      Jeff Galaska I’ve been on it for 2 years. No issues here... 3mg a day I take as directed. Feel great. I have nerve damage though, so I’m It ordinary. It helps with main due to the muscle relaxer properties. I have no plan to stop. It helps.. and I don’t abuse. You can use meds in your advtange if you understand them and know how to use them. No one can even tell I take them.

      @@maddawgzzzz I made a stupid mistake and quit taking .5 after few months of use. Withdrawals hit within 4 days. I started taking it again. It has soothed the withdrawals some but they're still there. I was just curious how long he had to take his prescription (after being without) before he felt normal again.

      I wish I had known how adverse the risks are. I’m toughing out my withdrawals since I know exactly what is taking place. I’m being very patient with myself, and have converted to a healthier lifestyle as well. Once the withdrawals simmer down I will implement some exercise. I believe I am at my peak, it’s going on 3.5 weeks since stopping cold turkey of every day 0.5mg usage over a 6-7 month time span.

    I was prescribed Klonopin daily after having panic attacks from an incident with ecstacy. I was on it for 11 years with no dosage increase. Just 1 day from the start. If I didnt schedule an appointment in time and missed a refill, and had to wait a few days, it was hell. My stomach shivered as if I was freezing and I felt sick. It took me 6 months of tapering off that stuff and it messed with my head for months after that. I will never take that shit ever again.

      Have you seen the Ashton Manual? It's a guide to tapering off of every kind of benzo. I was on Klonopin for twenty three years when I started my taper.
      It took me two years to taper and that was still hard. The withdrawals from benzos are fucking brutal but it's worth it when you come out the other end.
      You can find the manual online and download it for free! Just ask if you have any questions. It's a long hard road but it's totally worth getting your life back. These drugs are crazy dangerous and should never be used long term unless you have a seizure disorder and nothing else works. They ruin people's lives and the doctors who prescribe them usually pawn their patients off on addiction specialists when they start noticing that they're having problems. These prescribers blame their patients even though they did nothing wrong. It's simple biology that we become tolerant and have withdrawals when stopping this class of drug. But the prescribers usually are nowhere to be found when things go sideways. But they always do no matter what. Sometimes it just takes ten years for that to happen. Good luck!

      I'm sorry but being taken off this drug when it is one of the only things that works and you've been a compliant patient on a very low dose is just criminal. They're doing it to me after 8 months on 1mg a day with nothing to substitute i've tried dozens of medications including SSRI's, SNRI's, Wellbutrin, Abilify etc. Monotherapy and polydrug therapy. I've seen counselors, therapists, and psychologists. They act like benzodiazepines are so dangerous they are aren't worth the benefits, but that's horse shit, they'd put you on antipsychotics that have huge crazy lists of side effects (some of which are permanant ) for the rest of your life if you'd let them but OH NO... YOU CAN'T TAKE THIS STUFF. THIS STUFF IS BAD FOR YOU. FUCK DOCTORS THEY ARE COWARDS.

    Same exact story for me, I was taking it for eight or nine months only like two or three pills every week 0.5 mg. Once I stop taking it for 5 days I experienced heavy withdrawals. That foggy feeling that you described will turn into total depersonalization and extreme dizziness the more you take and the longer you're on it. I noticed you said you're still taking it. Just know when you try to get off of it completely you are going to have extreme withdrawals!! I wouldn't wish that upon anybody if you find yourself having withdrawals whenever that day comes when you try to get off of it remember to go with a 1% taper! They have UA-cam videos about it if you need to know what the 1% taper is. Best of luck to you and God bless.

    I can relate- I’m tapering but my doctors office didn’t call mine in on time and I had to go cold turkey for almost a week and when I finall got it my body was so out of wack I had to take a step backwards in my tapering process. You become a slave to that pill bottle cause your body doesn’t work normal w/o after a while and you’re a slave to your prescribing doctor. Can’t wait to be fully off this. You only realize how horrible it is when suddenly you are forced to stop it. Which, I believe doctors don’t take their responsibility to make sure their patients don’t die going w/o it on their watch.

I cold-turkeyed after as needed, short term usage and I was one of the oh so lucky people that ended up with a protracted withdrawal. Im just over 2 years and while Ive made improvements, I cant believe that Ive wasted away 2 years of my life from a drug that was intended to help. :/

If you need help coming off them be free to respond back because I been through it over 2 years now and still struggling some but a lot better then I was . I feel I know a lot on this subject. Withdrawal symptoms for me were harsh dreams like someone throwing acid on my body in dreams and feeling my skin was burning, dizziness lot of dizziness too much, then some abnormal behaviours , sleep problem, feeling too low ,depressed, halo actions , . They lasted like 2-3 months . However first withdrawl after 3 months was horrible like living death . However taking them was important too in my case. Just advice for someone having mental health issues anxiety depression that do take antidepressants if things are going out of ur control and all therpies , physical therpies don't work at all. But at same time have aim of leaving them in 1-2 years. Leave them in proper doses . Reducing doses as per doctor , . If u leave all of sudden by urself then u are fucked don't do that

    A little help here. I was prescribed 1mg klonopin around mid-June. I didn't like the 1mg cuz it made me way too sleepy. I started taking random doses 0.25-0.50 2-3 times a week. Only for sleep, no morning dosage. I just found out about the withdrawal symptoms, and I cold turkey (I know, I know) stopped it around Aug 1st(last dosage). I also noticed I was having insomnia when I didn't take it for days prior to Aug 1st. I noticed I do have all these withdrawal symptoms the internet mentions. So will I recover within this month? Because I'm on my 5th day writing this and man the anxiety can get intense at times. I took one month off of work and I already called in sick lots before. I need my job so does anyone have an input on my situation? Am I still considered Short-term or no? Should I just tough it out? I pretty much heading towards week 2.

