I’m new to the planner community but have been a long time scrapbooker.
I’ve made my own front covers using dollar tree’s plastic cutting boards. Cut the plastic cutting board with a guillotine paper cutter , not a regular paper trimmer, cause that won’t work. then use the WRMK planner punch for the binding. It punches through the cutting board like butter! I’ve made my own stickers books using this as well 😊 best thing is that the covers only cost $1.25! It comes with 2 per pack!
Great ideas and great video. TFS.
For anyone that may need to know: at times, hobby lobby has packs of lots of scrapbook paper for just a couple dollars. You can't see all the prints but you can tell some colors and if it is varied or only a few prints. If you like getting mystery supplies I highly suggest checking their clerance for those paper packs! Also, always love your spreads with paper included! Thanks for more ideas!
Thanks! I didn't know that!
That's awesome! I had no idea...so I will for sure be looking for that. I love Hobby Lobby paper
What a magnificent video, your ideas are stunning, I love it, I had purchased many stickers books and something I have to figure out how I use this in my planner, but your video has motivated me to use everything I have. Thanks am so grateful to you, keep doing this fabulous videos which am sure inspire many who likes to work on planner books. Take care lots of blessings
Aww to happy to hear that!
Most of the ideas for using scrapbook paper in your planner that I've seen before have focused on decorating ideas. I love that you included functional uses for scrapbook paper! The colorful boxes and journaling flip cards are BRILLIANT.
omg why didnt I ever think of this! paper is so much cheaper than those expensive sticker packs and you have so much more control over how it looks! Thanks for sharing!
I went to my Joanns looking for the house paper. I couldn't even find online. I love it!
Thank you for these ideas I just bought some paper in clearance section and had no idea how to use it..
just found you..I am a paper crafter...your ideas for wonderful..
I am always inspired when I watch your videos, & often incorporate your ideas into my planner. Thanks for providing such great content, and such great, creative ideas!! 💖
I would add that this is more lightweight quality paper and in my opinion the best for adding to your planner actual cardstock is heavier and will add bulk to you planner. Great for dividers, dashboards, and covers (under the frosted cover)! Either is perfectly fine but these openstock paper are perfection!
Yes totally! I actually prefer the lightweight paper to use in my planners but the paper pads that I get are actually a heavy cardstock...they do add some bulk but I usually only use those around the holidays so it's not too bad lol
These are sooo smart! I’ve always added full boxes but now I can make spreads extra extra matchy
Great ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Lynn!
Can you do a currently page tips and tricks video, I’m struggling with it. I have been enjoying your 10 tips and tricks and I appreciate everything you do, thank you so very much for sharing this video and now myself and others have other ways to use scrapbook paper.
Great ideas! I love using scrapbook paper in my journals and planners. I have used it to make monthly dividers and to cover up the left side of my weekly spread. Thanks for the ideas.
Such great ideas !!! Thanks for sharing ❤
I've always used a planner for day to day stuff and have recently gotten into journaling through Silk and Sonder and have gotten some cute, great ideas on ways to decorate my monthly journals. To date, I've only used cute stickers to decorate them. I recently bought some scrapbooking stuff from someone off a local FB site. I was interested in the pack mostly for the stickers since I wasn't sure what I would do with the paper which came with it, so I decided to search for ways to use scrapbooking paper and found your channel. You have given me great ideas! I just recently purchased some washi tape off Amazon and at Hobby Lobby to try too and loved how you showed how to make washi tape out of the paper! I do have a question about the tape you are using.....is that something you buy in the scrapbook section of the store? I've never seen tape like that, it reminds me of correction tape, and I love how easy it looks to use. Forgive this dumb question, but I've never scrapbooked before so this is all new to me. I'm excited to get a trimmer like you have as well! Thank you in advance to anyone who can answer my question.
Wow! This is amazing. I am a functional planner but I love color. This will allow me to use the same sheet anyway I want to...thank you
Love this video - 7/15/23.
Would like to see what type of titles you have for dividers.
Thank you!!!
Great video. I suppose you know there is a Happy Planner punch that is the size of the daily squares. I have one and use scrapbook paper all the time like you showed. Its just easier with the punch.
Yes! I never got that but I’ve also heard it’s sized for the old vertical planner layout that had the thick lines. Because of that I never got it but I hope they make a newer version that will work better in the new vertical layout!
I love the idea of using scrapbook paper for washi! So often I wish I had the right color, pattern or width and I never thought to use scrapbook paper! Great tips!
Absolutely LOVE the frosted cover idea!! I have so many scrap books and not enough opportunities to use them. I also wish I could change out covers to fit seasons or my mood. I think with that, I can do it. Thanks for sharing all these ideas! Now to purchase that frosted cover!! 😉
I have sooo many scrapbooking papers because I thought they were pretty/cute, but I do not scrapbook🤦🏽♀️ I never know what to do with them! Curious to see what you do with them😄
You can for sure use all that pretty paper in your planner. It's a lot of fun adding that into a spread.
Waw.. so many fun ideas to try... Will definitely save this & come back for inspiration ..
Thank you for these creative tips! I just bought a bunch of paper at Joann’s today. I almost bought the pink and green tropical looking one you used to make a cover. Now I have to go back and get it. Lol

