  • OTAs are underway and the Seahawks sent Geno Smith, Rayshawn Jenkins, and Multiple Mike to the podium to share updates and impressions from the early days of the Macdonald era. What were the biggest clues? Does Macdonald actually like Geno or is he dropping hints that Howell is a long term answer? And with a crowded safety room is Rayshawn an early chosen leader? We cover that and much more on this episode of the Sea Hawkers Podcast.

    Geno has the best opportunity this year of his career, he’s got one of the best opportunities in the NFL with the weapons he has, if they fix the line just a bit that team had a top offense the last two years. Geno was at the pro bowl for goodness sake’s!

      Big division amongst folks seemingly league wise on Howell. I think he's a fantastic backup with a future upside, which is perfect for right now.

  • @MaximilianBocek
    @MaximilianBocek 28 днів тому

    I'm with Clinton on the Howell front. No, he's not going to seriously challenge Geno, who looks great; but IMO Howell could be (could be) polished up and succeed in just the way Geno was and has. Guaranteed success? No. Worth a shot? Yes. The Hawks seem to be making hay on the QB hysteria, people making rash judgments on kids, basically, and sticking to those judgments in the face of evidence (like Geno doubters)-leaving an aftermarket for chewed up and spit out QBs. Good on John for developing this buying strategy. What this sofa-denter sees in Howell is a football player who is sudden and violent in his approach, a bit like Brett Favre (no, no, no ...! Yes!). I'm not so sure he can't process, but I'm going to wait and see.

  • @markusoverly8898

    We needed to make Cap Space, so dropping Lock for Howell is the main purpose of going after Howell. This is why we should go after QB- Archie Manning in 2026/2027 draft. We must trade our 1st rd picks in 2025and a future #1 along with a second rder to move up in 2026 draft. The 2025 QB Draft class doesn't look like much, but 2026/2027 drafts are loaded.

    • @SeaHawkersPodcast

    Why so negative guy. I know we can’t know anything till the games start, but I think there is a lot to be positive about. I think it could be a very good year and I am optimistic. I usually agree with Adam with QB things but have to disagree on Howell. Not sure why all the criticism. Give him a chance in the pre-season at least.

    Did this guy actually say Sam doesn't know how to throw? Completely ridiculous...if you can't see his arm strength and his talents then your opinion is pretty much worthless. Sam may not become an every day starter, but to pretend he's terrible is just moronic.

    Brett Favre in his first year starting year threw for 3,303 yards 60.7% completion , 19 TDs and 24 Picks

      @@SeaHawkersPodcast 😂 see here you go again, Adam … did I say he was Brett Favre? No, but maybe he will be. I simply was pointed out a FACT, something your screeching rant was missing completely, that Brett Favre had a rough first season and I’m sure there was many people saying similar things about him to what you’re say about Howell.
      Howell 1 year in the NFL and given the circumstance the actually played really well. Players that played with him all had good things to say, he’s tough as nails after getting his ass best for 17 games, and if you were to actually watch his tape he made some really impressive throws last year
      I still think Geno is better at this stage but it’s not far-fetched to think that Howell could learn from Geno for a year or two and take over as our QB of the future and become one of the top signal callers in the game

    • @SeaHawkersPodcast
      @SeaHawkersPodcast  Місяць тому

      So you watch the “film” and like Sam. Cool. I watch the “film” and don’t think he can play in this league and it’s an uninformed screeching rant made by a clown. I’m sorry we disagree. If someday I end up wrong about the matter, I’ll say so. You’re not wrong that Sam is tough. He is. He’s also very inconsistent with his accuracy and a slow processor. He lit it up early against some bad defenses. Then struggled mightily down the stretch. He played in a pass happy offense that also inflated his numbers. These are all facts too. I give two craps if the likes of Manning and Farve struggled their first season 20 freaking years ago. Sam is not on that trajectory or even a starter type trajectory. I didn’t say you thought he was Farve. I said you compared him to Farve. Which again is hilarious. 😂
      So yes, I feel pretty certain he is not the future and I say it like I mean it and with confidence. If that ruffles your feathers, sorry, not sorry. But hey at least I’m not alone in my “terrible” take. Simms doesn’t have Sam in his top 40 this year. Even freaking Stidham made that list. Adam

      @@SeaHawkersPodcast neither one of us really know what’s gonna happen. Drives me nuts is the smugness that you shoot him with. If he was in the same draft class that we just had, he probably would’ve been picked ahead of nix It may be even instead of McCarthy.
      I don’t understand how people can look at one year in Washington, which she actually didn’t play that bad considering he had arguably the worst offensive line in football. it’s hard to evaluate processing speed when you’re running for your life every, same thing we say for a lot of Genos play last year.
      I don’t know if Sam will be good great or terrible, but it is irritating people so absolutely in their assessment of him with such a small sample size that again wasn’t even all bad
      Give the kid some credit quit being a hater, it takes away from you content When you’re so smug about it

    • @SeaHawkersPodcast
      @SeaHawkersPodcast  Місяць тому

      I’m not being a hater, it’s called being a realist. In todays culture, which is ever devolving into hyper sensitivity, I understand that direct, unflinching, confident statements said with conviction trigger more and more people. If it comes across as smug to you… so be it. You’re entitled to the opinion. I call it being honest.
      If the jury is still out on Sam for you, great. You can have that opinion. Free country. I believe between college and the league there is totally enough evidence for me to say he isn’t it. But seriously man, Sam would be drafted ahead of Nix and JJ if he came out this year? There is precisely a zero percent chance that would happen. In his own AWFUL class Pickett, Ridder, Willis, Corral, and Zappe were taken ahead of him. Cmon man.

    Lucas has a arthritic knee- probably will never get better. good chance he starts the season PUP/ IR. That's why they drafted 2 Guards and someone who could play RT. They also have a few Guards that are rookie free agents. Geno is not the future. they didn't trade for Howell To sit on the bench. Except for Witherspoon and Woolen, I don't think they like the CB's very much from last year. It's going to take 8 games for all these pieces to come together.
