I remember when this plane was released, it was pretty lackluster and tough to play just as a gunfighter. But those 4x AIM-9Bs really help make it competitive. Looking forward to eventually getting it.

I'll usually accept a head-on pass if I don't see another way to set-up. It's mainly because I'm alright at gunnery, but I suck ass at setting-up angles, so if an enemy wants a head-on, I usually won't be able to get guns on any other way.

The question your asking about, why fighters go head to head? My answer, because it's mostly a reference to jousting, dating back to the dark ages. Being able to confront your opponents head-on and survive, was a means to show ones test of strength and courage, but mostly pride. I think players have adopted that move as a last resort, unfortunately it's a double-edge sword and it doesn't always work. Hope that answers your question...
I think it's more of a "Eh what the hell; who dares, wins" mentality.

The F2H is a sexy bird, and her 4 20mms are fun and deadly...makes quick work of delicate fighters. They take skill, but they are fun to play. US naval planes are the best looking in game imo

Im a newish pilot, main tanker, and i have unlocked the first G91 and the M163 what Ive noticed while im grinding, all gonna climb and see 1 enemy and all goes headon, 1 will get the kill, or Both die to, you get a 95% activity plus sl and RP, instead of trying dog fights and lose to a better pilot. And get nothing.
