If you have not hit "The Crystal Ship" yet it should definitely be on your list!
My favorite. Chords are minor key until the end of the chorus. I remember learning that in guitar and that minor to major shift felt amazing.
Yes. 'Be-fore-you-slip, into, unconsciousness, I'd...like to have another kiss' Amazingly beautiful Song.
Your next Doors reaction should be “When The Music’s Over”.
I second that request. The album cut or the lyric video.
I third the request! One of their best. Also I don’t think they’ve reacted to “The End” yet or “Light My Fire”. But yeah do “When The Music’s Over” next.
Yes, yes, and yes! A definite must for anyone wanting a Sunset Strip ride along with “the lounge lizards from hell’s piano bar”
Yess pleaseeeeee❤🤘🏾
Turn out the lights
"This is the strangest life I've ever known." Such a great lyric and such a fantastic song. RIP Jim and Ray.
That's a classic along with "Cancel my subscription to the resurrection - Send my credentials to the house of detention - I've got some friends inside"
The doors create a mood that no band before or since have ever matched
I agree “When the Music’s Over” is a hypnotic piece of work. One of my favorite’s. I love the Doors music so much. Every song is so unique and creative!
Can’t go wrong with the doors. Their whole library is killer.
Do they still say 'Killer'?
Lol... But yes can never go wrong with The Doors 💯
5 to 1 should be next
My daughter just turned 21 and she thinks Riders In the Storm is cool. You are right about their library and it's timeless.
If you want another "haunting trippy" Doors song, one that takes you on an internal trip like a dark Pink Floyd, check out what is arguably the Doors' signature song: "The End." And if you want a trippy Doors song that goes a little harder while encapsulating so much of what makes the Doors the Doors, check out "Not To Touch The Earth." The song is a section of a larger performance piece called "The Celebration of the Lizard," which is rooted in Jim's poetry, his fascination with shamanism, and is the origin of Jim's infamous nickname, "The Lizard King."
Another Doors song that goes pretty hard is "Five To One." It has a bit of a revolutionary vibe to it. And if you guys liked that one hard riff in "Waiting For The Sun," then "Wild Child" is another one you'll like because it has that sound running through most of it and the lyrics are, as always with Jim, poetic and mythological sounding in a way you don't get from any other band.
They won't do "The End", because they don't play longer songs. Same issue with "When the Music's Over", which breaks my heart.
@@Jessica_Roth Yeah, they tend to keep their videos relatively short but they've also done a few longer ones, particularly from Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Yes, etc. I think if they like a band and enough people request a song and/or like the comments that request the song, they'll do it even if it's a little longer. Just need enough likes on these comments to get them to the top of the list since I think J&A sort comments by most popular to find out "what the people want."
The End is the one.
I've recommended The End and The Soft Parade. Both are so great!
after all, Jim Morrison was "the Lizard King"
You gotta do L.A. Woman next. Jay, you would love the opening base line and play it on your base!😎
You're right that Jay would love the bass.. and Amber, being a roadhouse blues fan, would like the voice. I bet it could be her new favorite.
Fun fact: the opening guitar riff on the album version is playing “My Country Tis Of Thee”.
One of their best
Wait... They didn't react to L.A. Woman yet?
One of the most perfectly constructed songs evrrrr🎉🎉🎉
The Doors were magical and Jim was their poet in residence. Just think about that line "this is the strangest life I've ever known", indicating that he has known many. Mystical! A huge part of the soundtrack of my youth
Exactly and well said.
Doors had a 2nd poet in Mr. Robert Alan Krieger as well.
John Densmore is maybe one of the best theatrical drummers I've ever listened to😊 His ability to anticipate Jim's absolute insanity live on stage is unmatched
Thanks for letting us know about this.
Love this song. Another The Doors song to check out is Moonlight Drive. It was the very first song Robby Kreiger played with them and it’s the song that made Jim Morrison fall in love with the sound of a guitar being played with a bottle neck slide.
Great suggestion.
Also was the lyrics to this Jim Morrison read to Ray Manzarek on the beach (Venice?) around the first time they met (if my memory is right!)
