Just received my Wired freedom. Took it for a ride. OMG ! I swore i saw close to 2400w peak. Did a 10 mile loop around my home , trail and hills. It was a blur and destroyed all hills at 245lbs. Thanks to your initial review i am now a wired ebike owner. Keep up the great content!

Getting mine in October. Some of the supposed changes are…battery will be a Samsung battery instead of LG. Both are great batteries. Rear rack will be beefed up and mounted differently I believe. Still comes delivered with two shock options. Didn’t hear about any other changes. Can’t wait to get it.

@socalcook yes. The rear rack and fender is an issue. Mine rubbed severely so i had to remove the fender completely. I made a fender for it already but it seems like the rack will have to be shimmed to gain about at leastnan1/4 more in order to fit the fender and not have it rub

Several months ago I received the WIRED FREEDOM. Added the mirrors and suspension seat post with a great suspension seat. I'm 6'2" 190LB now over 700 miles later I have riden ebikes that cost more twice this and was not that impressed with comfort or performance. This I BELIEVE IS THE BEST VALUE YOU CAN FIND.
    THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO

We just received our Freedom bikes two weeks ago. My wife, the proverbial tomboy, didn't want a step through bike as she always associated this style as a girls bike. Now, she wishes she'd have gotten the step through bike as it affords easier mounting and dismounting......especially in an emergency-------say, if you let your front tire slip off the downhill side of a trail;-) I'm nearly 60 and my wife is several years older, both with good flexibility. I'm still an 18 year old kid between the ears....but I have a much healthier respect for falling or getting hurt. Suffice it to say that my bike will see far more difficult trails than hers will, but they will both see plenty of smooth roadways. Just wanted to thank you for your initial reviews of the Wicked, now Wired bikes.....as you pushed us over the edge to take the plunge. We look forward to 1000s of miles ahead of us.

I got the cruiser a couple weeks ago. I love it! So fun to ride. I hit 35 mph on flat ground , throttle only. I upgraded the seat to a giddy up seat and makes it much more comfortable. I’m glad I got the cruiser. The bike is a beast and step thru makes it easy to get in and out

I went with the cruiser and for my 5'9 height and age ability Im glad i did, this is a huge bike in person, photos and videos really don't show its size. if you have any leg issues or height and weight or age, get the cruiser. Most people giving reviews are in great shape and can swing there leg over if you are not them in height and ability get the cruiser

Good to know that you have both bikes and compared them side by side along with Bryan,(citizen)
Another person comparing both is just more info I like to read!
I ordered the Cruiser and is expected to arrive 10/23🤞.
At first I was a little concerned about the ride quality of the cruiser,(since it doesn’t have rear suspension) compared to the freedom but the step through is much easier to mount, in which I want since I’m getting older.
Bryan, (Citizen) recommended a bikaroo spring loaded seat in which he said helped out a ton with the ride of the cruiser! I currently have that seat in my Amazon cart when the bike arrives!
My question to you is, I’ve seen people write about a noodle or jello effect on the cruiser? Meaning the frame wobbles a little as you ride. Not as sturdy as the freedom. Since you have both wondering if you can confirm this?
If so, is it a lot and a big deal or is it slight and tolerable?
      Thanks👍

@@johnb6174 the cruiser feels light in the front. If you add too much weight in the rear you will probably get a wobble but I'm talkin over 20 lb! I have a large 25ah battery on the back. If you join the wired e-bike group and look at my post you will see what I did! Work for me but the bike is sturdy on trails too! Where the freedom goes the cruiser will go to!

