I don't understand why people are complaining here. It's like buying a permanent lottery ticket. Plug it in and forget about it. It is only $50, who cares if it never wins a bitcoin, at this price point it is not an investment it's a gamble. If you buy 25 powerball tickets your odds are still a lot lower. Not to mention that is only for one drawing.
I think it's cool just as a mini display of the BTC price. I think that's worth $50 right there. However I have to disagree about the comparison to the Powerball. The odds of a single ticket for the Powerball jackpot is 1:292.2 million. It is also an unrealistic experience compared to real Bitcoin mining. Serious miners invest in more powerful machines to compete effectively in the Bitcoin mining world.
@@afterbirthbob It does exactly what it's advertised to do and exactly what this video outlined. I don't think we ever say it will compete with ASICs. And some people don't view purchasing this as an "investment." It's okay to buy things as a novelty/hobby. That doesn't make it a "scam." Also didnt a nerdminer hit a block just a week ago?
The fact you both are defending this so much speaks volumes and getting lots of "I got X of these" shows you should be taking care of you community better. Not showing them the best snake oil yo buy. pointing out how it technically is what you say is akin to some grifter saying "ohh you didn't read the fine print"

It's a fun, CHEAP way to learn about mining. LORD! IT'S INCREDIBLE HOW MANY OF YOUR FOLLOWERS ARE BUTTHURT OVER THIS!!!
Right? It's funny.
Blows my mind lol, god forbid someone buys something for fun and the novelty and its not promising groundbreaking returns lol
why do people think you will make anything from a $50 miner... this is for fun don't buy think you will make a cent back. buy the real thing for 2.5k-7k...
agreed, if you want a real shot at solo mining a btc block w/ a mini miner you need a bitaxe, if you want to mine for real buy a whatsminer m60s, if you want a fun btc ticker that mines on your desk for cheap, its the nerdminer
Nerdminer is NOT a miner, no asic chip, only cpu mining. Better to say clock and price display.
a miner does not need to have an ASIC -- a cpu miner or an ASIC miner or a GPU miner are all, miners.
Mined hundreds of bitcoin on my 2011 MacBook CPU, which I deleted because I needed room for a game. 🥲
Nice
Ridiculous
Ridiculously awesome bruh
This is the biggest scam
its a bitcoin toy, it does exactly what it advertises it does, just because you don't like it doesn't make it a scam. want a real mini bitcoin miner? spend 4x+ and get a Bitaxe, want a full-size Bitcoin miner? spend $3k+
Thanks.
If only it was this easy !
How’s it not?
Mine are on their way
Got one on BTC and Doge
Cool Toy! Going to order 1 for fun.

😂😂😂😂such a scam!!!
Just because you don’t like something or it’s not for you doesn’t make it a scam. This is not a scam, it’s readily available hardware that does exactly what it advertises it can do.
