First time on your channel and I love it 👍 I just got mine yesterday and the main issue I have with it is that the REC button doesn’t seem to work with the Blackmagic Camera App… It works on other apps tho but not BMC. Which is particularly annoying when fitting the Lexar Go over the screen of the phone (like you briefly showed in a quick b-roll early in the video) as the on screen rec is covered by the ssd… 🙄 The SSD Bracket is the only way I found to fit all accessories at once: SSD, Wireless Mic and charging Although, the charging doesn’t seem to go through in my case… I don’t understand why ! Even plugin phone and gimbal together with the proprietary cable doesn’t seem to work all the time, but I never managed to make it works through the hub for some reasons 🤷🏽♂️ I was looking for a software update in the Hohem Joy app, and could find my current version but not how to check for updates… Overhaul, a rough start for me. But, I am a profesional videographer getting his first smartphone gimbal…. I might be asking too much of it 🙄
I tested the tracker about 4 meters away from me with the new version, no problems. But I haven't tested the old one for reference. I only know that Hohem have advised they have improved it.
I have another question. My M7 just arrived, and I also got a Lexar Go 2TB SSD w/hub, but when I plug the hub into the gimbal it doesn't charge my phone (my phone charges when I plug it directly into the gimbal though. I also plugged the hub into an external battery and my phone still wouldn't charge. As a matter of fact, the only way that I can get it to work is by plugging the hub into my MacBooks charger. Have you had any problems with your Lexar Go charging your phone?
You need to make sure the cable to charge the phone is going into the right port on the Lexar. I didn't realise this to begin with and had maybe the same issue with it not charging, once I realised it had a specific port for power, I didn't have any other problems. So if it's not that, it could be an issue with the Lexar.
@ thanks for the response. I have been plugging it into the charge port on the hub, and the only power source that works for me is my 61W wall charger for my MacBook. It’s probably an issue with the hub :-/ I sent Lexar support an email so hopefully I’ll know more in a day or two! Thanks for your help!
Same issue here… I am afraid that it might actually be That the hub is asking for higher W 😢 But please keep me updated, as I cannot deal with it right now, I’m in travel around Indonesia for 5 weeks 🎉 Ps: Do you also have an issue with the Rec button of the gimbal not working in Blackmagic Camera App ? Hmm I managed to get the app to trigger recording through the Hohem by connecting the Bluetooth first. Surprised it doesn’t work for you.