Ray ran into Jim on the beach after attending film school together at UCLA.
Oh yes, L.A. Woman is a great song, too. Didn’t we all love when that album came out? I used to love listening to that album on road trips!
Simply the best rock band ever.
Don't forget their most famous signature song: Light My Fire. In its entirety, a definite trip
Yes, Light my Fire always brings back some good memories.
Thank you for my favorite Doors song! Please try Crystal Ship next or Not to Touch the Earth. Great job with The Who and The Doors tonight!
Consider adding The Doors movie to your movie reaction channel. Val Kilmer was fantastic as Jim Morrison.
Yes!! I think they'd really like to see the real life story and Val Kilmer was exceptionally good.
Yes, this movie is a must see.
The movie is very sensationalized and inaccurate.
Val Kilmer's performance was truly amazing, but the movie itself is total trash. All three of the surviving (at that time...RIP Ray) Doors disowned it and had a lot of anger towards Oliver Stone.
@@mattfulmer4243 Val Kilmer (and the whole cast) did a great job. The movie itself… 🤷♂️
LA Woman is Doors best work… must listen… Morrison is off the rails… & musicianship is top notch
Still waiting for Elton John’s Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding!
YES!!! I'll second that!!! It's my most favorite song of all time!
@@donnacorey5682 And Third that and 1000th that.
I found the Doors in 1981 when I was 19. My favorite group. CCR is a close #2.
You guys should do all the epic Doors numbers: "L.A Woman", "When the Music's Over" "The End" and "The Soft Parade". My all-time faves are "Maggie M'Gill", "Moonlight Drive" and "Hyacinth House".
Hyacinth House is my favorite Doors song.
Great pick! Please do "Moonlight Drive" - LIVE version!
Morrison Hotel is a great album. You Make Me Real and Land Ho! are a couple of tunes on it well worth hearing.
Best line: "This is the strangest life I've ever known..." 👍💯
LOVE the line " this is the strangest life I have ever known."..and he wasn't here for the quarantine during COVID! Speaking of which, if you Google Robbie Krieger, you'll find some videos where he shows you how to play the guitar part in some of their songs. Glad you reacted to this tune. I was just about to recommend it to you. Try Moonlight Drive next if you want to hear some trippy guitar!!
“There’s an ancient Chinese curse, ‘May you live interesting times’, and the 60’s were a *very* interesting time.” -Leonard “Spock” Nimoy
5 TO 1 !!!!
Great song
Jim Morrison, Born December 8th, ( like me), he’s my very first memory of music ( 1967, I was 2), and LIGHT MY FIRE went on…. True story of my memory 🤷🏻♀️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Nice! Love it!

From one Sagittarius to another a high percentage of entertainers are Leo and Sagittarius, fact
Takes me back to high school. Listening to albums in my room with my friends after school on rainy/snowy afternoons.
Five to one is another classic Doors you need to hit!
All-Time favorite band! 😎🚬
Love that you're back to the classic bands. Three great ones tonight.
Would love to see you guys do Crystal Ship next. Talk about haunting and trippy that's it!
This Was My Late Dad's Favorite Song Of The Doors, Great Reaction Guy's
Tripping mellow on pane. Oh, the colors!
I’ve been a Doors fan for as far back as I can remember which just so happens to be about the time they were in their heyday🤭One of my first musical memories was watching and most importantly listening to them play The Ed Sullivan Show when I was just a toddler👦😆I can remember riding in the car hearing their songs on the radio 📻 This song is one of my personal favorites👍I’ve always had the same reaction every time I hear it! It never gets old to me✌️🫶
Been listening every single day since I was 9. 32 years. I am so happy to see others discover and like The Doors as well. RIP JDM and RDM
Are you sure you haven't missed a single day in the last 32 years?
@@keithrfield 100%
Another great one! Thanks
When the Music's Over or the Crystal Ship memorable Doors hits...
This Doors tune was my go to whenever I felt mellow. I felt that way because it meant to me a new day coming and a chance for a new start. Great reaction!
You guys really have to do the 1991 movie The Doors on your movie reactions, IMHO Val Kilmer's best acting role, that includes Doc, Ice Man et al
Great performance, shitty movie.