Over 70, hip issue or don't want to remove that mountain of survival gear on your rear seat/frame rack?
Try mounting Freedom framed-like bikes this way: Standing next to left of bike facing forward, with your LEFT hand, grab bike's left handlbar grip; tilt bike towards you as you use your RIGHT HAND to grab your RIGHT ankle and GOING FORWARD assist your RIGHT LEG over bike. This works for me as I have a TON of stuff on my rear bike seat carrier (Hemingway Cobra Pro).
Now eyeing Wired Freedom for Reconnaissance!
Great comparison, Citizen (The Good Son)! And thank you for looking out for your Dad. ...Keep peddling with God! ...Chappy

The other challenge besides size is I live at the foothills of some big mountains (Wasatch Mountains-Utah). I need an E-bike that can handle a mountain type topography. I prefer a hard tail to suspension myself. Less to go wrong, less maintenance down the road changing a shock, less weight. Honestly i wish they did this with 26x3 inch wide tires for better handling and pedaling, and without a suspension fork. That way uts lighter and more nimble. Bonus points if the add a place to mount a front rack/basket to the frame

A 60v moped style bike would be very popular, both rear wheel drive and awd. You would need a least a 40ah 60v battery which would be very $$$ as the battery is probably the most expensive part of the bike. It would be interesting if they could hit a $2500-$3000 price point. I have no idea if they have one in the works, but it’s a logical next step.

I just received my Freedom bike last week (I believe it's the 3rd version now) and I must say this thing is a beast for its price! Your videos have been very helpful and this comparison is great. Even though it would have been nice to see it a month ago when I ordered the bike, I still would choose the Freedom for its full suspension (plus I think it is cooler looking than the step thru style). I got mine in the Titan (burnt orange) paint scheme and I must say I originally thought it was going to be a matte because of Wired's web site rendition of it. When I first saw it with a gloss I stepped back and was "Oh No!" But seriously within one second later I realized how sharp it looks. (Just a note: the lettering is decals, but it's under the clear coat so it's very smooth and they won't accidentally peal, but this means you can't easily remove them if you don't want them either.)
A good note for the settings: I like to have the Throttle available all the time and use PAS 1-5 as needed. between your video and the manual, it's a little confusing how to set the controller for this combination, but after playing around a bit I found setting "C4" to 3 made this bike work right for me.
Another note: I'm used to riding beach cruiser style bikes, so I found the distance between the seat and handlebars felt a bit tight. But after getting a set back seat post and a nice springy seat and with the handlebars, just ever so slightly forward, it's fitting my ride style nicely.
And one last note: I noticed Wired has been making small changes ever since they started making this bike I.E.: better controller, better brakes, different head light. The latest I've notice is the rack is on its possible third change for the Freedom, but I like it because it is sportier and lower, also the rear fender now mounts to the rack, so it does not flop around like it used to.

I'm in your "more than 70%" demographic, so this is very good information for me (and you have addressed two of my main questions about the differences between the two versions). Thank you ...that's a like and a sub!
Yes, I currently have a 26 x 4" 1000 w Ebike, but it IS difficult for me to get on/off with a rear rack (and I definitely can't load that rack up with everything I usually carry on my folding 26 x 1.75" 500 w Ebike). Man, I REALLY wanted the 2024 Wired Freedom with the newly designed rear suspension, but you're also right that I want to pack a LOT of stuff on the rear rack. So I appreciate you confirming that the rear suspension DOES make a difference (kinda figured but I'm glad you confirmed it). I also like the look of the Freedom vs the Cruiser.
    However...
I also appreciate that you've helped me to give more consideration for the Cruiser's step-through design because it may still be my better bet for making my very long rides more enjoyable overall (even without the rear suspension). Dang, decisions decisions!
All that said, I have a couple of questions you didn't address in this video...
    1) Are they basically the same weight? (Re; I hope the step-through weighs at least a bit less than the standard version ...because lifting a 76 lb. bike -- without the battery -- into my SUV would NOT be fun for me.)
    2) I know the standard version does not have a quick release on the front wheel (which I would like to have for getting it in/out of my SUV). In this video, it kinda looks like the step-through version does! So, does the Cruiser have a quick release on the front wheel?
    3) Do you happen to know if the 2024 Cruiser has the new/larger chain ring (with more teeth), like the 2024 Freedom does?
Again, thanks for addressing several of the things I wanted to know about the Cruiser vs the Freedom versions and I look forward to hearing your response to my other questions above.

I’m planning to purchase an E-bike so I can go on an epic adventure starting in San Diego and ending up north in Vancouver, WA!
I’m planing to bring 2 extra batteries, a trailer for my lite weight tent, pack with supplies like my jet boil, freeze dried food, sleeping bag and I’ll be staying in a hotel for charging… and likely taking my pug, Pebbles! Weather wise, I’m thinking Oct-Nov before heading over the pass in NorCal heading in to OR.

