Especially considering bands were paid royalties for each song on the album. If a song took up an entire album side it was paid the same as a 3 minute song.
I got to see them at the Newport Pop Festival in 68 in Costa Mesa, Ca. - it was amazing and I played the hell outta this album. Refried Boogie just kicked ass. I still play it till this day!
1969, 2 weeks after Woodstock, a young lad of 15 is listening and tripping his ass off at the Texas International Pop Festival. Survived all 3 days and still here to talk about it.
They blew my mind then and still blow my mind now - I feel very fortunate to have experienced these bro's back in the day - along with many other bands that can't be touched with the music these days - and this album cover was a journey in itself with the addition of a little sunshine if ya know what I mean - it was a time to BOOGIE
Saw Canned Heat and Badfinger at Roberts Stadium , Evansville , Indiana .. in 1971 , Tickets $ 4.50 .. $5.50 day of show ! Still have Canned Heat Frisbee .
saw them in concert in '69. a local band (Love Special Delivery) opened followed by Buffalo Springfield, then Canned Heat, and then the Turtles. After the turtles finished their set, everyone from the show came out on stage to sing Happy Together. a singularly unforgettable concert.
Haven't listened to this in 45 years. Yes, it is a self indulgent jam, but hey, what the hell. And yes the drummer and bass player did hold it together.
A VERY WONDER YEARS TO COME TO A LONG WAYWARD IT COMES TO ALL OF THE WORLD TO HEARD IT IS STILL ON TO EVERY SATURDAY MORNING AND WE GOT GOOD TIMES, THANKS O' lord blues sound were so so great for that,
Yea man same here cept it's been 52 years now brother and the music just keeps down the drain so to speak but that's jus my lil ole opinion. Peace to anyone who comes here after goin up tha country to the great pandemic, bless uTube for being here jus so I can find the really good sounds !!!
Bought this LP in 1968. Played Refried Boogie very loud on my stereo. Still today, listening to Blind Owl’s opening riffing, he’s got the power to stay almost silent when the audience want him play more. A great performer.

Agree - underrated and underappreciated by all the musicologists and especially the drummer "experts".
This song goes on for 41-freaking-minutes!? Talk about value!
+redcat608 Excellent Comment
one full two-side LP was needed to record it ;)
Their live boogies could go on for one hour.
Perfect comment--music value baby!
got to see these guys live many times .....every time was special ....guess the yellow sunshine acid did not hurt the experience ...
Especially considering bands were paid royalties for each song on the album. If a song took up an entire album side it was paid the same as a 3 minute song.
Mesmerizing! It brings back so many memories. As soon as you began to hear this everybody knew it was time to BOOGIE! The whole party began to boogie.
I got to see them at the Newport Pop Festival in 68 in Costa Mesa, Ca. - it was amazing and I played the hell outta this album. Refried Boogie just kicked ass. I still play it till this day!
Don't forget to Boogie!

I still have my copy of this album what a great song. Brings back many memories Love this song.
1969, 2 weeks after Woodstock, a young lad of 15 is listening and tripping his ass off at the Texas International Pop Festival. Survived all 3 days and still here to talk about it.
This is a perfect performance.
One of the greatest bands ever. Unfortunately with quite a sad history.
But they live on in their music!
They blew my mind then and still blow my mind now - I feel very fortunate to have experienced these bro's back in the day - along with many other bands that can't be touched with the music these days - and this album cover was a journey in itself with the addition of a little sunshine if ya know what I mean - it was a time to BOOGIE
Sure do. Sunshine and some Canned Heat boogie.... mighty fine time.
cannot agree more . love from south coast England...
I know exactly what u mean.. went into that album cover a few times! Saw these guys a half dozen times ..one of my favorites
God, I live for this stuff!! (For all Blues & R'nB since the late '50s!!!)
Love the transition back into the song after the amazing guitar solo, go the Heat!
Saw Canned Heat and Badfinger at Roberts Stadium , Evansville , Indiana .. in 1971 , Tickets $ 4.50 .. $5.50 day of show ! Still have Canned Heat Frisbee .
Hi saw them many times London HydePark,Timless Talent
Canned Heat was incredibly great back in the day. And they are still incredibly great today.
saw them in concert in '69. a local band (Love Special Delivery) opened followed by Buffalo Springfield, then Canned Heat, and then the Turtles. After the turtles finished their set, everyone from the show came out on stage to sing Happy Together. a singularly unforgettable concert.
I need to buy this cd, had the album in high school 70's but wow I need it again! Saw the Heat twice!
Thanks, Super song and band, one of their best for Sure, love it
Fried and refried I love the boogie! “Are you really experienced”?
canned heat 2021 baby!
Alan my blue boy.
Por siempre en mi corazon. ❤
Orange Sunshine and Blue Cheer tripping!
Haven't listened to this in 45 years. Yes, it is a self indulgent jam, but hey, what the hell. And yes the drummer and bass player did hold it together.
A VERY WONDER YEARS TO COME TO A LONG WAYWARD IT COMES TO ALL OF THE WORLD TO HEARD IT IS STILL ON TO EVERY SATURDAY MORNING AND WE GOT GOOD TIMES, THANKS O' lord blues sound were so so great for that,
wow...I forgot about this album...my first exposure to THE BOOGIE BEAT....miss the band too.
Such a treasure of a nearly extinct GREAT band! The album as a whole is amazing, but this is a true testament.
That album converted me 46 years ago to the real music.
Good Man
It's been 52 years, at this point.
Yea man same here cept it's been 52 years now brother and the music just keeps down the drain so to speak but that's jus my lil ole opinion. Peace to anyone who comes here after goin up tha country to the great pandemic, bless uTube for being here jus so I can find the really good sounds !!!
better CON than PER...then again , maybe same difference ?.
Amen to that, brother!!
Bought this LP in 1968. Played Refried Boogie very loud on my stereo. Still today, listening to Blind Owl’s opening riffing, he’s got the power to stay almost silent when the audience want him play more. A great performer.
When they slam back in again after that awesome instrumental jam at 39:23, oh boy. What a band!
thank you very much for sharing 😊 still have the vinyl record 🤟
The walls are melting, mannnnnn.................
Told you to split that 4 ways but nooo
@@menninblack3558 that's pussy shit... you think they were cutting microdot in 4 ways? No. Do the whole thing or dont do it at all ;)
So cringe
Das beste Live-Stück ever!
Saw them in 69 first time at the Texas International Pop Festival.
1969 Texas International Pop Festival, Canned Heat playing until the Rooster's crowed. Great memories.
I was there all 3 days and nights saw Zepplin there while tripping on strawberry mescaline...
I wish I could been there!!!