Tombstone and his portrayal of Doc Holliday was his magnum opus.
@@leftcoaster67 don't get me wrong, he was iconic as Doc, he was fantastic as Ice, however he WAS Jim Morrison
That's just my opinion
@@michaellockhart554I agree. It was incredible! I disagree with some of Oliver Stone's decisions, as did Patricia Kinnealy and the band themselves, great movie and Val's best role.
💯 agree. Val, to me, since the doors movie is him playing Jim, playing whatever other character he supposed be
They can never be put into a category...and thanks again Jay, for the DD tee!
Great reaction!! Long been one of my top Doors tracks. Indeed, when the heavy, fuzzy keys/guitar kicks in, it's glorious! Then in comes Jim's melodic voice & poetic lyrics.
The Doors was truly the sum of all parts - Densmore is a superb drummer, Krieger, such an inventive guitarist, and keys master Ray Manzarek (RIP) - what he could do in an age before synths was nothing short of miraculous! Then there's Jim (RIP). As iconic and larger than life as one could get. Love this.
I had forgotten how amazing this song is!
I’m such a Doors fan. Got hooked in high school this was me and my besties spring song, waiting for our summer vacation trips and then when those trips were coming to a close. Summers Almost Gone was our jam! We had a doors song for every thing really. And in the late 90s early 2000’s our friends didn’t always get it 🤷🏻♀️🤣
Classic toon from them, the Lounge Lizard was the man, but nothing without that magical band.
Lots of songs on this "Waiting For The Sun" LP/CD are top notch.
Another Trippy Doors song that doesn't get the recognition it deserves is "The Soft Parade" it's from the album of the same title released in 1969 during the middle of their career. Fans are divided some love it and some hate it because the album contains quite a few songs that have added Strings and horns
a more groovy song and one of my favorite from the Doors would be ''Peace frog '' .
You two have such an elevated understanding of music.Things about certain artists that I thought only myself heard and felt you two hit on the head of the nail.I wish to see your channel absolutely explode.Yall are the best 👌
ONCE AGAIN GUYS, NIIIIIICCCCE! 😊 AND R.I.P. ☹ TO THE GREAT AMERICANNNN POET!
Apparently Jim Morrison and Eric Burdon were friends, but I can't find any evidence of them singing together. I know that they both attended a concert by a band called Blues Image in 1969, and joined the band onstage for an impromptu concert. Please react to the Doors' Peace Frog next. Or When the Music's Over.
"L.A Woman" MR MOJO RISIN!
FIVE TO ONE
END OF NIGHT
TOUCH ME
WHEN THE MUSICS OVER
THE CRYSTAL SHIP

Omg, i've been waiting for someone to react to this song for so long. I mean you two.❤ it is one of my favorite songs. I mean that by the time you get to this song in your deep dive your way down in the deep end. I've been here all along waiting for you.😝😝
You have to see the Movie The Doors - All about Jim Morrison and the band and his relationship, also the 60's and 70's feel and the things that happened back then, Val Kilmer plays Jim Morrison really well in this movie!!
You guys are a breath of fresh air… I just locked in to your channel and your format and vibe are making me to reconnect too the music I grew up with.. thanks for the treat.. Til this day I am still ordering vinyl of past as well as current artist
Its about time you reacted to another Doors song and Waiting for the sun no less, Waiting for the sun was The Doors 3rd Lp that came out in 1968. You guys thought Waiting for the sun is unique, your minds would be blown with Not to touch the earth, My Wild Love, or Five to One
Riders on the storm ❤
You guys are knocking it out of the park. Great show.
Probably my favorite Doors' song - i've never seen any reactors choose it - so i'm glad you did - thanks for posting this.
This is the first time I heard this song and it didn’t disappoint. I loved the mixed tempo. This is going to be one of my new favorites from The Doors.
Land Ho! by them 🙏🏻 (from the same album)
it's kinda a sailor song
OMG I had totally forgotten about this song... thank you!
I will suggest another song with "sun' in the title Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes. Don't let the band name scare you off. Amber may even recognize the song when she hears it.