I've put roughly 100 hard (road and trail) miles on my Freedom and it's held up well. One word of advice for owners is to tune down the power settings when doing trail and leave the crotch rocket speeds for road work. Given the unstable ground and twitchy throttle, it can catch out new owners (as it did me) and cause injuries.

My family already has 3 ebikes, including my son's Wired Cruiser. I love it except for the "wiggly" frame which feels unsafe at high speeds or on trails, so was going to buy the Freedom for myself as an all-purpose bike. The Cruiser needs to add a more substantial brace in the vee to stiffen the frame. When I went to place the order for the Freedom there is a default $75 charge for package protection (By Deselecting Shipping Protection, we will not be liable for damaged, lost or stolen packages!). They ship by UPS (and it costs $200). This irks me so badly I have not yet pulled the trigger on the purchase,

You may have to bite the bullet and pre order if you want the bike. Their November batch will sell out before it arrives and then it will be January or February. Maybe someone else will come out with a comparable 60v full suspension bike for $2000 but you’d have to wait for that too if and when it comes to market. You could always get a 48 or 52v bike, but they are severely lacking in power and performance compared to 60v.

Odd that my rear rack is different from you’re cruiser, it’s beefier and mounts different??? That’s another thing I was pleasantly surprised by, my bike came with the Altus derailleur/double sided chain guard and I saw the previous batches had the Tourney derailleur. My drivetrain has worked perfectly out the box, first bike I’ve had that with.. My only complaint is a step through issue I’ve read, the frame is a little “flexy” you can feel the rear end wobble back and forth when maneuvering. Might look into frame stiffening options. It’s nothing horrible just noticeable vs my other non step through bikes.

Kepler peaks at 1800 watts, Wired peaks at 2300 watts. 60v vs 52v. Wired is 3mph faster and much better on hills. Freedom also has full suspension, which makes a big difference. Wired’s battery is 20% larger. Wired has great customer service, Ariel Rider has 4 pages of complaints at the BBB. The Kepler is $400 less expensive when you consider shipping. It is the second best choice for a high power 26x4 fat tire, but the Wired is better on every point.

Does somebody know what is the IP rating (water resistance) on these bikes? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

I think they are IPX5. Another UA-camr drove one into the ocean accidentally with no ill effect. I have rode in the rain although I put a plastic baggie around the display to be safe. The battery is well protected by design and all the connections on the bottom have waterproof connectors. My display has fogged occasionally so I try and protect it from rain. The rest of the bike seems pretty water resistant.

My husband and I are both 5’6 160 pounds. Do you think we are too short for the Freedom? Hubby doesn’t want the “girls” model. 😮

I would say the bike is gonna feel big for you both So as long as you're okay with that. It depends on how long your legs are, but When sitting on the seat, you won't be able to put your feet flat on the ground.

Im interested in Buying but hard to decide which one for my Height 5'9, How tall are you I see in video when on orange cruiser taking off that your feet mostly pads are on ground not totally flat on ground but I not sure if you had seat post lowered all the way, Im 61 and wondering if im going to have a hard time lugging my legg over and not have my feet be total planted on ground. Can you reveal your height please.and thanks for the great videos. I ordered the Freedom and hoping I made the right choice, I have a Aventon Adventure step through and been practicing swinging my leg over, it seems if I lean bike at least 20 to 30 percent it much easier getting on bike but you must pull break at same time so bike doesn't move.

hello, i am 6ft tall and i would say i have long legs. I buy 32W x 34L jeans. not issue for me to flat-foot either bike. the 2024 wired cruiser is a big bike though, the seat height is about 35inches from ground to top of seat. the rear suspension sags a little when you sit down so i would anticipate that at 5'9'' you are going to be on the balls of your feet at a stop. i have an Aventon Aventure .2 also and the Freedom feels much bigger.

Every ebike should have a hinged rear... old motorcycles were hard tails... it's stupid to have an ebike w/o a shock
