I am so glad to hear this was helpful. I hope you keep doing these reviews as I find when I do them everything just seems to better fall in the place, and I am more in the driver seat both professionally and personally in my life.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. In the reviewing next actions step, I was wondering what was meant by the "review for reminders of further action steps to record"?
Thank you for your question. I look at this as when I am getting current with my action lists sometimes by looking at them it reminds me of other actions I might like/ or need to take. The point of this step is to just to make sure all of your next actions lists are current and that you are committed to do them as soon as you can and/or that these are the action options you want to see when you are going to do work. Cheers, Meg
Another incomplete weekly review for me. But boy, I feel so much better doing a little of everything in one go (compared to trying to review everything to perfection but losing the whole week) Also, this guided review helps me so much in not getting into rabbit trails!
"this is not about collecting backlog." How do you define backlog? For me, I always start my weekly review by removing dishes and obvious trash from the living room coffee table where I work, and then I tidy the floor and sofas, writing anything actionable (besides getting put away) on a piece of paper and putting it in my inbox before I put away the item. Then I tidy the table and move anything actionable to the inbox, gather all the supplies into a pile, and then I start the get clear part. I just can't stand a messy room. It stresses me out and I won't be able to feel the full benefit of the weekly review until I've cleaned up.
I got sick some time ago, and I stopped processing my inbox and I didn't do my weekly review that week, but I continued to capture and put stuff in my physical inbox. Now I've got so much to process that my weekly review has been going on for 2 weeks and hasn't finished yet. And I'm continuing to capture even more. I'm so overwhelmed. Help!
HI Lulla- There are 3 parts to the weekly review and it appears from what you wrote that the Get Clear part is going to take you more time to get back on track and this happens to all of us. In that case, I always recommend to reflect about how many hours it is going to take to GTD Clear again and possible either make that a next action or schedule time in the calendar and then move on to the next section. Get Current. The weekly review is not a time to get caught up as then the weekly review can take many hours. Then you can go to the Get Current part of the review and do as much as you can of that section. It can take several reviews to get back on track. Hope that helps. Meg
@@megedwards5136 I haven't finished a proper review in 3 months, my in list is at 2400 items right now :/ My in list usually gets to 100-120 everyday and I can never seem to get it to zero. I even have an hour booked in my calendar to process it, but it's not enough. Something always seems to blow up. I feel like quitting GTD as I feel I'm using the capture as "I am noting this to get it off my mind & forever forget about it" Any tips?
Thanks for your question. This varies for so many people so another way to answer this is when you look at your project are you overwhelmed by it? If so you may then want to put some of them on your someday list or create a projects on hold list. What you are looking for is a project list where you have the bandwidth and resources to do the next action for each project. I hope that helps. Meg

This is a helpful resource to keep me in review mode rather than switching into doing.
Thank you! We're glad you found this to be helpful 😊
Ahh, this felt good. Thank you for uploading this!

Thanks for sharing this as I think others will benefit from hearing that a little review is better then no review at all.