It's so fun to see you discovering and enjoying some of my favorite groups I grew up with. Love love love The Doors. So unique so interesting. Two of my favorites you haven't listened to yet: Crystal Ship and 20th Century Fox. Jim's great voice is really shown off in Crystal Ship.
Have you ever done Light my Fire my favorite . Back when I got their album , I played it over and over and sang along . All the lyrics were printed on on the album cover.
It appeared on the album "Morrison Hotel" which was their fifth studio album around 1969.
Its the same era as Roadhouse Blues, off the same album, Morrison Hotel.
When The Musics Over is one of my very favorites -- The live version is a geat one to react to because it shows how Jim would control the audience and shows a bit of his fun side too --
i _LOVE_ how you guys figured out Jim's words.
This is one of my favorite Doors song. Not many people know it but it gets me every time
love your reactions! please bring us more of The Doors... try Unhappy Girl, We Could Be So Good Together and Not to Touch the Earth pleeeeeeease
Nice reaction! The Doors definitely lived during "Strange Days." And "My Eyes Have Seen You" going on a "Moonlight Drive" somewhere with an "LA Woman". And "When the Music's Over" then we know "The End" is near.
I sing this in karaoke a lot. 🤯
"Was this early Doors?" No, I think this came out in 1970, the second cut on the "Morrison Hotel" LP, which was their fifth studio album. They'd had a small slump with their previous LP "The Soft Parade," and Morrison's legal troubles were hindering their touring income. But this LP was a killer, opening with "Roadhouse Blues" and then this.
Robby's slide guitar rules here. When he auditioned for Ray and Jim he knocked them out when he played that slide.
There are still a lot of great Doors cuts out there, but like many of your other posters I'd recommend "L.A. Woman" next.
1rst, strange days, waiting for sun, soft parade, Morrison hotel. LA women.
There is an interview with Jim Morrison describing the doors music as the feeling he gets from it and it is the most accurate description I ever heard.
Love it
My all time favorite Doors song. I got a radio station to play this song o e time. I love it
I'll never forget Lollapalooza in June of 96 at Kansas City. The Ramones finished their set, and the Shaolin Monks didn't take the stage. There was around 2 hours of nothing on stage, we were baking in the Summer sun, and the crowd was getting restless. Then suddenly Soundgarden took the stage and opened their set with a cover of this song.
I think this song is about that yearning for Spring one feels during the Winter.
Always thought it was odd that the song Waiting For The Sun was not on the album of the same name. It came out later on Morrison Hotel
I don't think this was ever on the radio, but it was my own favorite Doors song. Cool to see y'all covering it. Thanks!!
This was from Morrison Hotel The next to the last Doors studio album with Jim Morrison ❤
You guys are my favorite... _exposures._
The Doors are fabulous, no doubt about it.
We love and appreciate you guys too
I play the first six songs on their ABSOLUTELY LIVE album.
The Doors were a really cool band. If you only heard that heavy part from Waiting For The Sun, which Jordan seems to love, you'd think it was made very recently. But this song is from 1971!
🚪 🚪 🚪 🚪 waiting for the ☀.."hello I love you" was the 1st doors song I ever heard as a kid
One of my faves by them. Morrison at his best and the band is spectacular. Epic banger.
greats reactions brothers saludos from Salta Argentina
Jim Morrisons favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and you can definitely hear the influence it had in his singing style
One of the most influential bands of my lifetime.
Thank you, you two, for exploring!
You gotta do also Roadhouse Blues!❤
You must do Light My Fire, their most popular song! Listen to the long version! Biggest hit for them.
What a good reaction, thanks!
Waiting for the Sun was the title track of The Doors' 1968 third album - their only album to go #1 in the US.
I am a later Doors fan myself, just got into them about maybe 10-15 years ago, because my husband is a big 70’s guy and I was more 80’s since I am younger. Jim Moorison is definitely a very unique individual along with the Doors and their music! It definitely can be described as haunting and beautiful! ❤👍
Virtuose musicians ,Master singer👍
Moonlight Drive is one of my favorite songs by The Doors.
This is the strangest life I've ever known!
One of my favorite lines in Rock & Roll
