Starting UA-cam. Sitting here totally on my own, no distractions whatsoever and at the top of my UA-cam is a new one hour and twentytwo minutes painting and talking by Mr Davies. The day simply couldn't be any better! Thank you Sir!!
As a fan of yours, I appreciate all you do. You’re not only an interesting fellow, you’re quite the artist. I love that you are so generous as a teacher. ❤
Another great video! The addition of the windmill adds a nice human element to that wonderful sky and landscape. Thank you again for what you do on UA-cam and your generosity with your work. Would love to see you take on the Vermeer detail scene.
Such a valuable and fun way to send an hour. It’s an absolute pleasure (and mesmerising) watching you paint. I love the way your cat appeared…and then faded away - like the Cheshire Cat! Your painting is quite beautiful. I often think of the wonderful Constable when I look at your work. I, for one, think it’s a great idea to do a Vermeer detail. Fantastic. Thank you Stuart! PS: You’re right to point out the wonderful benefits of modern technology.
I enjoyed watching you paint this Stuart. You have mentioned in the past that you normally avoid painting buildings etc but it was great to see you paint this windmill. Your land and sky look amazing as always.
Hi I'm 6 minutes through your video and I have to say I enjoyed a lot. very amazing and warm Showmanship and incredible Art you are teaching . I just want to say thank you🎉
Your magic touch always amazes me anew each time you address the canvas with the incredible vision you share. Yes, please, a little Vermeering would be a treat, please. You see things before the rest of us can imagine the possibility. I learn so much from watching and thinking about what you create. It makes me Try, in my own limited scope, to gin up some magic of some nature in my own scratches and scrawls, and I enjoy it all so much. Thank you.
You have inspired and taught me for years and today I have finally started painting and I couldn't be happier. Thank you all that you do for us , Mr. Davies! God bless you!
Oooh now youve done it, you made a real gem. A big painting with amazing skys and a freaking mill!!! If i was rich i would go after this painting for sure. A mill in the painting 😍
Sir, I doubt that even one child has ever run away in fear from your presence! Glad you chose to share some of your human image with us. I like this recording design...puts me in tne mind of visitation with a dear old friend!
Love, love this painting Stuwart. First I'm Dutch but live in the US., however,r I love that you put a building in your painting. It seems to give It more life. I would love to see more from or buildings, people, doing stuff outside in your beautiful landscape. Of course, your paintings r always stunning, but that little something ounce & while is nice. I too I'm a mature pinter & always have to put something else besides scenery. Learning how you do It is very helpful & enjoyable. Thank You. for sharing your craft. It really helps. Bonnie K. 😆🖌💕
Stuart puts a building in one of his paintings! Should be front page news😅. What a wonderful landscape. Nature keeps cloud moving so why can't you, as a painter, keep changing and adding? Marvellous. I wonderful those who keep asking about acrylic (perhaps because of odour?) have considered water-based oils, I'm sure they would work with this technique? Thanking you, Stuart, for the entertainment and education. You have knees! 😂
absolutly fabulous. watched in full (short coffee break half way} not sure if i prefered the sky before you tweeked or after . eityer way its brilliant. the addition of the windmill definately adds to the overall picture. perhaps you might consider doing so more often.
Hi Stuart. You have got a lot more than just a few viewers who will always stay fixated from the beginning to the very end of all of your videos. The most captive of audiences. 😁 It was about time that we have finally got to see your knees. We now know (for certain) that you do have a lower half. Stay Healthy! 💖👍
I love the texture of your brush strokes. It's quite depressing here with such limited selection of brushes, paints and canvas, so we have to make it work with what we have available.
Now I'm single man after 23 years I've bought a puppy I pick her up Saturday and ordered myself paints canvas and everything else for my new house.I haven't painted in over 4 months, but you are a big inspiration, mate. I hope your health is better. My kidney transplant has been a success. JUST PAINT!!!!!
another very enjoyable video, thanks for taking the time to do it. I would def enjoy the Vermeer project. I loved the picture up to about 38 mins but I really don't think the orange/green path improves it. What do I know. Keep up the good work.
Loved it, up until 37:20, then started shouting "No! No!, Stop!" lol And that footpath, should have gone straight to the door, because, as you know, us humans always take the shortest route. :o)
Well, this one was particularly interesting. Thanks. Perhaps an ala prima interpretation of the Vermeer section would work timing wise - seeing these changes of subject and technique is helpful and entertaining.
BINGO!!! I was once asking for the paper (Apta) that you use, by the little tiny print, here in the states, at least here in NYC, is the paper that you usually find in public bathrooms to dry your hands, is tough, it doesn’t tear easily and it doesn’t dissolve easily neither, also it has a bit of time lapse to absorb. Knowing this, I guess I can tranquil go to sleep.😊 Thank you Stuart!!!
Very interesting watching you add the windmill though have to say my preference is not to have buildings I like the landscape simply as a foil for the sky
That windmill fit into the landscape nicely. I like bigger canvases for some reason. Every so often volgov posts a painting video. Its a compilation of video clips throughout the painting. You can see the changes made, but not all shown..& it's fine. So a vermier like endeavor I'm sure would be great! I'm guessing there are still very old structures in South France just as rustic as vermiers images. In 50 years an image of a woman in today's dress will look bonnet like, & antique to the viewer I guess. More time consuming, such a piece, but..its Not for temporary commercial use! Back in the 70s, 80s, most business here in the u.s., was all by word of mouth! Deals were done with a handshake, even 6 figure deals, without contract. You were as good as your word. One bad word spread like wildfire, & you'd be ruined. I've witnessed it. People talk..still holds true today, except much faster.
Hi Trevor, It appears that some had a fixed ladder and others didn't. Later on as they developed, it was only the extreme top which moved, so the ladder was replaced by an interior stair/ladder.
Thank you for doing a building, very educational :) , I always watch the whole video. I got a question: what was the thickness of the boards you use? you said it somewhere but I can't remember where and in what video
Hello from Pakistan, hope you're doing good. I absolutely adore your style of painting.. I think painting should be only this way.. letting the brush become an extension of your arm and move freely.. I'd be grateful if you could paint the second highest mountain in the world, K2, situated in Pakistan (partially).. since I started painting (probably a couple of months ago) I am drawn intentionally and unintentionally into painting sky and mountains.. I am terrible with trees and foliage but I hope after watching and copying your approach, I will be able to achieve fast results in improving my painting. Lastly, pls share if you have some info about why some people or artists I should say, are more attracted to painting certain things, like I am obsessed with sky clouds and mountains.. Many thanks and happy painting. Annie