I lost sleep, sweating increased and my speech was not clear. It’s now 2 months. My sleep is back to normal and I feel almost normal. It feels like klonopin was my friend and I lost a friend. It consulted with drs and was told it may take many month to feel back to normal. But I would not recommend doing anything alone. You need support while getting off.

      You're certainly addicted to it at this point. 1mg of this stuff is still quite powerful on the brain. I'd cut your doses in half for 2 weeks then cut that in half for another 2 weeks. At that point try to avoid it unless symptoms get real bad and take .25 as little as possible. Its going to be tough but the longer you take 1 mg a day or more you are digging a steep ditch for yourself to climb trust me!

Unfortunately I was to taper off over four weeks and time got away from me and I have about 6 days to do it in. I seems that, for me, if you say the word “Klonopin” all doctors run and you’re left with not much help. But, of course, insurance is involved, legal issues for the doctors prescribing and the stigma of mental health issues. That’s fine, no it really isn’t, but I’ll do it. Take care.

I came off it cold turkey for 5 days before they shipped me to a medical detox b/c they thought I was going to have a stroke or a heart attack. This is NOT!! a mantinece drug, It is very dangerous physically, mentally and emotionally. The ones who prescribe benzodiazepines for the treatment of anxiety are the one's that should be locked up. I had sweats, shakes, tremors, bizarre hallucinations, a lost touch with reality, severe short and long term memory loss, loss of muscle control, muscle spasms, blurred vision, lock jaw, severe permanent cardiac and kidney damage, chronic fatigue, loss of bowel/bladder control, brain damage. Please do not take this deadly drug. I hope nobody ever has to go through that kind of horrifying experience. If you do I will pray that you will never have to go through it again!! And I'm sorry for anyone that has to go through this mind and body shattering episodes!!!! Stay away from this drug, It will kill you!!!!!!!

    I was taking Clonazepam at 2 to 4 mg/24hour per 2 months with few exceptions where the daily dose was between 8mg and 12mg due to my fast tolerance buildup.I was also taking 150mg of Trazadone.Then I decided to quit lowering the 4mg dose in 4 days minus 1 milligram daily.I was experiencing multiple symptoms both psychical and physical for an extended period of time maybe over 2 weeks after my dose hit the zero mark but nothing too serious like seizures .In the past three years I used clonazepam 5 times including now in doses ranging from 1mg to 0.5mg.After going through multiple withdraws I can assure you that your body can get used to the withdraws making them less noticeable like a hangover which lasts for week or so.

      @@salonsanmiguel133lauramarg8 yes they end. You get 100% normal in 6-7 months, the first 3 months are hard, after that its cake. I choose to just stay on it as I need it/. I have nerve damage and it actually has pain killing properties for me, as it also acts as a muscle relaxant.

      @Serene Universe I cold turkeyed it. Got awful withdrawals. I went to a psychiatrist and he gave me pregabalin to control them but I'm finding it difficult to taper pregabalin.
      I took clonazepam for only 1 month 1 per day 0.5mg. it's been a month since I cold turkeyed it.
      I took pregabalin for 2 weeks 75mg 1 per day and when I went to 50mg, my withdrawals returned though not so severe.

    • @GauravSharma-dy8xv
      @GauravSharma-dy8xv 3 роки тому +1

      @Serene Universe yes it went away. Basically my whole body became numb to pain. In 2 weeks of pregabalin, my majority symptoms were gone. My benzo belly recovered, my sleep wasn't satisfactory but I was sleeping, my hand and foot pin pain went away, I can urinate, I started having Normal erections, my constipation was gone. Just had a head ache 24/7 while taking it. But My withdrawals are slowly and gradually coming as I reduced dose of pregabalin to 50mg. I'm going to talk to psychiatrist today.

    • @GauravSharma-dy8xv
      @GauravSharma-dy8xv 3 роки тому +2

      @Serene Universe tapering should be done when you aren't experiencing withdrawals. If you have stopped clonazepam since days, don't go on them again

    • @GauravSharma-dy8xv
      @GauravSharma-dy8xv 3 роки тому +2

      @Serene Universe look every man's body is different. I can suggest you things but I myself am in a lot of pain and I don't know much about your condition. I'm myself taking pregabalin 50mg until my body gets accustomed to the lower dose and my brain heals itself.
      Remember, pregabalin isn't the cure. Your brain will learn itself to handle the pain.
      In my suggestion, take only quarter of the clonazepam and bear the pain. No need of other medications. But please don't trust me. Go with what your doctor says

    Take your meds as prescribed and if you need it you need it. Why are doctors prescribing then taking patients away ? If you follow the instructions , you wouldn’t have problems.

      Your not screwed although I know it feels like it. Its also no ones fault although it feels like it. If you want to come off it you need to understand and believe it's more than possible. I have a story that included a lifetime of dependency and found out I had to deal with this at the end of it. See what you gotta do is never give up and as I said 'believe '.

    I’ve been tapering of for maybe half a year now. Was on a larger dose of Xanax for many years prior to deciding it was time to get off this stuff. I was down to 0.250 mg twice a day and just decided to quit it for good. Day two and so far I’m lucky just small headaches and that overall “off” feeling or weird feeling that normally is associated with anxiety. But overall not too bad. Hoping it stays this way.
