I received my Hero S8 today. Quality build, great torque at 1200w, smooth dual suspension system which isn't far off the pneumatic ride I'm used to, and the lights are just so sic. Awesome scooter. Australia Qld.
I have the upgraded version. Your right, not far off pneumatic. No flats!!!!
* WOW * spacious looking deck for bigger folks like me is a plus, most of the scooters i have looked at have skinny decks. No flats definitely a BIG plus. Love it.
@Wild Willy its wider than most scooters surprised you didnt notice that
Nice video as always
Ive been enjoying my Etwow for years and have been waiting for a scooter with these type of specs to upgrade. - loved the footage this time -that path through the electric towers by the little stream/river looked like a pleasant cruising session :) i would have liked to hear a tad about how it folds up and the weight? Appreciate you and your work bruda!!
Folding matters and I wondered the same thing
If they could somehow get the price to $1,000 usd...everyone would buy this. Great review and thank you again.
With a 1008Wh hour battery good luck
It is 1099 now
Maybe put a video up about comparing this to other similar scooters? I think the widewheel is the "copycat"
Dualtron gotta come up with a wide tyre Thunder version for sure. Airless is the way to go and if the suspension is absorbing the bumps I don't care if tyres aren cushy.
Solid tires are the way to go no flats and very smooth
Looks like it has parts/design in common with Titan T8 and variants (e.g. Zero scooters).
My biggest concern with escooters is longevity of the battery. Are replacements easily available and how easy/hard is it to swap out. Is the battery cover on this S8 on the bottom or front of the base? Wish they would make escooters like some ebikes with removable batteries.
Gosh I miss summer
Wow 🤩
Thanks Micah. J.Q.
Airless tires are the future, look at all these tire makers working on airless car tires.
Maybe on cars &larger vehicles &construction vehicles...i hope not PEV's...on my Kaabo Mantis pro i run 10" 3" wide Road tires and they are so strong i could drive home Even with a flat tire
@@-joo3033 yes and the air tire rides much better than the solid tire. it is better ride and provides better natural suspension. solid tires also can slide sometimes where air tires don't. Air tires are way better he just doesn't know.
Yes they work tireless day and night to make it happen 😁😉😋
Hey Micah. I really enjoy your videos but I need to know. Where do you put your camera on your travelling shots?
I've seen others that look as if someone else is having to ride beside them but it looks like they're a bit to steady.
It is likely the Insta 360 mounted on a selfie stick
Beast
Nice & Thanks :)
Thank you I loved it when you jump on the scooter w💜w
I can jump 8 inches off the road with my 95 lb scooter.
@@rockefelleragent1357 snaP :).
What a helpful comment 🙄
Reminds me of a Zero 8X mixed with a mercane wide wheel.
A beautiful union...
True.
Im an owner of 8x and had an Opportunity to try out hero8s today. 8x is better in all aspects and the 8s upclose looks and ants cheap. Widewheels are super hard (we compared them Also with Mercane WW) and unpleasant to ride. Its an overpirced, low quality build. Not worth what its asked for.
@@tadeuszzielinski8798 That's the thing I hate about this channel that he doesn't really get to the real truth in his reviews, just short overviews with no real negative cons ever discussed about any scooter. I'm glad I found Wrong Way's review of this scooter. His video was way more in depth and detailed almost all the pros and cons. He even talked about this scooters short comings compared to the 8X. Check out Wrong Way's video for an actual review.
Heroriderusa website describes it as an all terrain scooter, probably not designed for crazy off roading. Those are definitely not off road tires. I would definitely prefer a scooter without inner tube, like this one. I guess to each their own.
I’m impressed it can go 40 miles and up to 30 mph
zero 10x claimed range is like 50 miles but real life is 30. prob same with this one.
Let's say a car is rated to get 22 mpg. You load it up and redline it at every stop and see if you get the 22 mpg. Same for Tesla cars, if it's rated for 300 miles. Good luck getting 300 going full speed. You don't load up a scooter with a 250 lbs rider and go max speed to test range. I have seen where a scooter was rated for around 18 miles and a 8 year old kid got 28 miles on a single charge. You have to look by size of the battery and motor to give an estimate. This one will probably do no more than 30 miles full speed.
@@vitoleshchik7380 I will give you $100 if this thing does 30 miles full speed. It will get half that, maybe 20. The car comparison just doesn't work. Of course car MPG is not taken flooring it, but they are calculated using normal driving conditions. Scooter specs probably estimate the range based on a 140lb person going 12 miles per hour downhill with the wind at their back.
More like 24mph.
@@oldgorillascooterclub2597 it actually does 30 mph my daughter got it
mine are coming in a few days.. i gonna ride it to work.. let see how this scooter handle with oahu hawaii road.. because mercane 2019 didn't last long before it broke..
You like it better than Widewheel?
@@vpk1884 wide wheel have power but lack of suspension. And it's cheaply made.. in compare to the hero s8. Herso s8 have quality but its a little lack of power . I will take quality over power anyday..
Well .. if you choose between s8 and x8 , definitely advice you x8 cause I have them both 😁
I am in Canada , where can I buy it? which website if it is online?
Boy thats so true, these scooters are heaps of fun. For any Aussies lurking and wondering where to get them in Australia www.dubitz.com.au is the Australian distributor.
Nice
Sorry, but I would have to go with the 52V-1000 watt(1600 peak), 22.4Ah-32+mph max speed Turbowheel Pacer with 10" air filled tires and suspension over this for the same price. The lighting package on the Pacer is pretty good too.
Just the thought of getting flat tire far from home... not sure i want that
@@alexk9711 Keep em aired up and apply slime to the tires to help make them puncture resistant. It's up to you, but I'd rather not get a constant brain massage while riding with solid tires.
@@chrisb.1214 I tested scooters with air tires and without i agree if there is no suspension its a rough ride. I also rode scooters with suspension without air tires and its a good ride. Its a peace of mind of knowing that tires wont go flat, it only takes one flat at wrong place and wrong time.
So yea I wouldnt buy no flats if scooter dont have suspension.
@@alexk9711 Depends on the scooter I guess. I've had scooters with air tires ride well and solid tires not so good, and vice versa. The size of the tires makes a big difference too. The 10" air filled tires generally makes for a much smoother ride.
on my Kaabo Mantis pro i run 10" 3" wide Road tires and they are so strong i could drive home Even with a flat tire (Did just that after driving into a Sharp rock at about 34mph, The only damage was a tiny hole on The front inner tube) ...so if i were to use solid tires i would lose on everything (Worse grip, Much much Worse grip on Wet surfaces, More bouncy, harder to replace, More unstable at high speeds, harder to find replacements)
Is 30 km/h noticeably faster than 25 km/h please?
Lots of great features but we in the UK are still very much behind in Medieval times and no matter the size or type of E-Scooter they are all illegal to ride sadly.
The reason for that is it'll crash the transport industry. The uk is a tinny and most people will never use public transportation again if scooters are legal.
thats just not true...
people would use public transit without a doubt, you really want to cross London for example riding a fucking scooter when you can ride the scooter to an underground station, take the train across the city for far cheaper than charging your scooter and using said electricity, and then get off at your destination with plenty of charge oeft over might I add?
Oh yeah definitely, e-scooters are totally poised to take over public transport, commuter trains, bus lines, light medium or heavy rail, of course who would ever use those...right...?
There's a scooter that goes 90miles hr. It has 2 motors one in front one in the back, 3 speeds.
Hero s8 or kugoo m4 pro and why?
It's a beautiful scooter, to bad they don't sell it anymore...:(
Is it available in india ?
i bought one last july. ended up customizing the handle bar cause of sudden wobbling whenever i ran into an uneven road. brakes suck tho. i'll probably upgrade it into hydraulic brakes for stopping power.
For $ 1,300 you shouldn’t have to upgrade shit. That’s pricey for a scooter.
You purchased it back in July? We only started shipping them at the end of this August. Please contact our support department with this issue. The scooter has very powerful braking: disk brakes combined with electronic braking power located in the LCD settings. You can come to a complete stop alone with electronic brake.
@@heroriderusa1361 yep. don't get me wrong. I like my scooter a lot. i only got issues with my brakes. :/
You must be on the heavy side, the brakes are sweet. 75kg rider.
Does that scooter have a horn

