Malcolm Reilly was injured early, hobbled around for awhile, went off for a needle, and was replaced at half-time. He had little impact on the game, so why Rex chose him as one of the three best players on the day is unbelievable.
Ian Heads wrote in the Sunday Telegraph the next day (remember, the Grand Final was played on a Saturday back then) that the 1973 Grand Final between Manly and Cronulla was "a grand final as tough and dirty as any bar-room brawl". Fun Fact: During that game, referee Keith Page allegedly threatened to take Manly 2nd Rower Peter Peter's out the back of the SCG grandstand after the game and give him a hiding. This was after Peters had allegedly called Page a cheat.
Rex,the man who described Bondi as our oldest beach 😂😂😂😂
Rex was right, they lost in 95 and won in 96.

Those ties though
No theatrics, no yelling at each other. Just talking. Used to love watching this back in the day.
It was 10 - 7 Rex
".......dirty game ,dirty dirty game"... says it all
If the League had a talk about the violence afterwards then Wests obviously weren't listening
Rex wraps Reilly in the gf against Cronulla ? He didn’t last 10 minutes.
Manly was the 1970s version of today's Roosters. Buying the best instead of nurturing their own players.