Really nice to see you moving about your studio, a good idea for a change, and you look in good health so I hope you are feeling well👍

Opened YT, and there you are! A new demo with Stuart Davies. Made my day. Thank you, Mr. Davies.

46:43 I'm still here. So very much enjoy watching you paint (equally enjoy listening, as well). Thank you!
Beautiful piece as always Stuart. Great to see an addition of a building. Thanks for uploading

A new Stuart video! Yes! I like the painting you started with, but I will gladly watch you take it to the next level.
That was absolutely fascinating Stuart, I watched every minute of it! So clever 👏
Beautiful Stuart

And another masterpiece! Thank you, Stuart.
Thank you Stuart, love your vids.
Great to see a windmill painted by you. Vermeer: yes please.
Looking good Stu! Cheers, great work!
Dear Mr. Davies, you have a new found watcher from the beautiful republic of El Salvador! I absolutely love your work....Stunning!

Such a natural view of you! 🥰🥰
I'm having my dinner, sipping a glass of wine while watching your video.....quite soothing and great for my digestion! 😂
I love windmills!!

I think I remember you mentioning your kidney problem. Glad to hear the transplant works!

The miller is a keep fit fanatic and wouldn't dream of taking a shortcut!
@@StuartDavies 😆
It won't be great if you could show your process of doing a Vermeer detail, maybe a 2-3 part series? Enjoyed the windmill, and thanks for sharing
Do the Vermeer, yes...nice windmill!
Well, this one was particularly interesting. Thanks. Perhaps an ala prima interpretation of the Vermeer section would work timing wise - seeing these changes of subject and technique is helpful and entertaining.
Wonder if a small pile of unused stones could fit on the ground around the windmill
Love your art
Yes, Do the Vermeer Please !

Stuart a question. As you say the windmill is swiveled to meet the wind. How I wonder do they get into the top unit? A separate ladder?
Hi Trevor, It appears that some had a fixed ladder and others didn't. Later on as they developed, it was only the extreme top which moved, so the ladder was replaced by an interior stair/ladder.
Thank you for doing a building, very educational :) , I always watch the whole video. I got a question: what was the thickness of the boards you use? you said it somewhere but I can't remember where and in what video
4mm ,I found it on the Q and A on your website, thank you :)
It's the sails, Stuart
The perspective looks out and the bottom sail is surely too short?
Yes, I know. There will be another video over the weekend just on the windmill.

Cartoony look?...You ought to see mine :D
hi there is no shadow for the windmill
It's hiding behind the windmill. It may make an appearance in the next video when I finish the mill.
Hobby means something very different in Glasgow but fortunately this is definitely not that.
Sorry meant to say jobby. It autocorrected.
Is it oil paint?
Just kidding 😅
You rock!