Can you climb hills with that scooter ?
i have the upgraded version, yes
@@ratchfordgeorge Great !
Good looking scooter. But I think bigger tire (11 inch or higher) and motor is recommended, for better ride quality and stability and traction at high speed. It also handles better on the bumps on the road. 3200w, 5600w, 6000w, 7000w scooters
I'm concerned about safety at 30 mph... seems dangerous if you fall?
Well of course you’re going to get hurt. It’s a risk you take, just like riding a bike or driving a car.
Solid looking scooter, where can I buy one?
I would look at something like 5600w+ scooters from alibaba... $1800 shipped. You will be able to go faster and keep up with the traffic on the road.
@@rockefelleragent1357 how much faster you trying to go on a scooter? Hahaha 30 is enough for me... Seems dangerous to go much faster 😬 plus this one does look pretty sweet, I'll keep my eye out but this one I like 👍
@@andykhar1269 50- 55 mph, you can get that with 5600w-6000w scooter. With a 1200w scooter you will likely regret later....as it doesn't enough enough power to deliver. Going up the hill would be a problem. Hauling stuff in the trailer would be a problem too. With 5600w+ scooters they are workhorse... Great replacement for transportation. Plus you will get better traction with these big scooters as tires are bigger.
@ldscooterrider It's still cheaper to buy scooters from alibaba and still be able to have extra parts for backup.. If you go with name brand sellers in the U.S. you still have to install/configure the replacement parts yourself as they don't have franchise stores locally in every city... The parts they provide you will have good compatibility, but you still risk getting electrical parts burnt/shorted when you install.. You can start off on a 3200w Chinese scooter platform (universal body frame and deck compartment size) and get the extra parts in hand.. You can upgrade them yourself with higher power controllers, motors, or batteries. Try to get the parts from the same seller (throttle display + controller for example) for better compatibility. Ultimately whichever way you go you will need to learn to fix/modify/build the scooter yourself. I have a 5600w scooter and it will have 7700w after fixing/modifying.. When you buy a scooter from alibaba you can choose Samsung or LG battery if you want that.
800w for a scooter? How can some bikes get away with only 250w motors???
It's because of the larger size wheels. Less torque on a bike that is 1000w compared to a scooter that's 1000w, but the bikes top speed would be higher!
Any 250w ebike must be pedaled. A 250w ebike, even when pedaled hard, would still only go 20mph at most. This scooter goes over 30mph but has no pedals or chain. The motor has to do all the work. If you want to convert or buy an e-bike that can go 30mph, 250w is not enough. It's for a child's bike.
Mercane WW pro vs this?? Thoughts??
This is better. i have the upgraded version with NUTT fully hydraulic brakes.
those tires do not look like serious off road tires. I mean sure they're wide enough but the tread does not seem compatible for off road.
Looks like an all terrain type scooter. Pretty cool
Hard rubber is going to react differently than inflated.
@@Nphen Air tires make it a softer ride, but again, it's a preference because someone might not want flats. I would hate to get a flat 10 miles away.

