Chris, sorry to rain on your parade, but this isn’t the case. I also enjoy these (now) oldies and remember all the words, but research shows musical memories are often preserved in Alzheimer's disease because key brain areas linked to musical memory are relatively undamaged by the disease. You’ll need to try something else to test for Alzheimer’s. ☹️

The 70s was a diverse but great time for music (I'm class of '78). On the folk side we had James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot. In progressive rock we had Yes, Kansas, Styx. And we had Led Zeppelin and Queen, Heart and Fleetwood Mac. We also had Billy Joel and Elton John, Bob Seeger and Foreigner, etc., etc. The late 70s brought in Disco (for better or worse) with Bee Gees, Donna Summer, etc., etc. Just powerhouses in every genre. Most of us didn't really think about genre too much; we just liked what we liked. My record collection wasn't huge but it was diverse.

It's a combination of a great song and great engineering on the mix! Notice how the flute sound sit in you right ear and the congas are playing right above your left ear. The great thing about music in the 70's is the stereo mix. You had a limited number of instruments so you can really hear the separation in the mix versus current artists who will use up to 128+ in the mix down!

Definitely try Bread - "Make it With You", a 70's band you need to hear. Lots of other hits from them but this is one of their great love ballads.

I love that y'all did Firefall! I just saw the lead singer and bass player live in an Eagles cover band. They keep playing with friends and touring. They played You Are The Woman on their set. Strange Way is their banger, which was a huge hit. Amber would love Cinderella because of the instruments. It was also a big hit. Just Remember I Love You was also a big hit. Headed For a Fall is another banger of theirs. So glad you are visiting them. A great band of the 70s. The lead singer/lead guitarist is still belting it out today!

Hi guys, the 70's is a very diverse decade. This isn't what they used to call "Hippy Music" . This was music mid to late 70's for the college age, 30 somethings, that really enjoyed a variety of music and were not so much into the disco vibe that was the popular radio music at the time. These groups were kind of an alternative to the disco dance music and was more known for easy listening and new musical instrument artistry. I would highly recommend these groups for your further enjoyment: England Dan and John Ford Coley "I Really Want to Be with You Tonight", "Wildfire" By Micheal Martin Murphy, and my favorite "In the Heart of the Night" by Poco.
It was kind of the start of another kind of music genre that developed in the early 80's called "Yacht Rock". Which has kind of an ocean feel to it, but has that same lightness and sound.

"Cinderella" was a minor Top 40 hit but you have to do a reaction just based on the lyrical content. It touches so many lives, whether we realize it or not.

Amber, you're right. It was I Love The 70's. I remember it well. Pretty sure you can find it here on UA-cam. And the 70's we're indeed great. For more Firefall try Strange Way or Just Remember I love you. Those are really nice.✌

I bought tickets today to see these guys next month and check out the strange way to show me you love me by these guys that’s my favorite song of theirs, but I’m pretty stoked to see them live. I was in grade school when This was on the radio. I was a childhood in the 70s. It was the best time to be alive. My radio was always on. I had my banana seat bike with sissy bars, my skateboard baseball bat glove in case a game broke out in the neighborhood school. I had everything I needed.

I appreciate your perception of this song. This is probably my favorite song and I was born in 1970. This wasn't recorded until I was 7 in 1978, but that Flute part especially and this song in general really pushed my addiction to Music over the top.
I was fortunate to meet the Flute player Dave Muse a couple of years ago at a Firefall concert and got a signed CD of his. It was amazing.

At the lowest point of my life - I sat one day and turned on the radio, and the song that came on was "Just Remember I Love You" from FireFall. I will never forget that moment because it felt like a message from above.

FIREFALL was definitely NOT a one hit wonder group; they’ve got a handful of good songs and you just hit entry level. There’s more here.
Now do YEAR OF THE CAT by Al Stewart; you both will feel better after doing it.

Good old Colorado band from Boulder Colorado.
At least as of a few years ago, they were still playing locally, minus the lead singer (Rick Roberts, of "Flying Burrito Brothers" and other bands) I'll never forget seeing Bob Seger at McNichols Arena ("Big Mac" for you Colorado peeps) and Firfall opened up for them.
They were roundly booed. I'll never understand why.
My favorite Firefall song is: "Cinderella". A harsh heartbreaker if ever there was one.
You should check out the song "Colorado" by Rick Roberts

70s were full of music created by a diverse artists with many backgrounds/influences themselves( classically trained, Gospel, blues, jazz, folk) playing for a public that was open to whatever sounded good.
Tijuana Brass, Stevie Wonder, Maynard Ferguson, John Denver, The Who, Yes, The Carpenters, Abba, Bee Gees, ect.
