My oh my!! Memories!! 😢 thank you!!❤️
Excellent song. Sax and steel guitar nice!
This song has Louisiana memories and life memories for me. Thank you for honoring it!
Memories 🤗🤗. Watched Solid Gold regularly. This was from a time when music was at it's best 🎼🎼🎼.
The horse on the album cover for this song was drawn by the late comedian Phil Hartman who was working as a graphic artist while trying to get his comedy career going.
Wow, I had forgotten this song! Brought back a bunch of memories! Thanks Chad for the live version too. Nice to see what the singer looks like. So much incredible music in the 70’s and before!!
I agree. The music of the 70s was so very good. Looking forward to your weekend of reactions.
I don't think I've ever even heard of Poco or this song before, but I really enjoyed it! You're absolutely right about '70s music! One day a few years ago, I realized that I seemed to be into any '70s disco (and '70s disco-sounding) music I heard. So, I decided to try out a '70s disco station on the music streaming app, Pandora, to see if I really was into it and it turns out that I was! I got more and more into it until it became my favorite kind of music. That, eventually, got me into other old music as well, as I'd never really been into any old/older music at all before: other '70s music, but, even, older and later ('later' meaning mostly '80s and just a tiny bit of '90s) music as well. But, '70s disco, meaning the late '70s, has always remained my favorite kind of music ever since it first became my favorite. I knew that Andy had been the host of Solid Gold, but, when you said you were going to be watching a Solid Gold performance, it didn’t even cross my mind. So, when I first saw Andy at the beginning of the video, I was surprised. But, that reminded me that he was the host of the show.
Love your reaction to this Chad especially when the sax came in. I've not heard of this group before but this song has made me want to check out the rest of their stuff. Love discovering new music. Thanks for this and I'm looking forward to whatever else you have in store for us this weekend. Love surprises xx
I have been a huge fan of Poco since the 70's and had the pleasure of seeing them in concert back in the early 80's. Such an amazing band. I still own several of their albums. One of my favorite songs they did was Rose of Cimarron. Also, Crazy Love, Indian Summer and Magnolia are superb as well. Please consider checking these out, they are wonderful... there are sooo many songs that they played that were amazing.
Blast from the past. Haven't heard this in ages. 👍
That's a steel guitar. Rusty Young from my neck of the woods in Missouri
New subscriber, absolutely love your covering the songs of my day! Oh how I was surrounded by such talent and didn't appreciate it fully, until now!
Thank you Chad!! So many good oldies and Andy!❤ great song!! Thank you for bringing these back to us. Many wonderful memories for me. Would love for you to dive into the group America! FABULOUS! Yes music is medicine for the soul!!!!
Yes, Music is fuel for the soul 🎼🎼. America was a fabulous group.
Another one you really need to do is Keep On Tryin. Such a beautiful song.
Good evening Chad,. This is a very cool song from the past. 👍🎶🎶🎶🏙️. Thanks guy 😘
Voice with energy
I don't remember this song and I like Poco. Enjoyed the song. Thanks for featuring Chad.
Nice. I don't recall there being many live performances on Solid Gold. Watched it religiously during the Dionne Warwick hosting era. We were so desperate for music television back then. No wonder MTV took off.
Great song that I haven't heard in a long, long time. Makes me sad and happy all at the same time. Thank you.
Oh yes! I had forgotten about this band! There were so, so many I grew up listening to. Thanks for bringing back this beautiful memory! Loving the sax! 🎷Another awesome review! Keep ‘em coming Chad! 🎶🎶
Oh I love Poco 😊❤ love this song 🎶
I haven't heard that song in forever and I have to say when I first heard it again I really felt weird it's almost uncomfortable but in a good way I think , but the saxophone I love killer sax
Very nice looking forward to more
Great comment about trying to enjoy doing what we do while smiling everyday, Chad. As you said, life is too short & I learned that years ago when my husband passed away unexpectedly. I raised our 4 sons on my own & at times it's been a real struggle. Poco was also our first date in 1983 as they played at a local college....so this song brings back many memories & emotions.😥
💕
Loved this song back in the day! I knew the lyrics by heart ❤ I'm kinda rusty now 😂
Thanks for this!!
_YW! Apologies for taking sooooo long!_
That's Rusty Young on the pedal steel guitar
Also, so everybody knows, "The Midnight Special" has a YT channel and they are posting many many great performances, including lots of Bee Gees, Linda, Rod Stewart, and many more. The Audio and Video is so much better than what you can find that came from taped performances. I am getting the biggest kick out of watching, I fully remember where I was listening to particular artists in my (or my best friend's) living rooms. Chad, check it out. There would be some great LIVE performances to react to. Maybe some already on the list.
I LOVE The Midnight Specials new UA-cam channel!!🎼Burt Sugarman (the shows creator-producer) is behind this new project & said it was long overdue to get the channel up & going. He also said eventually they'll have footage from all past performances & interviews on it.👍
Funny you should mention that though theBee Gees were wimpy little girly boys that went traitor with Disco!!! Instead of the usual one song garbage this is Poco at their best

Yeah, nothing like some country rock. Doesn't it have a great California sound - think Eagles? You might want to check out the names of some the group personnel throughout the years- some are familiar. A steel guitar and a sax! Great tune and artistry.
Familiar personnel? Yeah, it's interesting that when Randy Meisner left Poco, he was replaced by Timothy B. Schmidt. Then later when Meisner left the Eagles, he was again replaced by Schmidt.
@@waynett8810 I got to see the Eagles on their 1995 "Hell Freezes Over" tour. There was a lot of smack talk going around that Timothy B. Schmidt's voice wasn't up to the task. He blew everyone away.
@@janicetrimmell6897 That must've been a fantastic show! I've always been partial to "I Can't Tell You Why." His delicate voice is amazing. And now the delicate voice of Vince Gill is also in the Eagles lineup.
@@waynett8810 It was the best concert I ever saw. A friend got us some great tickets on the field at UT in Austin.
Pedal steel guitar!
I thought the Andy Gibb intro was intentional. He hosted and guest starred on lots of shows.
He and Marilyn McCoo made Solid Gold even better than it already was with all the great music.
That instrument is a Steel Guitar.
Now in the age of speed, this song stops us from the fast pace we live in! It's a slow, sensitive and full of love song! People who have time can recharge their souls! Thanks Chad!
Nope most of their shows were fast and rock not just the wimpy stuff
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN Thanks for the clarification!
I don't know this American band.
I strictly gave my opinion on this song!
JUST SOME FRIENDLY ADVICE HERE, WHEN YOU HIT YOUR 50S, DO NOT BLINK YOUR EYES BECAUSE THEY'RE OVER IN AN INSTANT.
It's a steel guitar...
Steel Guitar Chad.
Subscribed, but I will skip the BeeGees.
Hey Buddy. Saw these guys a buch
