I grew up listening to the Doors. The girl in the video was Pamela Courser, the love of Jim Morrison. She was the person that discovered Jim's body in Paris when he died in 1971. He was only 27. Pamela died 3 years later of a heroin overdose in 1974. She too was only 27. You might consider the Door movie for your movie reaction channel. Val Kilmer and Meg Ryan play Jim and Pam. I also agree with the RSR family that LA Woman should be your next Doors song.

I read "No one here gets out alive", a biography on Jim, very interesting and informative even if some critics say the author embelished it in places.

The Doors used minor notes in many many of their songs, hence the haunting sound.
Other bands did as well, like the Moody Blues. It can sound mysteriously beautiful but can also be a bit depressing.
I like to mix up my listening to those bands with more upbeat artists so as to keep my mind in a positive place.
Have a great blessed Christmas with your sweet family. ♡♡

@@truthteller356 They've done a lot of the top Doors songs that people suggest, including the more popular but (imo) less interesting suggestions. To be fair, though, it's worth remembering that J&A don't know the Doors music like we do so, until they hear it, every song title they see is just a title to them. They have no idea if it's a good, bad, or meh song. The only thing they have to go by when picking a song to react to is how many people in their suggestions suggest a particular title or thumbs-up other people's suggestions. Whatever appears to be getting the most traction in the comments is what they react to. Unfortunately, for some reason, more people in these comments suggest songs like "Touch Me" or "Hello I Love You" than suggest "The End," "LA Woman," or "Five To One" (maybe because the majority of music listeners gravitate to the poppier, more accessible songs and the fans of the more quintessential tracks get drowned out). If you want J&A to react to "LA Woman" - as I do - more people need to suggest it and/or thumbs-up it. Otherwise we end up with the next reaction being "Soft Parade" or something (which is a fine song but arguably not the Doors at their height).
In fact, skimming through these comments right now, I'm seeing a lot of people requesting songs like "Moonlight Drive"... and there's the answer to your question as to why J&A picks songs like that instead.

Jim Morrison was a mortal god of music, an avatar of Dionysus IMO. A brilliant poet, incredible singer, but probably not the best human being to be involved with. Together with the rest of the band, they changed the face of music. So many bands back then were iconic in the history of music and I'm glad you're exploring them. Check out LA Woman, People Are Strange, Five to One, the End, and some of the lesser publicized ones--Spanish Caravan was brilliant.

The address of the house on Love Street is 8021 Rothdell Trail in Los Angeles. The 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom house in Laurel Canyon was the home of Jim Morrison and his girlfriend Pamela Courson in the early 1960s. Their neighbors were Frank Zappa and Joni Mitchell. It was restored after a fire in 2011 and it sold in 2015 for $1.6 million.

Jim Morrison wrote this song "Love street" about how he and Pamela (the lady in this video) lived in Laurel Canyon (in Los Angeles) on "Love street) and he sings about the house they lived in, the "garden", and the store across from their house, where they would both sit on their front porch and watch the people who go in and out of the market store, > "I wonder what they do in there"? You know just like "random thoughts" about their house on Love street in Laurel Canyon and watching the people going in and out of the market. .That house they both lived in is still there in Laurel Canyon on Love street and many people often stop by and check it out knowing that Jim Morrison and Pamela lived there at one time.

@@raiderrod3584 You're confusing good with accurate. It's not trash, it's quite an artful film. It just has little to do with who Morrison really was. Biopics are usually like that - well-made but having f*ck all to do with the real subject. (Funnily enough, when it first came out, Patricia Kennealy said she thought it was beautiful even though it wasn't the Jim she knew. She called the character "Jim the Pig Man". Later on she turned against the film, but back then even she agreed it was a well-made and engaging movie.)

BUT I REMEMBER HEARING MY FRIENDS OLDER BROTHER MENTIONED THAT HIS FAVORITE GROUP WAS THE DOORS, THIS BROTHER WAS PROBABLY IN HIS LATE TEENS DEFINITELY NO LONGER IN HIGH SCHOOL!! I THOUGHT IT WAS KIND OF INTERESTING THAT THAT OLDER GENERATION WOULD LIKE THE DOORS SO IT MADE ME CURIOUS AND WHEN I DOVE IN I BECAME A FAN INSTANTLY!!

It still saddens me to see him. I’m so glad Tom Cruise refused to do “Top Gun: Maverick” without him. I haven’t seen it yet but I heard that Val only had a couple of lines since he basically has no voice since the cancer. He may use a voice box to communicate. My whole attitude and my opinion about Tom Cruise has completely changed since I heard he did that for Val!

JIM MORRISON WAS DEFINITELY ONE OF THOSE SHOOTING STARS OR METEORS THAT BURN WITH INTENSITY BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME!!
JANIS JOPLIN AND JIMI HENDRIX WERE ALSO THOSE KIND OF STARS, A BRIGHT INTENSE BUT SHORT-LIVED BURN!!!
    RIP JIM, JANIS, & JIMI.

The Doors is my all time favorite. Right up there with Canned Heat. I got to see Robby Kreiger the guitar player live a few years ago and he is still just as good as in the 60’s

The Doors is also an Oliver Stone movie that you guys might want to do a reaction. It is rated R however and has some explicit scenes. But it is a WILD story! It stars Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison, who seems to disappear into the role! There's a lot of contesting over the accurate portrayal of Morrison in the picture, but it's a great movie.

I can't remember, but there was an interview of someone who knew Jim and he said while they were touring people would hand band members pills and powders as they were going on stage...Everyone threw them away , except Jim and he would just pop them in his mouth and go on... It's no wonder he seemed odd at times... Love you guys!!!

This is different from modern musicians how?

    • @russallert
      @russallert 2 роки тому +1

Yep, that happened on a European tour the band did with Jefferson Airplane. They were in Amsterdam (where drugs were legal) and the people were handing them all sorts of drugs. Jim got so messed up that he came out onstage during the Airplane's set and starting dancing erratically, then went backstage, collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital. The other Doors performed anyways, with keyboardist Ray Manzarek singing lead vocals - proof that he was the genius musician of the band.