Great video! I am really enjoying your series. 👍🏾👍🏾
If I could make a suggestion for a video, I'd love to see you do a tutorial on how you make your clear stickers using your Cricket- from how u find your images and download, to printing.

What a cute video! I really like the DIY washi idea. thank you for demonstrating a project I want to do but was a little unsure of (re-using dividers with a different scrap paper on top of it. Especially when I like the tab but I’ve already used and written on the month on the back of it.) I also want to try it on some Parklane brand dividers because I love the tabs but do not care for the patterns they put on the actual paper.
- I have also used it to change out the look of clear frosted covers.
- I covered plain poly dividers completely with graphic black and white scrapbook paper. I can tell from the pictures what the topic is, because I found graphic paper to represent The hobbies or interests I wanted to have a notebook for. Home decor used the same black-and-white house paper that you showed, a floral for gardening, a bunch of little cameras for photography etc. - looks nice in a black binder cover.
- i’m also thinking of using it to recover an index card storage box that I have.
WOW these are some great ideas that I definitely want to try.!!!😁💕
Oh nice! Hope you have fun adding this to your planner!
So many ideas! Excellent video! Thanks for sharing! 💚
Great ideas! I especially love the idea of making your own colorful boxes!

I actually got them years ago and they no longer sell them anymore...sorry about that!
These tips are super! Thank you so much - I love this series! Yes, someone else mentioned in the Comments too any suggestions for Currently Pages would be great if you have time.. Thank you 😊
Excellent video! Do you also use magazine pictures to create your scenes?
I love these videos! So helpful! You have awesome ideas!
I really like adding paper to cover a tabbed divider! I really don’t like how happy planner does a 1-sided decorative divider with the other side part of the calendar…
I have packets of gift wrap paper I'm not using, so maybe I can use it the same way. Nice ideas.
Hi Im watching this video 8 months late. But I would just like to add that I love your ideas, I use old magazines and cut up pictures for "stickers" and also I use the border left by stickers as frames on white sticker paper. 😉
NYCE!!!!! Thank you!
Thanks Danielle!
@@Happy2planwithDesiree you're welcome!
Awesome ideas !!!
Tfs sharing these tips!
So so cute
Wonderful tips Desiree, I learnt so much, thank you! How do you store those big sheets of paper please? 👏🇦🇺
I love watching you and these last 4 days I’ve been taking notes. I’ve seen black out spreads, but I’ve covered a week in patterned scrapbook paper and decorated on top of that, and I liked it better than the black outs.
What vellum do you have in the front? I’m struggling to find a vellum that has thickness to it. Thank you
Could you show us how to do this on a dashboard layout… or a monthly? Im struggling a little bit with it.
Thanks! Thought maybe you could order the Happy Planner box!
Thanks again Mirna for the super thanks! I'm really enjoying that stitch box!
Where is the frosted cover from please?
Darn it! 😠 I just gave away two packs of scrapbook paper because I didn't know how to use them in my planner. Sigh....oh well, I know they'll be used and loved.
THat's so nice of you to give them away! I actually plan on doing the same..I have so many that I know I am never going to use so I plan on giving them to my mom who is a teacher.
Terrific video! Great ideas that I hope to incorporate into my planning. 💙💛🪴
