There has to be a way to wean off these prescribed medications without suffering for years. I'm on year 4. I lost my job and most of my friends, because idiot doctors cut me off cold turkey. Was the worst time of my life and still is. I went for help and they made me worst. Now I have to go to the pharmacy to get a weekly blister pack with 28 pills a day, like some drug addict. The benzos were prescribed to me and I might lose my life because of them. I'm basically stuck in bed 24/7. It's a living hell.

This would help people dealing with withdrawal especially insomnia -
I was prescribed 0.5mg xanax after a surgery and I took it longer than prescribed. Unknowingly I stopped taking it thinking I no longer need it. And the days to follow were a pure hell. I was anxious and I couldn't get any sleep. I barely slept for a week which made my anxiety worse. Thankfully, I am into ayurveda so I researched and took wintercherry(ashwagandha), Indian pennywort(brahmi) and valerian root(tagara) extract. And I finally got 8 hours of good sleep that night and woke up with no anxiety. I hope this helps anyone dealing with withdrawals.

79 here, on ativan. six years, tapered off in a year, all things getting back to normal. Pray if you want to, it's reassuring for some, but. really silly. Water taper as slowly as you need to and it will be just fine....a bit bumpy, but just fine and the result is that you'll probably feel ten years younger...perhaps eleven...and don't fall for the ads that come up in search for bernzo taper....it can't be done in three insurance-paid weeks....best solution was to get a doctor to prescribe a higher dose than was needed, take less, and save up as much as you can before stopping the taper so you don't have to rely on any doctor. And you can taper on your own.

How come we took it for years and it wasn't a problem, but now all of a sudden it is. 38 years paxil and xanax. Never had not one problem. Something doesn't smell right with all this. A medical assistant hinted to me that phychiatrist and counselors weren't making as much money as before and that new grads couldn't find enough patients to set up their own practice. He said supply and demand was way way off.

@@sweetvictory3100No Friend, it has not. That is your flesh. The decisions you make you will not be able to lay off ..even on another human, or being... on a substance. Faith is rhe Gift of GOD and It is by GOD'S Sovereign Grace. i am a minister of the Gospel of Grace In JESUS CHRIST, and have struggled with benzo's -as am a paralyzed vet, and have been for the last 20 years (most of which ive been on benzos and opiates; significantly worse combined). However, the physical and mental struggles We go through cannot Override the Power of GOD. And, "i am unashamed of the Gospel, becasue It is the Power of GOD unto Salvation, for all who Believe". Now, that's not a head knowledge type of "believe" (as even the who says they are an 'Atheist' - is actually "a Theist" in rebellion toward their CREATOR - do that; suppressing the Truth in unrighteousness" Rom.1); Its an Active Trusting in CHRIST. We must believe CHRIST Is The Eternal GOD, HIMSELF, in the Flesh, and that HE Lived a Perfect Life and Died in the place [Not "good people, but bad/sinners"] of all sinners who turn from their sin and Trust in HIM!
i am happy to help walk thru and work through this. We have to acknowledge all lack of faith as Our sin (We must own it), and then Turn away from it and to HIM, Trusting in HIM Alone; "HE Is MIghty to Save all who draw near to HIM by Faith". Pregablin becomes useless after a couple of months, so use the lowest dose possible at the end of your taper, then taper of pregablin (which is much easier) (Pregablin really helps with insomnia for people with GAD) Also excercise and diet an obvious must. Hi Elliot!
I have only been on K a month, first time tried to cut in half and had horrible night disturbances (not just insomnia, im talking waking to psychosis thoughts and not knowing what reality im in, closed eyes hallucinations and hypnic jerks, etc). Reinstated to 2mg, also with paroxetine (that's why i took it in the first place.. to help with new ssri side effects). I'm taking around 3mg agmatine a day now, thanks to your video, for about a week and a half, and it helps me a lot with the burning/pins and needles skin/limbs - I barely get it. But it didn't help a lot with depression/anxiety during the day. I also take l-theanine that helps with sleep with magnesium gly. and taurine. The thing is in a lot of groups people say anything that touches the gaba receptors (like the magnolia you mention and other things) should be avoided. And supplements can set you back. What is your experience with these? why do you recommend them? I'm thinking of maybe increasing the agmatine. Anyway I stopped taking it and am feeling better now. Magnesium is on that list and it's a good one esp for people on opioids b/c it causes you to shit.

