to use her mix voice during live performances and rv songs to not strain her voice as much. it makes sense, considering how much they have to perform and practice singing. kpop songs also prefer 'pop' style vocals so she def doesn't use as much soul as she does in the cover. i became a fan cause she actually went to the same highschool i went to in richmondhill Canada. she's rlly well known :)

There’s a lot of videos of Wendy singing maybe idk there’s one time she sang the choir at her school 🏫.Shes really selfless she used to have a UA-cam channel but got deleted since she needed to debut I saw this on the internet she sang a song and someone was like commenting on her like(their opinions not really good opinions I think)and thank the person for their opinions for her singing no matter it was good or bad she would thanked them That’s how much of an Angel she is

i believe because of nodules she never sang like this again, she started singing lighter advised by her trainer
It's just a stylistic choice. Koreans prefer a clear and bright sound that's why she lightened up her mix. That also makes it easier to belt which is expected of her in her group's music. She had a very intelligent trainer because he helped he navigate a difficult period but also set her up for her future as a singer in Korea. Also, vocal nodules is nothing but an inconvenience for a few weeks in the majority of cases. If it was really bad she would have had to undergo surgery. Adele had the worst case of it I seen in a pop singer but she is still singing well. @@stankep1er446 Yea the audio from the video with the C6 wasn't clear enough. But she gets up to G6/A6 easily like in RBB(D6s) and ladies night, unsupported of course. She has access to the 6th octave just(saying just about anything in the 6th octave lol) gotta develop support.

@@yungwells6549 According to Wendy, her nodules was pretty bad back then(predebut era) she can't undergo surgery that time hence she just had injections which were painful, and her voice wasn't coming out. All these was mentioned by Wendy from one of her interviews.
One thing I like about Sm is that they recognize talent and potential early

this was for the best,if she was in yg she would be blackpink’s main vocal for sure,they wouldn’t put her and rosé in the same group,i think rosé suits blackpink more and wendy is perfect for red velvet and sm image
