I was always wondering what happened to Mina Liao. This origin story really makes you respect and sympathize with McCree. He couldn't save his close friend in Dr. Liao, yet in a way, he brought her back to life through Echo.

Okay but ngl the cinematography of this whole video was exceptional. The concept of the glasses being memories or “the past”, along with the final shot of Dr. Liao being in glass to to represent her being Echo’s past was great. As usual, amazing work from Blizzard.
Etienne Pinçon I’d argue that both have a similar strength. Notice how Sigma’s Trailer has him constantly in the center of every shot, as we look directly in front of him. In this case, we rotate around Liao’s still image, before we see Echo beyond her Image. Both Trailers have us Focused solely on the person in the center as we see them morph into something else. Absolutely stellar.

Sounds about right. There might be a bit of her personality or quirks in her, but that's not the same as a direct brain upload. And I'm just guessing on that last part because of the chance a bit of her went into her when she was being programmed. I imagine an AI would take after their creator a bit.

Okay but ngl the cinematography of this whole video was exceptional. The concept of the glasses being memories or “the past”, along with the final shot of Dr. Liao being in glass to to represent her being Echo’s past was great. As usual, amazing work from Blizzard.

In this case, we rotate around Liao’s still image, before we see Echo beyond her Image. Both Trailers have us Focused solely on the person in the center as we see them morph into something else.
Absolutely stellar.
I think the "in glass" thing might have been to represent how Echo, hence her name, is a reflection of Dr. Liao.