I relapsed on beer after two months but had no option to go back on the drugs prescribed by my doctors! Two years later I struggle with major shakes! It very well could be my drinking beer but even when I drink a lot I still have shakes! My fingers are much better when I drink a lot of beer. Does this sound like only drinking or still Xanax withdrawals along with it? Thanks for your video!

I wonder if drinking "Kava" tea (using the traditional preparation method), would be helpful for some people who are trying to wean themselves off of the 'Benzo' pills? As a temporary measure only. Some people use Kava as a way to get off alcohol, with the rationale that it's "less toxic" than alcohol to the body.
MY QUESTION: to Elliot -- and it's a difficult one!
I wonder if any expert on Oxalates, including yourself, knows the answer to this hard question: When a person drinks Kava tea (previously known in the 1990s, widely, as "Kava Kava"), for pain relief and muscle relaxant effect, and temporary anti-anxiety effect ('body high' and 'head high', respectively), are they unknowingly ingesting large quantities of oxalates by drinking the stuff?
Kava is plant based (a South Pacific shrub, called "intoxicating pepper"). The traditional beverage (in some tropical parts of the world, mainly in Asia and Hawaii) is known as a potent psycho-active tea, which has been consumed for centuries. However, it is definitely a "niche" thing to do, highly unusual -- from most people's perspectives. It's not widely consumed in U.S.A., but there are some "hard-core" aficionados (die hard fans) here, who love it. Some tout it as a healthy alternative to alcohol, and it has many similar effects. It temporarily ramps up certain "happy feeling" brain neurotransmitters (such as dopamine and GABA), and elicits mood alteration. Drinking the traditional prep tea is like drinking muddy water in consistency, and the taste is pretty terrible. Most chase it with pineapple or apple, etc.
Bottom line, for my writing all this is this: does drinking Kava Kava mean that one is also ingesting a large quantity of Oxalates? - this is a pretty specialized question, and I would understand if very few (if anyone!) would know the answer easily. Kava, as it is better known nowadays, is not widely consumed. But for hard-core fans, this information may be valuable to know. If it *is* a hazard, then maybe they should switch to something else for relaxation, tranquility, and pain relief (muscle relaxation, etc.). Something that is less potentially harmful to the body. Thanks, even if you don't know the answer to this particular question, for hosting a great UA-cam channel.

      @@dmarino831 hi 👋
I slept last night longer than I have in the last almost two weeks since discontinuing. That’s two nights in a row of sleeping - which is an improvement. (The night before that I really could’ve slept - but had a job to do at work that directly interfered). I’ve only been sleeping every other night this whole time pretty much - then just four hours. But this is an improvement. It might’ve been a very slightly deeper sleep than thus far. My sleep has been also very shallow.
I need a better name for that neurological “twitch.” It seems like that twitching starts to happen when I’m on the edge of sleeping. Had a full body one last night. Started noticing the twitching back when I first began to taper.
I’ve got other things going on - that may or may not be getting better. I was actually thinking that this seems like the beginning of dementia. ? Then I’ve been seeing that there seems to be a relationship between benzodiazepines and dementia. The reason I stopped was because I was repeatedly missing a keyword when I was doing a large text - in a large group text. Then found it happening in general. It seems like I’ve got a “blank spot” going on. My recall has already been sucking. Now combined with the lack of sleep idk but I suspect the worst. Plus I’ve got a stare in my eyes 👀 that I don’t like. I’ve got some situational stressors going on that I need to get through (change of both home and work). Then I’ll know a little more in time. Giving myself a generous complete two months before I’m sure the clonazepam half life is over and done with and out of my system. Hoping to have things as well as possible by then.
I’m calling it a chemically induced brain 🧠 injury at this point - hoping it’s not permanent brain damage (of course).
Would have really appreciated a decent heads up - did not get one - and then the weak, low budget mental health office I’d been going to finally dropped the ball right in the middle of tapering down - which was a pretty fast taper.
I probably (most definitely) should have not worked the first week I went off and probably not worked the second week. This has been rough.
If I can sleep, then that’s an improvement.
      How you doing? 🙃

I am sure it takes more time to kick in with withdrawls but I remember 3 4 years ago I couldn't spend half a day without it. It realy helped me a lot. Now I am taking same 0.5 but cut into 4 parts (taking 2x 0.25 broken in 4) and wil be cutting midday one, already got used on it after a week or so. I started working out. Having amazing dog. Lot of nature around and camping and all. Mediterainian diet, as I'm from Croatia.
