100% None of the later albums have come close, although all of them had serious bangers... But just think about the fact that The Phalanx was one of the best songs on In the Court of the Dragon and it literally is a Shogun song :D
@@IntoTheAzure same, I can play it but not fully up to speed. You need pretty good endurance to downpick both of the main riffs at 145. I can play it up to 160 if I mix in some upstrokes, but that’s not how the rhythm lord Matt plays it
This song, and Into the mouth of hell we march were the reasons I bought a 7 string all those years ago. Such a killer album, amazing from front to back, including the special edition "B sides". ❤️
Jfc I slept like a damn hibernating polar bear on seeing this iteration of these guys and now I gotta wait til like 2026. Corey's backup has come such a long way, so much so that I think he deserves some vocals on the record.
Newcastle! I was at this show, it was fantastic. I've been wanting to see this song live for years, and getting to hear it in my home city was amazing.
I'm not sure there's a bad song on the whole album. The sign of a good album to me is one in which when a track ends, be it a single or deep cut, your brain automatically goes to the next sequential song on the album. How many people listen to entire albums start to finish anymore? I can't say I've ever started this album and NOT finished it through to the full fadeout of Shogun. When Kirisute Gomen ends, that tasty synchronized guitar intro of Scylla is the only thing my brain will accept. Loved the themes to the album, the motif splashed throughout, the technicality that never felt needless or masturbatory, only artful and tasty. Bravo, guys! This was a treat to watch and another great performance of a great song! Thanks for the upload!
The Newcastle show was soo good! Been listening to Trivium since Ember to Inferno in 2004, legit the album/band that made me appreciate screaming vocals! I remember being one of the ones that loved The Crusade at the time and wondered how it could be topped, I bought Shogun and in pummels Kirisute Gomen! Needless to say, an instant favourite. There's not a bad album by Trivium imo, only different flavours, but all awesome
Hello Matt. I'm living in RU. Last time Trivium visited Moscow was crazy-years ago. 2012 or smth. Anyway i'm so glad to have memories watching Trivium live in my country. So sad that due to war there is no chance any band come to perform here again in the near future, but be sure RU trivium community is strong and hope to hear you guys again one day.
Masterpiece. Best opening of any song plus “Life’s a battle, perpetual crusade. One against all, time to wield the blade” is one of my favorite lyrics of all time
The wildest thing rn is I haven't heard this song at all in over 5 years, and this live version sounds exactly like the album version after all this time 🔥🔥🔥
Love this song, love the album (one of my favorites of all time), but to all future cameramen and women...FILM THE FUCKING SOLO, WHY DO SO MANY CAMERA PEOPLE FAIL ON THIS! especially when we have bass solo, cause they're so rare
Every instrument goes to a mixing soundboard before it’s projected through the house speakers. What you’re hearing in the video is a direct line out of every instrument in the performance mixed on the board before it goes out to the house and recorded by other means. I’m not an audio recording engineer. Just a dude who likes trivium who watches a few production UA-cam channels. I could be wrong
Man, Shogun is legit one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded. UNTOUCHABLE
I want to hear a “What If” silence in the snow actually made it onto Shogun
On god bro ON GOD
@@Krose8266 Yeah! Imagine that SitS and The Phalanx could both have been there...

Paolo: *plays 2 solos*
Camera guy: *imma pretend I didn't see that*
The plight of a bass player.
Funnily enough he turned away at Corey's solo too! xD
Matt showing the middle finger to everyone 0:10
Camera during Corey and Paolo's solo: 🤪
Camera during Matt's solo: 🥰
One of my fav Trivium songs
One of their best!
This song is hard as balls to downpick, Matt is on another level rhythm guitar mastery
I had to practice metronome down picking daily for ages to be able to play this. I can't play up to speed right now because I've been lazy.

