I wish I had half their skill. These poor people do not have a Ryobe Tool Kit to play with in their garden shed but do a magnificent job with ancient tools
This is for sure to get views. What about the balance, if it lasted long enough, the imbalance shake everything loose. It had a bunch more cracks also. I wonder if he sat around the preheating fire eating lunch while waiting?
Every time I see one of these videos and them using a stick welder they have the settings wrong the weld looks like chicken splatter. Does anybody know how to use a Mig or TIG welder over there
This break is way too clean.. when a spinning flywheel breaks, it comes apart violently, the PCs would all be knarled from bouncing around in the bell house ,not to mention destroying the pressure plate and disc..there would be no way for any of the PCs to even fit together …hope, this is a clean break done by a hammer….
This flywheels been repaired twice before .. notice the threaded center, and the large crack on the face previously welded. Time to toss this one boys …. But I think the previous commentary is correct, they did this just for the video… I can’t imagine them actually using this flywheel now. Plus, kind of suspicious that this broke right in half… a flywheel breaking in use almost always comes apart in a lot of PCs and the PCs are knarled like craze. This break is way too clean
Agreed. All these "aMaZiNg RePaIrS!" videos are now fake. No different than the trend a few years back of people building "shelters" in "nature". It's just another business now.
The more I watch these videos the more I suspect that the materials are not to accepted standards, I have been around engines all my life and have never seen so many blown flywheels cracked gears or tractors breaking in half.
This is very dangerous, noway this will stay at one piece, it will shutter in a higher speed and those pieces will cut through the bell housing into the cab and through the driver are you aware of it???
Not a repair anyone should attempt. When that thing lets go at about 5000 rpm it will come through the floor and take off your feet at the ankles!! Ask Don Garlets (drag racer) about that! Some things should not be repaired.
Comes with a 15 second warranty 😂
You're welding ground wire is a sight to behold.
The pre-heating was pretty crappy...get it! lol
Some part you just shouldn’t want to repair. 😮
these guys must just raid the scrap pile for something to post on video.
Interesting way to bodge a repair, but there's no way on earth that I'd bolt that flywheel back onto any engine, it's a catastrophe waiting to happen.

just saw this and I'm still in aww 🤔nice job but what about the other side 🤔😎😎

That weld.... its like I never used a welder, me neither hold my beer

If you can't buy new, repair!

Do you plan on putting this back in service without getting it balanced? Not a good plan but then look at how your trucks get over loaded.
Who are they kidding......That flimsy repair would never hold up. I think they did it just to make a video.
I agree.

Why not just make a new one? They have all the tools to do it.
brilliant people!!

At 4000 RPM you lose your feet.
Unreal
Hello ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
This flywheel should be renamed to IED. Improvised Explosive Device !!!

The repair looks terrible... Two small bolts holding the center hub. That thing's going to blow up as soon as you hit second gear.
Just thread it
Will probably last longer than the OEM.
Is this some kind of joke???!?
