Yeah TBH, majority of the stuffs we learned in the school won't be used once in society. Like take sejarah and mathematics as examples, despite your sejarah is good why should people hire you for that? Is useless, and mathematics you only need to know the basic like plus minus multiplied and divide. Despite you're smart but if you're a couch potato, people won't hire you.