Shogun was a life changer to me. The intro of this song is one of the reasons that I fell in love with Trivium.
this song is a monster. Technically amazing. Shogun is a masterwork. Can't wait for the Vinyl! missed getting it 15 years ago.
The triplets in this song are unreal.
This song, and Into the mouth of hell we march were the reasons I bought a 7 string all those years ago. Such a killer album, amazing from front to back, including the special edition "B sides". ❤️
Best solo I've seen from Matt Heafy 04:34
This was pretty killer too 06:13
The tongue has a mind of its own
Shogun was the first Trivium album that I've listened to and this song's intro is just fucking legendary!
amazing song!
weird that the camera didnt show corey at all during the solo tho lol
No need, we got Meat Beefy instead
If only somebody was standing at Corey's side of the stage and got it all...
Shogun is my favorite Trivium album. They brought the PROG!!!
That free style solo with the ending was sick af!
Paolo is so dang chill 😂 this is one of my favs by the way! Listen to this song almost everyday!
He had a hernia surgery that’s why he not moving 😂
Jfc I slept like a damn hibernating polar bear on seeing this iteration of these guys and now I gotta wait til like 2026.

Fucking awesome, Shogun is my favourite album of all time.
Happy 15th Shogun you are now the first trivium album to have all songs performed live and played .
Paolo’s bass playing is top notch.
Top 3 Trivium song ever! This needs to be played live regularly 🤘🎸🤘
This was my ringtone for years
I've had shogun intro for years now.
This song is incredible, I really hope to see it live someday
Shogun is one of my fav álbum in metal history

These videos actually help me learn these songs. Thank you for uploading these.

Only one who failed in this was whoever had the camera and not filming Paolos solos.
They also completely ignored Corey during his solo

Man, the sound quality of these lives have been amazing.
Broke my neck to this song in 2012

My favorite song from my favorite metal album
Amazing quality and performance!
One of the most underrated songs!
Heafy coming in with the Evertune! Hell yeah
The cameraman should get his arse whipped for missing first solo...
Jesus Christ, you guys sound so huge!
the camera needs to know what is a solo
Cameraman film the person playing the solo challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Good on Paolo for still going after his shit! Good job my man
What happened?
Yeah! What happened?
hernia surgery@@MusiCaninesTheMusicalDogs
Emergency Hernia surgery, can be life threatening. Basically a strangulated hernia can kill you if not treated promptly with surgery
@paribasbruh9962 if I recall correctly it was a hernia that needed to be operated on.
Shogun Best Ever
How long is that geezers fingers jesus matts a beast
Matt you should cover Wardruna - Voluspa ur voice 🎤 would harmonize beautifully with the melody 🎶 🎵 🎼
Cameraman did Corey dirty during his solo
did Paolo hurt his back, where he can't sling his bass?
He had hernia surgery, so thats why his bass is on a stand
that bass looks big
Are you aware of how short Paulo is? Lol
You’re not gonna give Woody credit for his excellent mix?
Hey CurtyWurty, it's clearly playable ya jabroni.
I miss Paolo Gregoletto vocals
Why the cameradude wasn't catching Corey's solo? 😭😭
iiiiiiiihhhhuuuuuuuuuu
What's with Paolo's bass stand? he looks like madame tussauds
Nottingham gig?
It's Newcastle. It syncs up perfectly with my video.
Cameraman literally didn’t show most of the solos. So frustrating lol
Love this song, love the album (one of my favorites of all time), but to all future cameramen and women...FILM THE FUCKING SOLO, WHY DO SO MANY CAMERA PEOPLE FAIL ON THIS! especially when we have bass solo, cause they're so rare
Kinda looks like the dude from Ibaraki
What does soundboard audio mean?
Every instrument goes to a mixing soundboard before it’s projected through the house speakers. What you’re hearing in the video is a direct line out of every instrument in the performance mixed on the board before it goes out to the house and recorded by other means.

@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe thank you
What stupid cameraperson points at the rhythm guitar during the insane solo?! HONESTLY!
