Looks fun! My 3 yo son uses a little point and shoot and there's something utterly precious about everything he photographs. These kinds of cameras take us back to the idea of moments and memories > the feed
I'm sorry, dude, but you bait and switched this video. That title card is really misleading and really made it look like you were reviewing some "retro" canon 35mm point and shoot film camera and not this powershot. I don't think that's particularly cool. Just say and show what it is in the title and title card instead of clickbaiting.
I have a canon power shot 520 I got at a flea market for $8 and it’s a blast! Sometimes it’s about the fun not the specs! What is the canon in the thumbnail? That looks like a beautiful camera!
@@MattyDCCollins thanks for the reply! I was thinking that was the case since there weren’t any logos or branding on the front which is inline canon😂 thank you for confirming!
I've been drawn to this recently myself. Even though I probably take far more pictures now (using my phone) than I ever did in the pre-phone days, it's much less intentional. I rarely even go through and look at the photos I took. They just sit in my phone storage aside from one or two I decide to share. Photography has become almost disposable. I think there's value in having a device that only takes pictures and was built for that specific purpose. And of course we have our "nice cameras" for that but there's also value to having something you can just grab and stuff in your pocket when you're heading out to capture those casual moments without making a big production out of it. It's cool that this model has a viewfinder and manual settings! Many compacts back in the day didn't have those.
Thanks so much for sharing your input you make some awesome points here about being intentional and I think that’s so important! I also think photography in some ways has become disposable and nothing is ever done with the content. Thanks again for supporting the channel with your wisdom 👊
Though I usually like your videos, this one doesn't go well. Maybe because I own this cam too - bought back then not now for 10$. You did your best to make it look bad. Video is ridiculous bad for sure, but video was bad with everything back then. It has real zoom lenses of quite good quality. I just recently looked at old pics, a lot shot with this cam and I was surprised how good they looked compared to ones of newer cams. What separates then from e.g. high-end smartphone pics of today is the lack of fake looking HDR processing all non DSLR like cams of today suffer from. It creates honest pics, and if you know what you're doing in normal daylight conditions they can look surprisingly good

Well put Scott and thanks for the comment :) Very cool look to these cameras that takes me back too - to simpler times lol

That's my bad Ryan, I've changed the title and thumbnail and hopefully that helps some viewers.

I totally agree! Fun > Specs a lot of the time, the one in the thumbnail is just an AI generated image of the Powershot A530 :)

Where can I find your preset?
In my description but it’s $1 now haha
I got a mint condition 2008 Sony DSC-W150 a few years ago from a neighbor who was literally throwing it away.
Haha one man’s trash is another man’s treasure eh?
Retro?!
I thought 20 years old meant retro haha my bad.
