I felt the same way about the Last Magician. I had trouble reading the physical book and switched to the audiobook. I was amazing! . I gave it 5 stars.
My reading slump started about two weeks ago and im really tired and want to read again but i just cant it's really hard to read right now and i really want to get out of this slump
“It’s snowing outside because CANADA” haha I feel you. I live in Maine and we will usually have snow in April. But when summer finally comes it’s the best! Good luck with your reading this month!!!
Last month I read Enchantee in audiobook form and flipping loved it! I became so invested through the narrator and spoke about it in my wrap up! I hope you enjoy it too! I agree that a set TBR is setting myself up for failure too! 😂😂😂
My TBR for this month is, 'PS I Still Love You' and 'Always and Forever Laura Jean' by Jenny Han, as well as 'Once and For All' by Sarah Dessen. I had 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell on there but I finished that the last couple of days of February after reading 'Empire of Storms' and that destroyed my soul, I cried so much. I have a couple more Sarah Dessen books I need to get to but I'm not sure which one I'll want to read first...
I read Graceling back in high school (6ish years ago) and I really loved it! I hope you enjoy it! I also just finished the audio of On The Come Up and WOW, LOVE!
That top makes your eyes pop! Love it. Also your description of Love a la Mode is giving me major Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-off vibes. I know it's different, but......
You seem so relaxed in this video Hailey, your personality and aura always cheer me up, hope you're doing well 💕 Loved Jacksons cameo lol 😍😆 Gahhh everytime I watch TBRs/wrap ups/etc I end up adding to my massive GR-TBR. 😅 I've been in a reading slump for such a long time... we can do this though! 🙌🏻 BOUGHT DAISY JONES AND THE SIX LAST WEEKEND AHHH
I totally just bought Daughter of a Pirate King because of you! I am so glad I found your channel a few months back! I have read so much since following you thank you!!!
I dont know... But i have DNFed many fiction.. Including Cassandra Clare's books :( But i do enjoy contemporary.. I feel like i can connect to the characters more...
We don't have any books in common, sadly... But I loved Graceling and Fire and I'm sure I"ll love Bitterblue whenever I get around to it. I'm reading The Everlasting Rose right now and loving it.
I just (like 15 minutes ago) finished reading the 3rd Graceling novel! It is for sure a great series and the second book, Fire, is one of my all time favorite books ever!
I've got Enchantee and On the Come Up on my TBR too! I'd really love to get my paws on the new Tricia Levenseller book -- Daughter of the Pirate King is such a fun romp.
On the come up was so great! My 3rd 5 star read of the year. Love the writing style and how real it feels. Super excited to read Daisy Jones for my first tjr book 😁
I started getting into historical fiction with Philippa Gregory. I wanted to see The Other Boleyn Girl, But I was broke lol. So I got it from the library. I love her books!
Also i read Graceling last March and i loved it. I didn't really like the romance, but the story was amazing and the magic thing or whatever is really interesting
Oh my goodness, you are speaking to my heart! I had an epic reading slump of 2018 too! I have had the same problem with fantasy lately too. So everything you were saying, I was all....me too. Me too! I’ve been able to get out of the slump a little with audiobooks, but I think that I need to get better at DNFing. It sounds so freeing!
Good luck with your TBR, no pressure though (I'm going to fail mine, I think 😭). I'm also going to read Daisy Jones this month for the Bookmarked Bookclub ☺️🙃
Jackson is so cute! 💖💖💖 Omg I neeeeeed Like a Lovestory, now !!! Wahahaha! Your puns are the best! 😂 I recommend the Manga The Roses of Versailles to you. It's also set in Marie Antionettes court but told from the Perspektive of her guard and the Art is wonderful! I liked The Selection, so I guess I'll read The Beholder as well ^^ There are Two more books about dresses I found: Spin the Dawn, If the magic fits. Both r on my list^^
So happy to hear you are excited about reading again! So wonderful! My TBR this month has a mystery theme, so I'll be reading The Third Twin by CJ Omololu, Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson, and A Study in Charlotte and The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro.
Not here in Northern Ontario lol... We have a storm coming this weekend apparently and we normally get one at the beginning of April lol then it decides to melt
I am still reading Blackwing, a dark fantasy by Ed Mcdonald, but I have been rotation reading across genres. Now that you mentioned The Last Magician, I am motivated to try it. It's calling to me from one of my bookshelves now. Thanks.
If it makes you feel better about reading older books I just read a book I’ve had for 20 years!!! Ghostlight by Marion Zimmer Bradley. The rest of the series is on my TBR. Warrior of the Wild is a great book you should enjoy it. It’s a fast read and has a great main character.
This part of Canada is nowhere near spring lol. The snow if practically taller than me and it snowed so much yesterday we had to shovel out of the house. My puppy loves it though so I'm loving the snow still. Usually I resent it by now
My March TBR is March Mystery Novel Month where I read mystery books. I did it last March and I absolutely enjoyed it. Apart from the mystery books, I'll be reading three UA-cam books because of two UA-camrs birthdays in March - Zoe Sugg "Zoella" and Alessia Saccone Joly (the UA-cam channel "Sacconejolys"). I'm so excited 😍😍
I’m doing a mARChathon. That’s probably not original but it’s what I’m calling it, where I’m trying to get through as many e-arcs as I can! I’ve got 40 odd from NetGalley (I’ve had lots of them for more than a year) and I’ve read 2 atm, and am on my 3rd. The ones that I’ve read have been 4.5 and 5 star reads though!
I am going to read Daisy Jones and the six, when my book of the month gets here. Hopefully by the middle to the end of next week. My friend bookbabe88, just finished it. I read a little sample of it and the little bit I read really interested me.
For March, I'm reading: A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer (currently loving) Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke (phone is broken so can't continue the audio book atm :( Death of Dulgath by Michael Sullivan The Black Witch by Laurie Forest The Secret History by Donna Tartt And a whole bunch of manga because I'm trash for them and they make me feel like I'm getting a lot done since all of these books are 500 pages or more. lol
I just finished reading With this Pledge & OMG it was so good i even cried. Is a historical Romance but not really romantic lol. Based on the Battle Of Franklin with real characters & events. 🙌
On The Come Up is really good! I really liked it but I just have a soft spot for Angie Thomas😊😊 Although I do believe I like The Hate U Give just a little more❤
