Shogun didn't leave my cd player when it came out. Album still sounds as great today as it did then. I will say the master on the vinyl is better if you have a decent rig, as with all the Trivium albums.
@@MrMetallica43wow someone else actually loves vengeance falls lol that’s rare… I like ascendency and shogun a little bit more but vengeance falls and in waves is pretty damn close
Because i dont have a 7 string, this is my fav trivium song since i was 17-18. Still know how to play it today but the solo parts i just freestyle yolo lately until i patiently relearn it.
@garrysanders9898 It's definitely Newcastle. I just watched this video in sync with my own video 😂 I like that this video is taken from Paolo's side and mine is from Corey's end.
Lots of Trivium songs, especially from Shogun, are written for 7 string guitar and 5 string bass. Yes, Callisto isn't, but likely other songs before and after they played this live were. You can see Matt is also using 7 string and Paolo 5, so they can play whatever they want in the same tuning without having to change gear while performing. It's easier to mute the 7th string while playing than just changing guitars every other song.
They've been performing this exact song for 15+ years, it likely gets really dry to sing exactly the same as they did on record (I know I'd get tired of it). Trivium's band philosophy has always been about writing music and performing music for fun, not for "what the fans want." As Matt's singing style has changed over the past decade, you can tell in other live performances that he changes the way old songs are sang to match his current style and just add an interesting twist. It does sound very different from the studio recordings, you're right. But I think that's the point and I always have enjoyed listening to the changes, almost like "if Callisto was rewritten today, how would it sound now?"
my favorite album, absolute masterpiece!
As a whole I love the album but there is something about the tone of vengeance falls that I can't get enough of. Definitely my top two trivium albums
100% agree brother

My favorite album from them. I told Matt one of my favorite ever. Top five and I’ve been listening to metal for many many years. Lol

I really think Matts technique screaming is getting wayyy better, sounds a lot fuller than it used too, I can tell he's worked really hard on it.
Respect for Paolo that he can play a show
FINALLY! A super high quality of the live version of this song!🤘 Thank you so much for this!
this song..this album..this trivium year... was fkn perfect!
I love the melodies and grooves on this one
My first favourite song after hearing Trivium, Paolo's Zen mode
Fuckin love this song
Matt finally beating the can't play Callisto allegations

Shogun is the best Trivium's album in my opinion! Absolute masterpiece! Trivium rules!!! 🤟🏼😸🎸🎻🎤🎹
One of my favorites 🤘
This sounds fuckin' excellent!
Awesome! I absolutely adore the live version of the chorus. It also highlights Matt's vocal progress, those high notes aren't easy to sing
Truly a band for the people. Their newer stuff kicks ass, and they keep playing older stuff that kicks ass. Can't wait to see you guys again.
paolo so stoic in this one
He had to stand still because of his surgery
What a kick Ass song! Everyone sounds great

Minha favorita do shogun depois da Prometheus ❤❤❤

I waiting for...
Paolo is a beast.
I can at least pretend I was at the gig where you played this song 😅
Honestly, this song sounds way better in half step down
😎
How come you guys are using 7 strings? Pretty sure this is in Eb standard, absolutely love this song! ❤️🤘
Is this Newcastle?
Yep, we didn’t get the backdrop so it’s a dead giveaway

I was there as well, roughly on Coreys side. Fantastic gig, glad we got a live video from the concert online 🤘
I was at that show too! I was centre-back directly behind the mixing desk. Had a fantastic view, directly in-line with Matt.
@@IllusiveEv I was at the back after meeting the band in the Pig Pen but the pit works in mysterious ways and I found my way near to the front 😂
Has the chorus always been sung always this way? It sounds very different from the album.
He’s doing a blend of the 3 harmony vocals he recorded over the album version 🤘🏾
@@jarmalofamerica Yeah, that makes sense. It sounds good this way.
Matt sing sometimes when he should scream, makes it sound odd
Why did Corey use 7strings? Lol
