Maryville, MO | Instense Storm Footage: NWS reported tornadoes (EF-1) close up! 4/16/2024

In the morning of April 16, 2024, Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, MO reported that there were no tornado warnings, but two tornadoes in rain touched down in Nodaway County northeast of Maryville, MO just ten minutes earlier while I was standing at Wal Mart The Auto Center working. It had a maximum path width of 25 yards and peak damage winds of 75 mph. A tornado caused one injury according to the NWS and no injuries were reported with this tornado. I'm thankful no one was hurt!

That was quite a rain wrap you had there! The downspout in your footage was working overtime to handle the load. Glad you're all safe! (Wow Maryville has certainly grown since I lived there while going to NWSMU years ago!)
