microsoft getting companies that weren't cooking games people actually wanted is basically fitting for them. arkane austin were not cooking, bethesda were not cooking, heck even 343 were not cooking that well with how halo is launched. xbox is a brand that is filled with chefs that are overly paid for not cooking the recipes everyone loved them for.

Arkane Austin wasn’t cooking?? Prey and its expansion Mooncrash are some of the best immersive sim content ever made. It didn’t sell astonishingly well but reviewed stellarly by critics and players alike. Redfall was a misfire that falls on Zenimax management’s shoulders, there was no way to make that project come through successfully. But yeah Bethesda hasn’t had a success in almost 10 years and 343 hasn’t had one ever except Halo 4’s launch which was only as successful as it was because of Halo’s then-popularity and goodwill earned by Bungie.
I don’t understand why Halo Infinite didn’t do better. The campaign was really good, a huge step up from 4 and 5. The multiplayer may have sucked, but it was free, and who cares about multiplayer anyway?
Watching the hellblade drama is like being an NPC in a Korean drama. There's some shit going down at corporate between the main protagonist but we know nothing about it, and all we get are shambled outcomes without any idea who to root for.
At the beging of the video he just explained to you about him watching the clicks and watch time on his videos every UA-camr do that to see what type of content gets the most play time and clicks and shitting on Xbox fits the algorithm
@@chrisjerome4111 Yea that's on me for not completing it before commenting. I was referring to a podcast with Hellblade dev from Friends Per Second where the developer just looked like he was held at gunpoint, avoiding every question. Situation is weird regardless

Was it heavenly sword, devil may cry which everyone hated, enslaved, or the unknown game mentioned in this video that failed, hellblade 1 which wasn't even a borderline indie game with a 83 metacritic score? I think nowadays Xbox just throws anything and everything out and just hope it turns out alright whereas PlayStation most of the time they manage to get some truly awesome games out like stellar blade sure it's had controversy because people are afraid of sexy but it is a really really good PlayStation exclusive but most Xbox exclusive games since this gen started have either been a flop or they've just turned out kinda meh
There isn't even much activity in the Hellblade or Xbox subreddits. There is practically zero support base for this game, it's only been mentioned as a tool in the console war. Going to be a brutal flop.

Another reason they might’ve picked those two studios to shut down is because redfall and hi-fi rush are both pretty recent releases. Which would mean that they weren’t very far into development on their next projects. So rather than shut down a studio that is four years, deep into making a game, They could shut down two studios that had a game come out within the last year and were still in early stages of their next one.
Obviously, the failure of red fall probably played a big part in that, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was also a factor
Review embargo is lifted ONE HOUR before release?? That's a huge signal, not sure if it's good or bad but it seems more likely toward the latter. The first game was pretty good but one has to wonder if they really expanded on anything with a runtime of 8 hours, probably half of that being cutscenes.

I really like Xbox and i liked Hellblade, i hope this new one is great but it does seem really strange that Microsoft its just like “oh yes we have a new game this month”, for me it doesn’t matter if its a short game or not, its a game that Xbox had as one of the great games of this year so unless they realized this game is bad it doesn’t make sense to ignore it, it makes way more damage to the Xbox branch to ignore it than go full out supporting the game and if its a short game thats not a big deal, it can be a great game.

Yep, saw Halo Infinite and Redfall EVERYWHERE (and ofc Starfield) hell I even remember seeing Forza Horizon 5 & Motorsport plastered across Busses etc. 🤷♂️
it also doesn't help that hellblade is a contemporary type of game at this point these years in the current generation. there's less surprise and wonder with the game, it's kinda like the opposite of an hi-fi rush where the game has more mainstream marketing but less visible intrigue unless if you're already a fan of games like Hellblade or stories with Hellblade.
Honestly shut down Ninja Theory and move those devs to studios that make actual games. The motion capture and fidelity is there but what a boring game.

5:08 on a random note, this info is interesting Luke, I hope with Remnant 2 I have played 200 hours others play for a lot longer, so hopefully a lot of compensation for those devs from Xbox
Reviews already on UA-cam. Luke all your predictions came true. Stunning audio and visuals but quite shallow gameplay. Puzzles are like for children, fight a bit different but not great
This game makes sense if it was released with series X release, now its just a showcase for the engine & motion capture tech, and even on trailers they were saying exactly that

3:00 I get what you’re saying but I much prefer the diversity of gamepass games than have the same game trying to keep you playing for days… it might be less profitable but it sticks with the players as a better game before it’s ran to the ground. If Xbox was to spend extra money to make smaller prestige games rather than only live service games I’d have big respect for them. I don’t want 10 different war zones and apex type games.

They literally shut down all the most popular Xbox subreddits so people couldn't talk about how much of a waste of resources this game was. Series X subreddit, 3+ million users, locked permanently. They don't want people talking about this.
I really like Ninja Theory, they have made some really cool games. Still Enslaved is my favourite title they made so far. Apparently, there is a rumour that Microsoft has already greenlit another Hellblade title. Whether there is any truth to this, is another thing.
The first reviews are out it looks like it's actually barely 5 hours long. If Senua didn't have to limp, crawl etc a bunch of times it would be even less.
I remember a tweet from Colt or some other xbox bootlicker way back after GOW Ragnarok came out. It went something like this "SONY WILL REGRET MAKING RAGNAROK CROSSGEN GAME!!11" and several Hellblade 2 screenshots were attached.
I find it odd they always get so much grief for Bleeding Edge. They said many times leading up to its release that it was just a little passion project to do something different.
I think their biggest issue is that it’ll take them time to adjust to the amount of resources they now have, the new expectations, etc.
I’m looking forward to see what they’ll do in the future.

Some people are even saying that Hellblade 2 should’ve just been a free game that came pre installed in Xbox consoles like Sony for astro bot with the PS5. Cause Hellblade 2 does a good job of showing off the Xbox power I suppose 🤔
Therefore it should’ve been free to all Xbox owners regardless if they was subscribed to Xbox game pass or not. Which sounds like it would’ve been a good idea 🤔

It’s time for Xbox to look at their C suit team and if they would be better absorbing veterans from Activision and Zenimax/Bethesda into the roles, Redfall and now Hellblade 2 are mistakes that would have more competent companies scrambling for new leadership
I really liked Hellblade 1, but to me the best Ninja Theory games ever made are Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the west.
I’m confident that I’m going to love the game, I loved the first game but an 8 hour game isn’t going to win game of the year.
Maaaan Defining Duke... The one part of LSM that just doesn't fit/gel with the rest of the company/shows imo. I never listen to it and I kinda don't enjoy when Matty or Cog come onto stuff like Constellation and Summon Sign 🤷♂️

For example, subpar games have been created frequently. So they get rid of creative ips that arent guaranteed and do marvel and Disney based games (jones and blade) cause it guarantees a fan base. The gameplay can be fine and they will still sell. Not impressed.

It’s mainly driven by the fact that there are some major warning signs. How has this game been hyped up as a major release for the console while receiving zero advertisement and a review embargo on release date. Doesn’t even seem like Xbox believes it so neither do the consumers before they ever even touch it

@@vp_wrld Sony has their hands in everyone’s pockets right now. A lot of outlets very obviously have Sony pony’s rooting for Xbox’s demise. So I’d be pretty cautious about that too. Starfield was assigned to a Sony pony at IGN who specifically appointed himself to the review using a position of power.
Everytime a big studio release a Trailer without gameplay, I knew it will be 50/50 it won't be a polished game.

Review embargo on release date is huge flag. Look at Suicide Squad, Redfall for example.
