The story of the Will Wilde Am continues... I just want to say thank you for stepping up and handling my dilemma. The new replacement reed plates arrived today in perfect condition. The installation was easy and I'm back in the groove. I've been playing manly Hohner harmonica's both diatonic and chromatic for over 50 years. I loved your specially tuned harmonica from the moment I played it. But now due to the personal attention you gave me. You now have a loyal customer for life . Love & Respect D.D. Garcia.
Just as Justin Johnson got me into playing resonator guitars, your videos popped up in my suggestions one day and now I intend to learn to play harmonica. Got myself a Lee Oskar natural D minor for blues/dark country styled music as a start, so now I just need to figure out the best way to get over these nerves knowing I'll be terrible for a while and just start learning and, hopefully with enough practice, playing. Subbed to the channel, and loving your stuff!
I haven’t had the experience to play one of these harps yet, but wouldn’t it make sense to have the minor six blow below the 6 draw sharpened to a major 6? That would make the flat seven easier to bend to, without having to worry about intonation as much, plus you have that scale degree on a regular blow note for doing chromatic runs when you wish, the drawback would be that you can’t put much vibrato on the major 6, since it would now be just a regular blow note
Can you bend the 8 draw on this to get the upper octave blue note or do you need to overblow? Edit: nevermind you answered this lol. That's definitely a huge plus for me.
I was really looking forward to getting the set of harp's as advertised: 5 Blues 1847 Classic Wilde Minor Tuning A, G, E, D, & C, at the price of $499 purchased thru Reverb / eVillage Music Astoria, NY. I was really disappointed when it took over 10 days to get my order then when I received my harps I was missing the "A" was told it was on backorder from Germany! Now I'm wondering how long I will be waiting? I feel l should have been given the option to cancel my order rather than pay for something they didn't have.
Sorry to hear that but I have no control over purchases made from Reverb, I'm not familiar with this seller (eVillage Music Astoria). If you order from www.wildetuning.com that comes through to me directly and I have everything in stock.
@@garcia208 Thanks Demetrio. The Set is £399 (approx 550 dollars) Postage (Royal Mail tracked & insured) is approx 35 dollars to the USA and usually takes 5-7 business days. www.wildetuning.com/shop
I love these minor chords. Am I right to assume that they are also available in the 1847 version? Because I don't like the session steel too much. Thanks, Will. See ya soon! :)
I've had my Wilde Minor tuned harps for around 3 months. (I purchased the set of 5.) I picked up my Am to play and was shocked to discover that the #4 blow was flat. I need to get this fixed. Does Seydel offer replacement reed plates for the Am Wilde Minor tuned harmonica?

Is it better to learn on Richter tuning before you move to Wilde. I have a, probably irrational fear, of non standard, at least until I'm more experienced / proficient.
I don't think it makes a big difference, it's all the same technique, just the notes are laid out differently. I have a couple of students who started out on Wilde tuning and they are doinf well.
@@willharmonicawilde I guess the fact that the layout is different is why I'm asking. Feels something like learning and qualifying to drive on automatic or manual. The latter doesn't prohibit you driving the former but the other way around would. Only never an issue if you only ever intend to drive automatic. All probably just a feeling.
@@Human_Herbivore I play along and learned very quickly. If you try to think about theory it’ll twist your brain like a pretzel. I’ve busk to his diatonic jam in C, his rock blues video and freebird. Believe me it catches everyone’s attention. Just get the harp you’ll dig it. It took me about one or two takes of the rock blues jam to understand it and totally rip. Just don’t think about it. Just play and it will click. You’ll be amazed at your own sound. It’s like wow I’m playing this good ? It’s sounds that sweet.

Yep, all the draw notes bend so hole 8 is just rhe same as hole 4, an octave higher.
Nice thats perfect for the blues scale. I usually switch to 3rd position when I need to hit the blue note an octave up.

Hi Patrik, Wilde Minor is only available in the 1847 Classic model :)
@@willharmonicawilde LOL cool! :) Thanks!
Is the C like an F or a Low F? If not, I think making a Low C version would be pretty popular.
Yes, the C is like a Low F