Yes its nicknamed Samsung Fold 2 😋
search for dual modded s8 ;)
Why does it look like a green screen when he's riding outside
Dude you can literally buy the Nanrobot Lighting 2.0 for just $1,100 bucks and it goes 37 mph
Hi Micah: you can't really call something a "review" when it's more or less a product introduction. IMHO, it hurts you more than helping it. You introduce the specs but that's about it. But if you change your heading to "Introduction" it makes a HUGE difference - and you're not being dishonest about it.
Fair enough, thanks for your opinion. But in addition to the specs, I talk about the ride quality, the experience, what I like about it, what I don’t, and share a number of use cases for people interested in potentially getting this scooter or one like it. It’s a review in every aspect, just an info dense one that doesn’t take up 20 minutes of your time. This is my style, and others use their own styles. Everyone wins!
can I get the place it was made i will buy it from the usa

I need it. Looks at price. I don't need it.
Same here. I have 1 big scooter but I want a smaller scooter too but for under 1k. I'd rather order 1 from China than pay this price for this lil scooter. This is a small scooter too close to bigger scooter prices.
Small tires are not good. Potholes will fuck u up when riding at nite no matter how aware u are.
not true. Just be very aware.
I’ve owned this scooter for 8 months and it’s been broken most of that time. The wiring is shockingly bad and the holes in the top of the deck allows water to flow into the poorly sealed electronics. Brake cable gets in the way of steering. Rattling and loose bolts. Fenders don’t work. Overall a good battery with great range in a very badly built copy (rip off) of the dualtron mini

Actually, their website says it achieved IP54 water resistance rating

Possibly not good after rain. Lack of full fender will rooster-tail yourself and then you get there with a soaking wet backside wondering "wtf? How is my ass cold and wet when the rain was falling in front of me."
3:09 That looks kinda dangerous for someone not watching where they're going.
Only a child does not know that this a dangerous ride
