@@smithsmithy8805 has no buttons less user friendly then the ones with buttons more distracting when driving when u have to go into settings look for heated seats and press a few options before getting there when all u had to do in the previous version is press one button same for AC 😂🤮
I don't like the missing gear lever, and I really don't like not having hard buttons to control the air-conditioning. Exterior styling is quite nice, especially being able to eliminate a sun roof and get carbon.
That's exactly what i don't like, i can live with the screen, but i want physical buttons for climate and a lever.
You don’t need a gear knob unless it’s a manual car.
@@hkhvr13 A BMW gear lever can be used like a paddle shifter when in the left position. There were no complaints about the gear knob on the BMW forums I read every day, and I love it in my 2020 540i. They should have left it alone. I'm sure I won't be the only one to complain about the lever redesign.
I would be very annoyed if my G20 gear knob was removed and the temp controls digitised as ler the facelift. It's nice to have something solid there not just a nub.

Fantastic upgrades on the inside are welcome and so are the new frontlights plus the carbon roof.
Front lights are actually a downgrade from the previously available laser lights
BMW wants drivers to use their fingers now instead of grasping that shift lever for ultimate driving satisfaction. strange times we live in.
I don’t like touchscreens either. Even though I have one in my current 330 I I still use the knobs and the hand gestures
I don’t really like the one long screen for infotainment/gauge cluster. I think it takes away from the interior design and you lose the angles the old center screen had

I've got the G21M340i, and obv the big change is iDrive 8. The prob I have is that I already find iDrive 7 to be quite distracting, so I'm not sure I'd be wanting even more controls in the iDrive, and more screens to distract. It's getting to the stage where there seems to be little difference to using your mobile when driving. Of course there is voice control. Is that any better in iDrive 8 than it is in iDrive 7?
Try it in person. iDrive 8 is already implemented on current gen i4 and iX models. It's very sleek and efficient. imo voice controls are gimmicky and inefficient regardless unless used to turn on/off functions like AC, music, and ambient lighting.
the more new ones that come out makes me love my 2018 even more, why go away from halo headlights they look so perfect

Thumbs up for the exterior cleaned up some of the lines, interior gone the wrong direction floating dash and heater buttons integration....

Will the added electric motor in the face lift of the M340i effect general tuning of the B58 engine? Or will the tuning potential not be effected at all?
First and foremost it has added a shittons of additional weight to begin with, so it did affect the tuning potential a lot. Presumably you will be able to squeeze a tiny bit more hp out of this, but it will never handle or brake as good as it was in pre lci. G20 was already much overweight..

Screens that are on the panel look cheap, it would be way better to install inside the dashboard! But i know why they did it, made the production cheaper!

From someone who had the M340xi. Not a fan, loved my gear knob, and the ease to switch from sport by kicking it to the left and moving it to the right for normal. Looks more like an electric car to me than a block....I understand that's where we headed; Nothing here says "WOW" switch from the old M340xi to the new. I will respectfully pass. Now the M3 that's a whole different topic, looks raw, block oriented, love it.

The 2022 is the same model that came out in 2019.
BMW record of the last couple of years with their electronics failing will come back to haunt them when they move full EV :)

Arent you going to say anything about that lazy cheap design of those displays? Hopefully Ill be able to snatch one before LCI or Im going to be forced to buy a 2 series...quite sad since I kinda wanted those rear seats and the 5 series is just too big :/
@@MisoElEven yeah I was thinking that too. It looks too damn busy and a bit silly. This isn't 2077 yet. I was thinking same thing about getting one pre lci before it's too late. Otherwise you have to search high and low for the specs you want on a certified pre-owned.

I have a M340i late 2021 model and I am not a fan of the face-lift. The front grill reminds me of that massive plankton eating fish, the interior display is too big and the gear stick...what gear stick, that looks like a light switch.
The pre face lift has captured a perfect blend of functional aesthetics and raw power. Mine also had the option of a carbon roof so its not purely a lci option.
REMINDER: This new 3 series will still be missing several options due to the semiconductor chip shortage as confirmed by my local dealership .So if you order this car it be delivered with some options deleted from the car and BMW will give you a credit for those options .That is why I am keeping my fully loaded 2021 330i .Until this chip shortage ends and it may be three of four more years before it is resolved .Considering two of the main chip manufacturers are in Ukraine ,with the shortage of neon gas which also comes from Ukraine ,which is used to run these high tech laser machines that makes the chips .So it's going to be a long ride .And if you're fine with taking a new stripped down 330i. go for it .Because I am not .
The new 2025 3 series will be all electric, that will be quite the transition

I think it is a little misleading to have these demo models with the FULL MERINO leather interior, which is beautiful but absolutely not the norm for these models. They have to be ordered on an individualized basis and require BMW approval which can delay the ordering, production, and delivery process substantially.

🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, I think it's looking better! BMW I'm your fan, what can I say, it just actually looks better. The front is a little bit off to me, I don't know what to say, but overall the car has improved especially when you you're talking about a carbon fiber roof, idrive 8 etc, Although I love sunroofs unfortunately, but I know that the carbon fiber roof gives the car more. rigidity, it lowers the center of gravity and what not.

But it has a nice inline 6 under the hood
I feel like they spoiled the whole vibe by:
- sticking that big screen in the dashboard without any kind of visual integration effort.
- deleting the gear shifter.
Would have liked to see a bit more refined interior as well. But a great facelift nonetheless. Hope the 6 cyl sounds at least as good as before though!
