I think Xiaomi has developed it's videography to a extent where it can compete with Samsung and apple but the short film is awesome and the quality is also like the cinema cameras. A big thumps up to Xiaomi and team for this amazing phone.
That's the power of Sony's latest LYT 900 Sensor (1 inch Dual Layer Transistor Stacked CMOS sensor with 14EV Dynamic Range) and Lieca Summilux Lens system...!! 🔥 It's first of its kind technology and a recent breakthrough in camera technology industry by Sony!
I came here for the phone but stayed for the story and the exellent job of the director. very easy to follow. kept it profassional and funny in the same time. Kept the intention high and mysterious but not too much. idk im in love with this work keep it up
the phone has a nice soft cinematic quality to it that you wont see in a samsung, which is usually oversharpened and over saturated. it lacks the dynamic range and detail in an iphone though, but if it's in a controlled situation it can be quite a good handy tool. Of course it's no arri or sony venice, but it's surprising to see xiaomi take a step towards a more cinematic look instead of the cheap oversharpened, over contrasted and over saturated look that most phones have in order to trick audiences into thinking that it's a "better image quality"
Might be unpopular opinion but these phone companies should stop collabing with photography camera companies like Leica and Hasselblad and instead collab with video camera companies for movies such as Arri, Red, Blackmagic etc. as in this day and age of Tiktok, IG Reels; as most people would prefer to have really good quality videos being taken by their phone over artistically interpreted colors of their pictures.
@@Ell-mucho I was talking about shifting the priorities to the video cameras over photos and investing money and RnD in videos because most people take more videos than photos. That's why I said most people would prefer. Turning of the Leica mode in photos wouldn't make the videos look like it has Arri color science unless they collab with them and build hardware and software in the phone.
I’m a videographer and I shot with a iPhone and have shot with just about every iPhone there is and I can truly say this camera on this phone has a way more softer and realistic natural cinematic look to it..
Ok I am so impressed. Send me UA-camrs don’t know how to use a phone to film and this is one that really excels it off to the DI in the director for making this great story on a device.
In some scenes is clear the lack of dynamic range and how it struggles to keep a consistent frame rate, specially inside the car and house, otherwise yes it looks great, but I rather see a short film without all the equipment and lightning and drones and cranes, and not set unrealistic expectations to your target audience on what they can expect from the phone in a normal setting
Yes, I definately agree on the point that there is a lack of dynamic range. In some scenes, the colors look washed out and just looks weird, take an example at 3:00.
That's because of post production color grading. The highlights looked overly suppressed by the editor to produce a particular soft pastel faded cinematic look. I've used the camera in Master Cinema mode and it's mind blowing!
The camera looks good, but naturally has too much depth of field, which is no wonder with such a small lens. Therefore, the images appear very cluttered with materials. I wonder why a library, an antique shop were chosen, as it stands out extremely. Nice grading. And I'm glad that no beautiful car was harmed during the making of this movie.
1. No one in the TikTok and IG Reels crowd has any clue who Arri, Red, Blackmagic are. And these are names that carry no hardware marketing weight. Leica, Zeiss and Hasselblad do even if all they do is selling their names and logos. In an age of bullshit, it's a pretty harmless one and makes everyone money. 2. The phone struggled miserably with limited dynamic range and blow highlights trying to be overly corrected. That said 99.99.99% of whoever watches this will not notice it or pay any attention. 3. This could have been shot in any high end phone or iPhone of the past 5 years and it would have looked exactly the same. 4. What makes this or any image capture look good is the people and professionals behind them that know how it's done and have the budget for it. 5. The movie is super dope, loved it.
The clipping is because of post production to match the color grading. The image sensor you're questioning is Sony's latest 1 inch LYT 900 Sensor with groundbreaking 2 Layer Transistor Stacked CMOS technology providing 14EV of dynamic range and 16bit of RAW data along with Dual ISO Fusion Max which boosts it to 16EV of DR and 21bits of RAW. While saving the video data in 12 bit REC 2020. The dynamic range it captures can't be compared with Samsung or iPhone. Do the research! I've compared it with my Sony A7C full frame camera.. And Xiaomi 14 Ultra is mind blowing. I don't wanna use my full frame camera anymore. When I've got similar dynamic range and crisp Lieca Summilux Lens clarity in such a small smartphone size!
They ignore us. They ignore clients. I bought it for LOG video but can't use it, because Xiaomi don't tell me which color space, gammut I should choose
This company’s emblem brings to mind the subway logo in Mexico City. likely a mere chance like GIORDON’s emblem which resembled the Mexican National Social Security emblem. Ooo wait they did copy it😂
It does not look as this phones was handled by a team experienced enough with mobile photography, I seen much better quality videos and for controlled environment I would expect more from someone who is trying to sell this phone to us. Look at cinematic advert short stories.

IMHO they beat apple and Samsung since Xiaomi 11 ultra. For 8k video.
I quit with samsung because their colors always look so fake if you compare it to real life footage

Yes. I like your idea.
But the artistic mode of capture is optional you can take a normal video. Which would be less artistic and more normal

no way this one has been re-uploaded it again twice in a row
anyways this is by far the best short film i ever seen but it was funny 😄
The highlights are almost blown out because of the dynamic range. But overall i like the picture quality
This is "Leica" filter.
如果你可以后期调整照片,你会感受到16档动态范围的恐怖,你感到过曝的部分拥有超级丰富的信息量,只需要后期调整高光部分
I don't see any 14 stops. and 16 too

I just rewatced the behind the scenes and noticed that the colours and light looks fine in the preview. Probably it's a problem of data conversion?

Absolutely blown away. The one inch sensor really shines here. What color grading did you use?
Highlight issues still remains 😢😢
Maybe because of the size of the sensor??
Very gud .. nice
The camera was fantastic, but let that on one side, but this short drama was funny and interesting. "Another day in eternal city"😁

How to interpret LOG video from Mi 14 ultra? Which lOG format, color space, gammut we should choose?
Pretty amazing for a smartphone
Guys at xiaomi, how many times did you re upload this? This is the third time i see it reuploaded, and the third time to watch it all lol
what settings in camera
is it 4k LOG?
really cool.
I've bought it. 😍
How is it doing so far? How is battery and overheating issue? I'm interested on buying it but that keeps me on the fence.
@@jchinchilla.r I bought it for my girlfriend . Battery has no problem because she's wear camera kit all time ( +1500mAh ) & very Fast chager. 🤩
